  1. Rot/ rubbish, the bottom 3 are the only ones being along way back. Look at the ladder and we are virtually equal with sides below Freowho finished 10th. L With all that happened including 7 points in four games losses some with weakened sides at the end.
  2. You need to sit down and list the PROS and CONS and if you look at it critically and intelligently you will come up with twice as many PROS than CONS for a return to Finals or even a Top4 finish with Flag possibilities. Your usually half glass empty so I am not surprised of your general pessimism. Dont in any way share your view so if you act on my suggestion how you go.
  3. Mostly I say 13/14 really but possible 35/40 goaler if 23 gamer in forward line in 2025.
  4. That’s probably because he seems to get more complicated leg/knee type injuries.
  5. Far too simplistic view re theGrand finals. BTW he was judged their best vs Cats almost the only one who stood up. I reckon if you wanted to not like that In our camp others might say Kossie has underperformed IMO in our 21 to 23 Finals in comparison to home and away games. But ha has been our 2nd goal kicker in 3:4 seasons. So it is so harsh sometimes.
  6. Horrible combination hopefully never see this mix. I could offer HF Pickett JVR Fritsch/ Sharp/Jeffo F. TurnerTMac Langford/Fritsch. At least there’s ground ball cover smalls and Fritta can play either HF or Forward P. Much more movement and all players are interchangeable. Some will be Interchange no doubt.
  7. I will declare Jeffo will go well enough this year tO maintain a regular spot and maybe keep Johnson outbid a regular spot. JVR ‘s days in the ruck may not be over yet. At least the competition for spots will be interesting and all start with a blank canvas really. Jeffo has of all the best traits and forward skills and now with his bigger body will get some real chance to star and succeed. He will also make our forward line work as Troy Chaplin will also. Good luck yo all our forwards let’s make this part of our team the stars for 2025.
  8. Might get D/L ers off Frittas back if he succeeds.
  9. That’s what you go to an AFL Club to learn. 18/20 yo’s are not the full product. We put the training and playing habits into raw talented or potentially talented prospects.
  10. And the rest of improvers young guns and role players plus recruits will make a flag
  11. We have earmarked him for a purpose and I’ll be very surprised if he doesn’t end up as Nibbler’s replacement. Or if not a slightly different version of Lingers on the other wing or he might be a very good outside mid in the midfield quartet plus ??? Who could very well expand our on ball brigade to elite. With Yhe champs back plus JV and Sparrow and Langford in due course plus Sharp Lindsay Riv Kossie and Mc Vee all being rotated through as needed. Talk about variety and versatility and most players are good / great or will be in their original positions. Only worry is will Goody use this variety and versatility??
  12. Got years mixed up 2023 should be 2024 and 2024 should be 2025. Sorry.
  13. I am with you Wrecker and get infuriated when the D/L ers IMO completely disregard JVR’s contribution in the ruck. Firstly they underestimate his worth just writing it off. He is by the Flemington straight easily the best second rock forward on our list till the end of 2023. How this will be in 2024 is anyone’s guess. With Campbell and Johnson I would expect he might go back a peg or two. But he competes he scratches he palms he bodies and up forward I believe he engaged himself into the game more than if he was just a forward. He is not great at the centre bounce but should get more time playing behind the ball. I think he might kick 40 goals in 2025 rucking or no rucking. I think he needs to start grabbing some marks one grab and it will become a lot easier plus his confidence will soar. We can hope it this year!!
  14. A big vote of thanks for all the reporters which makes us feel as if we are running with Tmac tacking with Clarry puffing with Maysie after his running rehabbing with Charlie and smiling with Trac plus getting his act together with Harvey yo show us what a big year it’s going to be fit the mighty Dees in 2025. 2024 a year from hell but it’s 2025 now and we will ring the Bell!!
  15. Good call on Windsor Adam he should line up in the centre and control our game with his speed class poise and goal kicking down the guts. Not yet on the ball but about 2 years ahead of his career in our team. Let’s use him and maybe Pup or Sparrow or Xavier can take over the other wing with Lingers setting standards as usual on his wing.
  16. He just said positively that he felt he would be ready for Round1 ie to play but did not mention AFL or VFL. We could assume perhaps but unlike last year when he wasn’t fit I think he would be still bought along conservatively. Perhaps he could be fighting Kolt Chandler and Pup plus Xavier Lindsay for a half forward flank vacancy. if that were the case I think we could be thrilled with that depth to select from. No shame to miss out really.
  17. He is in Swans folklore. Most successful coach ever I presume. Most Clubs would die for the last 14 years 62.% winning run 5 Grand Finals 1 Flag A culture of winning and team ethos plus a development program thst is the envy of the AFL. Crowds have risen consistently over this period along with membership and 12 Finals in 14 years. And are well and truly respected along with The Cats as the most successful teams that have not had to bottom out to keep competitive. Much like Collingwood of old since 1958 but always around the mark.
  18. I don’t advocate The Duke for on the ball this year but placed as our new centre man where his skill speed poise and goal kicking would be a real bonus from the centre of the ground and down forward. In time yes he should be a midfield runner also but now he breathes a Warner style centre man creating havoc.
  19. Really that is not going to make a great difference if they only improve marginally. Jefferson you have nominated was probably the biggest improver in the club last season. He is almost a lock in for Senior games early in the season judging by 2024 and his already promising performances at pre season training. But the rest played either fairly standard AFL and reasonably good standard to some standout Casey games. For all of them to improve to AFL standard is asking a lot as some eg McAdam and Fullarton were hardly knocking any door down for fulfil a really meaningful depth role. Laurie Woewodin had plenty of opportunities but just couldn’t really nail down a regular spot and Sestan and Adams were although both are promising were never any real chance fit AFL experience. My point really is this group would not be expected despite their talent to make a great lift in our Finals fortunes unless a major acceleration occurred in form with Jefferson excepted. indeed players like Lever Salem Spargo Petty Fritch Bowey had poorer seasons and can go back to a level of 2021 hopefully. The realistic hope of our team in bouncing back to Finals is that JVR Turner Chandler AMW go to another level of improvement and that the stars like Viney Trac Clarry Maysie Gawny Kossie Lingers McVee and The Duke have injury free years plus consistently high standard of play to inspire a resurgence similar to 2021. Also newcomers Langford Lindsay and Sharp have super first years to provide fresh young legs and lead our team to play a more exciting brand of footy that will not only be successful but get our fans also buoyant about chances of another tilt at Top4 and the Flag. And it goes without saying that the Coaches especially Goody are under pressure and Chaplin also to manufacture a sharp and organised goal scoring forward line to win matches.
  20. Agree Such a simple error resigning Hore over Riak.
  21. You’re confusing your sports making life far too difficult!! There are a million numbers over the world you could be taking into account. What happens in Spain or Manchester has no bearing on our allocation. Embrace the young stars in their OWN number to create a legendary career for our future champions.
  22. Functions for 30 years and 50 are usually held in season before a game or mid week. Also sometimes another get together is inviting interstate fans to a pre game function. Notice of weeks or two/ three months is usually given and often includes a seat in the Northern Stand level2.
  23. In a real world we should have drafted Riak and not given Marty Hore a one year contract. This is not a decision for our future and the Swans swooped.
  24. People don’t give to a fund with no real proof of and substance. So while it may have been a time for a start asking again when further details are revealed would be hard pressed to get the same people donate again. Let’s get behind this project once the official announcement is confirmed. One real go to get a target is the way to go.
