I am saying we were not POOR as much as you said and we set up some defence and learnings last season which have been extended this year in our plans and form. ie we weren't so poor as you said in 2020 in fact a good development year in prep for 2021.' Ph

Goal of the Year - Kysaiah "The Messiah" Pickett

Was nominated but so was Kossies vs Saints which we should support as superior by far Included getting ball then evasion through heavy traffic and pirroetting on non preferred foot to snap a Left foot blinder! -
Goal of the Year - Kysaiah "The Messiah" Pickett

Doesnt stop you supporting Kossie for G of the Year!!! Love all our goals in the finals!!! -
Still as I posted earlier in this topic a short term and " Non Demon historical decision" for Roosy. one can argue that without Jim Stynes we would also be cooked. Our last flag is in the Barassi era snd our Glory Years and it's so Much more appropriate to link the presentation to our previous successful era. That's not to under state what PJ and Roosy did. That's exactly what we wanted ( Glen Bartlett also) and the AFL. If you are of a younger age CBF I understand that the Roos era is the most important along with Jimmy Stynes. BUT the Club has a glorious history ( albeit a long time ago) and every player and off field Board member and volunteer are deserving of thanks whether in say 1975 or say 2015!! A Club legend if possible RDB should be the appropriate person to hand the Cup over. Failing that the Wiz or even Glen Bartlett if in WA are 2 possibilities. in 2022 if we unfurl the glad it's then time for more recent "heroes" and older ones if failing to participate on Sept 2021 to be involved. Think RDB was chosen in 2000 but can't remember fully! David Neitz would also not be out of place in this role. Sadly I guess Neil Daniher is also out of the question! Quarsntining is going to make this a very hard choice if we have to make it.

Poor enough last year to have 107% !! and more wins than losses. ONE bad game in 2020 vs port TWO others not great bs Dogs and Eagles TWO AFL and poor culture losses in CAIRNS Rest were wins by good margins and when our defence started to evolve we beat Saints and GWS. Looking back last 9 games were 6/3 so we started to launch part of our defence style and 2020 was not wasted PLUS games into Dogga Kossie Riv and Langers and Tommo.!! not so poor after all YB ???

No in any context for our Club ( I love Roost's role etc) but the Cup handover is a traditional Club position and must be a famous and popular Demon from now or yesteryear. RDB would be No 1 at MCG but not possible in Perth probably Maybe a Zoom inclusion snd him saying he is handing it to say Wiz or If possible John Beckwith or a Glory Days multiple premiership player (John is still alive and well as far as I know) if he could get to Perth. Difficulty is the quarantining requirement of course. The Unfurling if the flag I 2022 would by default now be bigger as RDB etc SamStyenes could both Asher this along with Kate Roffey perhaps.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAKE BOWEY

He is possibly going to replicate Joel Sellwood's career. Not necessarily as Captain Either Riv or Dogga could have that parcelled up for the 2027,s on !!! -
Good suggestion but RDB must be in a ceremony at some time of recognition officially also.
-
His season was as Predicted on his potential we nigh he has more than doubled with greater accuracy stronger body work and tackling and overall marking strength going up a couple of notches. Lets not underestimate the BBB Tmac Dogga and Maxy influence which makes it so much easier for Bailey to go freely at the ball for his marks and leads. If Bailey kicks 3/4 in the next 2 games he is very unlucky not to be AA.

Don't think that FOUR will be on the bench should we salute (comfortably) on Sept 25th. Interesting speculation for the future maybe!!! Wonderful rotations on this bench of older, champion, and very youthful players must also help in injury and freshness of this team. Congratulations Simon and your troops all of you we are indeed in good hands ( and brains as well). So significant that Maxy's last quarters in R 23 and QUAL Final were his best. He just looks as fresh as new with Jacko Tmac and Big Ben all sharing the round the ground ruck duties. Talk about sharing the load and being team first. !!! Let's just keep going as well as possible and keep our heads down and bum up producing an honest and team effort from all concerned.

How are you judging Bailey after last night Rpfc? Ageist a top 4 team. Has 50 plus goals now!!!:

Agree completely Y

We have Lockhart but won't give him a go. !!! Pray tell ??? Yes he needs a bit of finishing off but is not out of place IMO.

Absolutely Paul thank you for the part your Club played in his development. Your members must be so proud as no doubt would his parents etc. and now all the Dees fans. He is looking at a special Joel Selwood type career !! Msybe not 35 Finals but I hope so but the finals so early in career. Go Bowser!! And Go Dees. -
Thanks BBP will further check tomorrow !

Fork Look at them again 1. He made the tackle lower by lowering himself slightly. This has happened 25,000 times in decisions of around the neck 2. Replay from different angle showed it was much stronger arm hit to head than at first shown. ( was still there before however) 3. Defender clearly had CW in hold with his arm early then as ball approached it was released to loosely around body. 4. Not there Remember I said that some were light but nevertheless the frees were there and were paid but just happened to be in front of goal. This season umpires are paying very soft neck and holding frees in general play so up forward is also on the agenda. Holding ball became almost redundant up to 2/3 rounds ago but is now back on the agenda. Can't see any thing more about it than this !!
-
Only the push out of bounds was not there! Yes the others were on the light side but they were free kicks which just happened to be near the goals.
-
Hopefully me from Qld.
-
They the Club don't make those rules and couldn't I suspect just change a ticket OR a GFGuarantee for transfer. I have GF Guarantee and havent given up yet on attending if WA Govt makes decisions on Qld border arrangements.

Lever not better than Tommy S ( who was good but not ahead of Lever ).
-
We have again kept our opponent ( the highest scorers this season) to 60 , 5 points below our 2021 abbey age and you want to drop 2 defenders. Yes I would like Hibbo in and Hunty also but NOT at Boweys expense. He was understandardably a little nervous early on but finished the game snd last half brilliantly. Smith was ok but if he was on Charlie Cameron early he was very loose. Not sure who matched up all day! only one change Hunty or Hibbo for Smithy perhaps.
-
Sparrow also tackled brilliantly and played his part !
-
No it's not Tmac provides backup and needs minding Can also play down back if needed. Our ground ball issues in defence far outway any Tmac fiorm worries. Mark my words Tmac will be needed to combat Alair in GF. Other talls cdm then star as they did tonight. if it ain't broken don't fix it!
-
Yes but Jonesy should get in ahead of Vanders no matter what.

How young were you when Barass last raised the cup?
58er replied to TasJohnsonFanClub's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was in year 11 at High School and after the game which the whole family listened to I raced down to my best friends place and celebrated briefly with them. They we're fanatical Demons and we followed. We were invited to come down and watch the TV replay if the whole game afterwards shot 6 pm. I was 16 but no drink allowed!! But very pleasant yome of course, We had tried to get tickets in the Hun but missed out. There were 4 of us Mim Dad and sister snd we went to about 5/6 matches at the G in 1964. We sat in the first rows of the Southern Stand and got there early to watc h the Reserves. In 1965 we got our first Membership Tickets each ( I am a 57 year continuous Member ) and moved interstate for work In 1993 and still got a seasons ticket each year. Started coming down more regularly in 2016 as Dad got older and our Rebuild3 was probing successful. Dad passed away In 2019 Sadly no MC G this year but still looking yo get to WA if possible if we make it. Will be very surprised if we don't win a flag OR TWO with this team starting this year!! Go Dees
