  1. Caleb runs so gracefully smoothly and effortlessly he will leave a legacy also from his career. The greatness in his run in none or heavy traffic is the end result goal usually through the absolute middle, or his short pass and his long beautiful torpedo floating with speed through the air to our advantage. He is a craftsman of a high order on the footy field. Magnificent to watch and we are the lucky ones with 250 games ahead to enjoy. Let’s not forget our other first year star in Blake Howes. Again he is so clean and. Never hurried and disposes do stylishly and accurately with the footy from the back. Easy on the eye just as Juddy and Bowser four stars with very good disposal to assist our forwards and mids keep the ball in our hands at long last.
  2. No we have May Lever Tmac and Hore or Petty. Four of those have played in a premiership team and 2 are All Australian. I’ll take them any day before Pierce who is a good player in his own right but not as decorated as our elite team defence.
  3. Glad to hear of our very promising response after last week. I posted last week that the over the top criticism of many D/Lers of the first round defeat did not reflect the state of our depth and this effort has shown a truer reflection of our young and developing group. Great to hear of Kolt Kynan AMW Matty J Jed Adams Fullarton Verrall and Sestan showing some real promise of their ability. Well done on todays effort all concerned.
  4. We played Essendon on the Sat last year and lost.
  5. Who says Harry or JVR can’t play CHF as well as FF. Your post is confusing and overlooks the fact that I’m ONE year we won a flag. Our response has been disappointing but this year we hope to have all forward players fit and available for a serious tilt.
  6. No you say we will Roost it. HP may not be of that opinion if things keep going and the Crows continue in free fall till the season’s end. They look as far away from a flag and Nicks is beside himself with no obvious method to get his squad out of its malaise. And they are not only one players short but about 5 when Tex Sloane Crouch are over the hill.
  7. Just to fully inform the 14 days in SA was required isolation in Coved protocols and I live in Brisbane and was not doing a Burbank and friend heist of Australian borders.
  8. Deever sorry but you are becoming a regular naysayer recently. Gather Round and our draw etc. Rejecting prices that you don’t like ( your absolute privilege) but we need some occasions in our lives that are a little overpriced as well as the bargains we can gloat about for years. I missed out in the ticket frenzy for my SA cousin and myself. Luckily his lovely wife got busy and two family outlaw Crows fans who were going away and had contacts rescued us. Yes I am staying at cousin land in suburban Adelaide now for 5 days for 2 bottles of great Penfolds wine for the tickteers and about 2 shouts of lunch/dinner at Adelaide’s sensational dining scene for dinner/lunch. Now that’s the bargain ! But 2021 is the hero story. Stayed in SA for 2 weeks with relies and did a Kangaroo Is plus up country to my fathers birthplace in the Copper area of Moonta and to Clare for some wine relief. Off to Perth GF Eve for the big games vs the Dogs. Waited all my life ( am in 70,s now) had friend in Perth spare bedroom me for 5 days and soaked up all that glorious event could offer for our long awaited 13th flag. The catch !! Ticket price was $456 for the GF good seat however on Angus 3rd quarter wing!! Too much for the ticket ?? Reject it?? No it is priceless and so many memories. BTW I consider $ 200 about the upper limit to concerts for superstars or stage shows. Yes Gather Round maybe not quite the same but life is living and it’s a probable once only to be cherished and enjoyed.
  9. There is no doubt that the best in Bailey Laurie is good enough to survive and prosper in the AFL. His contribution in the last quarter vs Swans in Sydney in Round 24 last season showed how he can be a valuable and classy link in our moving the ball forward. He actually has in and around pack handball and kicking traits that are elite and extremely valuable in heavy traffic and potentially in the wet if Tarax Club proves right. The problem is they have not been on show consistently enough in the VFL regularly and in grabbing a game by the neck and leading others to a famous victory against all odds. In other words shining above others to grab his spot. Perhaps the list managers are using the Chandler approach of extreme patience. Now we undoubtedly lost Bedford because of that show of faith resulting in frustrating lack of AFL occasional opportunities for Toby. Now Chin is another Nibbler in training heart and soul and needs to bring his absolute best in goal scoring to add to his tackling and pressure acts on the forward line at this stage in his career. Bailey can play but the 64,000 dollar question is his ability to maintain for a whole game and what place in the team and who he will replace when his opportunity again arises. At best a Sub role is best suited until he does bridge the gap in cameos of high quality and consistent team performances. Over to you Bailey and the Coaches and maybe our resident psychologist. Good luck let’s hope it’s worth the ride and admission price.
  10. Max Papley says hi!
  11. We’d all take Jacko back no doubt and Scott Thompson. That’s exactly why we don’t want him to go. My point is you are saying that we don’t play hard ball it won’t matter we till get a replacement. Well mu point is why haven’t get one when we have a beauty already to blossom in the hardest place on the ground Full forward. That first quarter mark he took says it all. Equal to Fritta’s later in the game. His hands were foot and half above any others. That’s his difference to other players and wins by matches. Perhspsxwe might be smarter and let him play a few early games back and get him really in good nick perhaps with a cameo or two up forward to sweeten his form. again think about his far too small 10 minutes up forward vs Lions in the 2022 Semi. Have no doubt if Goody had pulled that rabbit at 3/4 time we could have turned that game into a win with Harry at FF. A match winner and they are very hard to find let alone keep. That's why Criws definitely want him as he will be their missing backline puzzle no doubt if we give him the chance,
  12. Well I am a bit closer than you and see him as part of the answer for us in 2024/5. A ready made player forward or back even on Sat haven’t back and helped save any goal rush from the Hawks. Will show us now in SA how good he is. S as nd having got his commitment for 2024 and contracted till end of 2025 you just want the easy way out and trade him. Great way to run a Club. Biggest asset for Clubs are their players and Harry is one of our brightest stars for the next 5/10 yesrs.
  13. Great summary and great recognition of one of our true heart and soul players. JV Does get forgotten a bit with Gawny Trac and Clarry but equally as well respected and responsible in the theme of our footy. Will be there for the Gather Round match and can’t wait for this block of 3 games inc. Lions to show us where we are in 2024. Go Dees.
  14. It’s a difficult one that the rule could be called the Dustin Martin Rule. 98% would be fine I think so the 2% might just have to go in with the Coach after a match.
  15. Like a friend of mine in our Cricket Club last century I always said “l’d rather play with him than he play for the opposition “ Thats Gawny !! Also to a tee.
  16. Totally agree Tony I was screaming for him to hand pass in the first half !!!
  17. Omitted that Blake had had long injuries layoffs in both 2022 and 2023 so total games in VFL have been reduced hence the fast track similarity to McVee especially. Windsor is a highly skilled and smooth fast moving player who will only get better in the environment of our AFL team.
  18. In total time yes but in number of VFL games and development I think he has bridged the gap as quick as Judd. He looks every inch an AFL player in his 3 first games just as Judd did from first practice match in 2023.
  19. Really unimpressed with the comments on the Casey Dees and our AFL contingent after the first real match. Going through The players not there and naming Harmesy Dunstan JJ as missing. Get a life they are not our AFL future any more. To keep them on our list was considered and rejected. JJ had a right to go. I reckon every one who has posted has questioned these players ability to be an AFL Player over the last 2/3 years and y to get their long term role at our Club. ONE game in and surprise surprise up bobs their names as date I say it NOT THERE ie missing!!!’ The role of Casey is to feed through players of potential for our AFL and any team success is a BONUS. Experience is the common ingredient missing from most of the 12 AListed who represented Casey from the Dees yesterday. That's why it looked a sort of a shambles plus due to our stuff up in the Finals of over estimating numbers of potential reserves needed for our AFL QF and Semi decimating the Casey team in the Finals and no doubt resulting in a walk out or two. It’s the very good Casey guys that were missed more so yesterday. Now our list of players have not weakened or strengthened their AFL careers as if losing yesterday at all. ONE swallow does not maketh a summer. Woe Kolt Pup Kynan AMW Adams Verrall Tommo Schache MJ KFW and one other are all depth at different stages and promising as well. No vhsnge from yesterday morning. All the better for the run and experience. Fat Tony and of course our resident Mr Negativity Poita have written all of the boys as above as no chance or too this or that. Cool the jets. We only need 4 or 5 to continue to show and improve to be back ups. For 2024 Woe AMW Pup and Kolt plus Tommo ( Disco Sestan as well) are legitimate depth potential who are likely to improve as the season progresses. Thsts what Casey provides. If you have a stronger list with more experience at Casey then you may have a successful team as well. It’s about the players not the team performance that is the most vital for the Dees. Yhe cticism from one poster of Kolt was disgraceful and unnecessary and MJ is a whipping boy of many. Players develop at completely differently levels in underage comps. You don’t throw your son or daughter out if they don’t walk by 10/12 mths and purchase another baby from the state authorities. Calm down snd look at the REAL objective of Casey and the inexperience of most of our depth which is exactly what’s needed st this stage. Howes Duke McVee etc are only a very good example of fast tracked AFL players contributing to our AFL success. There is no doubt thst A couple of others are there nearly as ready but we ate ridiculously impatient and overly judgemental in our expectations. The club is developing nicely at a fair pace as results are showing. It’s not s as instant so show some sense about our projected plans for recruits fgs.
  20. That’s what we got Fullarton for!
  21. That’s what we got Fullarton for!!!
  22. They’re clearly enjoying playing this style of footy. It’s evident it’s starting from the bounce and the joy is first directed through Trac and Clarry etc. We are playing for each other also. No coincidence that BBB and Tmac are at each end of the ground nurturing this love as well. Plenty of help on each line which makes a team effort possible. Long may it continue.
