His career does not indicate he would be in our best 23 (not 22). He had the earmarks of a younger MacAdam all his career with some bad luck no doubt. Needs to get really fit and hope for luck at a Club that seems to do the right thing by its players .
  2. Understand your comment and truth is that Trac got massively involved in matters that should never have become public. I don’t hold any grudges as he is a remarkably pleasant person generally and he was under very strong family pressure from the medical issues. It was also apparent the Club underestimated the seriousness unfortunately. Great learning curve for both and Trac is now setting his normal standards for himself that should see him back as our top player along with a revitalised Clarry and much improved culture and team power hopefully like 2021. Incremental or Large improvement should come from nearly all players next year considering their age or experience. And coaching improvement also.

Starting again like that would put the AFLW back to the AFL on the 60’s. You surely can’t be serious how would Clubs get the benefit of TV coverage? All playing at same time ? Very little needs to be done to maintain the goal scoring as each list gets better due to the players starting in Women’s competition from very young ages now. And it’s girls kids wishes to play AFLW. What is needed is regular time zone each year and a regular draw now over all Clubs. Will be very interesting to see how Hawks go vs North Lions and Crows in the Finals. Will be competitive no doubt but as for winning Flag probably not. All the easy draw they had may come back to haunt them.
  4. Who did you hear from ? Really all sounds like a dream. You are aware that Gill has repeatedly reiterated that ALL teams are safe. I have not heard anything different from Dillon or any fantasy gurus. Rest easy your post is not going to send any shock waves as it merely sounds like scuttle but.

  6. No but he is a better player than you give him credit for OD. Considering he will be still 21 yrs when we first start Round1 in 2025. You wanted a 30 goal forward in a recent post and then said how he might kick 40 a season if not required to back up as a second ruck. As I have posted he is still only 21 and averages approx. 1.5 goals per game, very reasonable over 41 games. He can improve his two grab marks to become a one grabber more often and yes if he is not required in the ruck for relief or another big forward or any of Turner Petty Jeffo can improve or our draft pick can star it will give Rooyie a lot more support. I quite like him in the ruck as he is reasonably competitive and it gets him in the game. He could also be handy acting as a defender down back as a relief ruck considering he has played at full back in Junior competitions National and state. A very promising forward key position player he clearly has more levels to go to before he reaches his career zenith. Can’t wait for this and 2025 might be this year of forfullment.

In time like Round1 1st quarter. Why do people say about recruits in time, in future, in the next year or two, in about two or three years. Really age is not relevant in some instances. Looking at his highlights he is the style of player we need this year for the next decade or more.
  8. Correction 4 Flags. 2007 9,11, and 2022. But point takenDS.
  9. Jagga spoke with Gettable yesterday and admitted he has changed his approach after being spoken to by a coaching staff at his Coates club. He said that he is now chalking up much more metres covered as a result of it being pointed out that he did not progress enough over the ground. The film clip highlights may well be from early season 2024 and also you watching these leads you Dee to pass your observation. I would prefer Tauru at 5 and the best mid available for our outside footy available at 9. Did like the highlights of Smith thought a bit of Ashcroft in his breakaways and speed. Not upset of we get Jagga or Langford or Lindsay or Allan or even if we get a mid at 5 then Shanahan at 9. JT will get us 2 aces no doubt but one tall and one mid with pace and skill is what we need.
  10. My understanding is that it was not behind the FD back and Diamond Jim is not asserting that In his post.
  11. That does not really say what’s happened to Blake in his first 3/4 years with injury. He showed last year enough in 15 games he has the ability and potential development with his body and footy brain to get to a higher standard quickly. Jake does set high standards but I am confident Nlake will develop into an AFL player either HB or HF maybe a wing possibly. I feel along with Kolt he has probably a higher level of improvement available to go in 2025 and look forward to seeing him achieve that. He is slso a very deep thinker about his footy also.
  12. Contrary to OD and BBP I am more bullish about Blake. As with many younger players after a series of games he was sent back to the Casey Demons and st the end after Round 23 was back starting vs Suns. Has great upside and looking forward to see what Blake can do off half back or even up forward in 2025.

Not all are list cloggers sharpe Howes can play forward also and remember he has had two seasons marred by injury. Might be also better with a few kilos added but not Essential. The other 4 may if given opportunities especially MacAdam if fit and Fullarton maybe a key position even down back might be ok. But yes Laurie and Billings need a real lift to be regulars.
  14. 58er replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Agreed and Tauru might go to North also at 2.
  15. Yes I understand those players you mentioned have had good wraps but I guess we haven’t got the patience if the right players are available at 5 and 9. TBH if we got Tauru and then 2 others mids/ highly skilled forward I would be happy also. I am bullish with both Sharp and PupBrown in our mid mix as well as Riv and Kossie and Judd in cameos. I also want Windsor placed in the centre position for his skills direct style and also potential goal kicking adding potency to our attack. Think he is a natural Chad Warner in waiting. The more play he is in the better our footy. Same with Kossie in some ways.
  16. Really it should as if we had got Derksen may be a KPF like Armstrong or Tauru could have been shelved and two mids concentrated on. I believe we need another tall and versatile if possible. Tauru with his marking and X factor is IMO a no brainer as a future star and just the excitement machine with Windsor and possibly Kolstrup to add much needed flair and youth enthusiasm to our list. Our mid should be a skilled runner rather than a bull. Not all KPP ‘s take 2 years but if so then so be it. Our existing ones are a year older and ready to go more than ever.
  17. UD Jefferson is not miles off but very close and why isn’t The Duke Caleb Included as he is skill personified. ? Agree with Boy oh boy why not go to 54 and 55 JT might find two diamonds in the back paddock. FFS players are judged by experts on their firm and skill over say 2 years and especially the last 10 games. Yes this draft is agreed that it is much deeper than other years but also that there is elite skill in say the top 15 to 20. But if the best players are available for our list why risk a 20 plus pick if others before are judged better even if you might get 2 for 1. Melbourne needs a couple of A graders so why go in a lottery. We need to get at least one highly skilled running mid ( not a bull) who kicks well and IMO one of Tauru or Armstrong for our forward or key positions to join our other versatile KPPlayers. Let’s hope JT can snare two beauties from 5 an9. BTW Fritta was 28 I think and Riv 32. Tmac 53!!
  18. That’s not hopefully the pick realistically for us. One tall and one mid is best for our needs and both styles are there for us to share our best needs as well. My best are *Tauru/Armstrong at5andLindsay/Langford*/ Smith at 9. Good luck JT. preferred player*
  19. Did very well with disposal I thought. Was composed and can’t wait to see Blake develop with more bulk and strength. HB or HF he will surprise us all I think with his development. Should aim to play AFL all year in 2025.

Stick to politics Hawk. Footy not your forte. Off field will be too tough also as Green and Smith save us from the PL rabble. Stop trying to ruin the Club. You’re destabilising the team and football department. Let the Reviews take their course. Your crowd cannot satisfy our members so please think of the Club first and not yourselves.

The facility has fairly strong amenities included for local sport and participation in the plans not just for us. OD. Please get the facts correct it doesn’t help the case especially when criticism of third parties is inaccurate and ill informed.

Well Demonsome we just don’t have an original home ground to just start off. You know that so why blame Gary Pert that we have finally a destination in an inner city area close to our major fan base in the SE suburbs. A number of places have been mooted near the MCG over time and ruled out by Govt or local needs already established. In the meantime we have had Casey developed for our AFLW teams and VFL shared for our seconds. Where do you think we should have got by now ? Are you happy with Caulfield as it is the middle of a business plan stage after it passed feasibility stage just recently by Local parties involved ?
  23. Sharp is a running half forward on ball half forward flanker with extreme pace and very good tank. Ie a forward Happy ??! Demonsome? And we have Picks 5 and 9 to use at draft Either a forward ( Armstrong or Tauru) might be selected and a highly regarded mid from a selection of approx. 13 mids from pick 1 to 15. ( some nga or father/ son selections which won’t affect clubs as they will be gained by having the required points available. We may use pick 83 to get a diamond in the rough. You will recall Derk W from GWS was approached and not let go. A 195 cm for / back / ruck. Also our Key forwards are below 24 mostly 22 to 18 very young and are just gaining confidence and only Fritta and Kossie are steady goal kickers with Trac and Chandler adding to the scoreboard regularly. Our best years are ahead starting now in 2025. BTW who would you have got via this trade for our list in 2025??
  24. Exactly what are the “ needs every where Dee? “ Rucks 1 and 2 fine and 1 backup in VFL that hopefully can fast track Defenders plenty of flankers available from Salem to AMW who I think you canned for fitness after one quarter??? KPbacks need Adams to get a move on and Maysie for a good full season injury free certainly not ribs. Hard not to see either Petty or Turner to spend a stint in defence during the season. Or during some games perhaps. But that is versatility that we have so any needs can be addressed immediately in quarter or for the next few weeks. Mids Depends upon how you look Half glass FULL or empty. I am going full for good if not great seasons from Trac and Clarry Jack not getting injured and Rivers bring nearly full time on the ball and hopefully a more busy Sparrow who might start getting the first worms for a change. McVee plus Kossie for cameos up to 7:8 a match. And Sharp and Pup Brown for badly needed pace and youth. I mid top 10 draft also included as near ready made. Centreline Switch Windsor to the centre for greater connectivity and goals scored than on a wing. Langdon Bowey Sharp AMW could be on opposite side to Lingers Forwards KPF JVR Petty Disco Fullarton Kentfield Armstrong/ Tauru ? Gawn and Petracca bonuses mid group Fritta Melky Howes ( try him upforward if isn’t in half back position ) smalls Kossie Chandler McAdam Sharp AMW Spargo Petracca Sparrow Clarry Viney Windsor Interchange Those that don’t make it above in 23. Sub rule looks unchanged. Send Goodwin to a lecture on all possibilities that you can use and selection C tree also. Game Plan also needs firing up for more pace intensity and positivity. With new Assistants Coaches flexibility and ideas should be changes made to our game plan also. Take the game on through the corridor more through the Duke and be ready to go forward in the GHz Over to you Dee most players can lift from average seasons in 2024 to better some considerably others 1%ers and a third category availability.
  25. Not if we pick him or Tauru whoever is available at 5 first which could happen. A good/ great mid will still be available at 9 if two forwards are chosen in the first 8! Allan Lindsay Smillie Hotton Reid Travaglia may all be available. Happy Days IMO a gun forward duo that most have agreed both tick the box or about 6/7 still top15 prospects full of mids to choose whatever suits you best. Langford at 9 would be a dream that probably won’t come true but you can always hope. Go get’’em JT Two ready made stars ( or almost).
