  1. West gets far too close to on the mark when kicking and doesn't use the stand on the mark to her advantage or Look to handball and she is so poor a kick that she is almost a liability when she gets the ball although I can't question her aggression and attitude to compete. Our conversion all day was pathetic with Harris Hore and others missing straight forward shots on the run from less than 25m out. Should have been about 10.4 really So we are even with Harris Pearce and now Hore finding form still unreliable on the forward line. I was unimpressed last week and not much more yesterday as most of our goals resulted from frees and GWS below average defence. Many of the teams just underneath have a far better team game and plan than us and don't fumble as much or drop marks. We have not progressed from last season in team play only that Tayla is covering up many cracks snd our size in defence and strength over the ball is average at best With most just thrown or bustled in contests and no clean disposal to set up clean attacking moves. We almost always find the most difficult way to play snd mess up any good attacks. Right now it will need a miracle to beat Crows Freo and Lions and 50/50 vs North. We need Casey for our best Finals results. On the same front there is no doubt it makes it far harder to play "good standard " footy in such windy conditions at Casey but our great record stands up against all teams there but not so much away in far better conditions at protected style grounds. That will ultimately be a make or break for us unless we discover our mojo up forward and our game plan is simplified or perfected.
  2. That's a typing errror clearly not an accuracy issue with Sparrow ANB yes 2 goals instead of Salem so one each. To be fair there could well be far worse inaccuracies elsewhere as it's not just a mag about the Dees but just that we are hanging onto any articles that remotely refer to our 2021 triumph. Your point in reality is very valid as they have had 4 months to come up with this historical annual publication and the AFL should get it right. Of course the AFL have had such VIP issues as listening to Chris Scott suggesting 5 months later why the Prelim was not delayed ( probably until Tom Stewart was fully fit from his leg injuries. Etc.and that Covid or the mysterious local Perth Flu might be over by then).
  3. Something is not quite right about buying a membership pack late September before the Grand Final or after? Have you checked your credit card ? Did you only buy the membership to get a Cap? FFS ring the membership Dept. and speak to them. With your info!! Buy one !! there are plenty to choose at the Demon Shop and they have Premiers on them now!! Scarves and Caps are often given out with membership pack but scarves are more the norm .
  4. Sorry who is Meggs? Margaret ???
  5. They more than often mix it up as the session goes by. They are not that rigid not to be flexible. Give them some credit as it is mentioned often when players or " defence of the red team" changed .... ! Good point but we are so lucky to have smart Coaches ( and players) now.
  6. No wonder Parents didn't want their kids playing against Jack V when he was in under age footy. Might be the same for Intra Club practice match sim also!!
  7. Why we don't need Riv "in the guts". One day in the future we may need need to switch him there during a game but I think Clarry Jack Trac and Co are doing just fine so are our wingers and centre men. We ste developing depth in defence but if it's not broken don't need to fix it.
  8. Sorry MCW in case you haven't noticed recently the majority of the Australian population in late 2021 and 2022 are dying in Old Age Homes due to the pandemic. To make light if this in this manner comparing it to a real life issue affecting many thousands of Australian people is both insensitive and unnecessary. Its not a matter to just say lighten up a bit It's the saddest part of the Covid pandemic. And you should be respectful of the pain of many who are losing loved ones during these Covid times. You are in fact the one who should be examining your reaction. You wouldn't say what was written ( hopefully) out loud live so don't put it in print either.
  9. We'll never know will we cause he never reviewed the game.! But I can say at least it wasn't Covid.!!!
  10. Thanks QB got a real laugh from your comments. What a joke Chris Scott is. And he seems so serious !!
  11. Me too D17 Another analagy Who would you wish to play on at half back against The Dees Hibbo or Joel Smith? And I think Joel was making some good gains in the last half if 2021. Lets Hope he gets a really full go at it all season and we may see the good that our Coach sees in him at last. Good luck Smithy.
  12. Fantastic coverage DS boy it's nonstop out at Casey on Training day. Everyone having a dip and no shirkers. Way to go Dees. Thanks DS
  13. Great reports from both of you and great thanks also from us who can't be so lucky.
  14. Not a comment that helps this post. Imagine if someone you knew a friend or relative has passed on due to Covid in an Aged Care home.
  15. I would have thought Riv would have been much more concerned how the " smile effect" on his teeth with his surgery far more than Dogga as he could easily transition to a career in modelling or some such promotional opportunity. But that's why we love Dogga not fazed by broken tooth and newspaper highlights to boot!! The ultimate team man who seemlessly has taken over about 30 mins of Maxy's ruck work his 2 seasons career!!
  16. What works for Jeremy Howe from FIGJAM certainly not for Maysie who would need a strong argument to be persuaded. Saw his hit on that unfortunate Lion at the Gabba five years ago and our Stephen definitely plays for keeps. And we would have thought that Hibbo was previously a new breed of tough!!! Silly us! PS That in no way diminishes Hibbo as he has been deservedly rewarded as a premiership hero by good years more than not and a loyal and committed team man who was of AA standard in 2017.putting his peptides experiences well into the past and wiping them out at the same time and sadly his own family tragedy to boot early in 2021.
  17. But like Sally in Neighbours who " grew up" in about 4 episodes from 10 to 15 years!!!
  18. Apologies It's a silver and gold Cup and I won't ever forget that !!!
  19. Guys the world authority on footy crowds ( all crowds probably) BT said when it' was 10 mins to go NO ONE has left! All are waiting for the end of the game etc. NO MORE to be said I presume. PS Channel 7 Sack BT he talks mainly rubbish.
  20. Yes of course but OD is old school about most things. He never even acknowledged the wind difficulty of last night. Seriously I don't want seriously overweight players in MFC but the oppo can please themselves. The latest ad Daisy is on from Nab on jumpers for the girls deliberately features one girl similar to Sarah Perkins but that ad is meant for any girls who play not for AFLW who have their jumpers etc provided by the AFL Clubs. Our game was contested and congested and too many ball ups are occurring. The wind at Casey interferes with the standard of the game but mostly gives us a very large home ground advantage if we kick reasonably straight. Girls can improve but Coach has it all to do again like last year if we are to get anywhere near a Flag.
  21. IN Anyone that can kick straight and any mid or back that doesn't fumble !!!
  22. Who cares about the lacking fitness you allege . Perkins has always been that weight and played in a Crows premiership side. She was the biggest danger to our backs and ruck of all their players and contributed as always. That doesn't diminish the game. The AFLW practices diversity so how can they refuse Sarah to play. She was better than any of our forwards last night than Taylor/Pearce who are forming a threat to the opposition. Pity the other forwards can't join in the symmetry or kick straight.
  23. Goals should be 7 not 2 !!!
  24. Here here I was on the wing / half forward line in a Melb section on the public side of the ground and thought exactly the same from half time to Bonts goal. When you look at the game again our defenders saved the game by only allowing 2 goals in half a quarter of footy .Digs had attacked and then if by manic we clicked into gear with 2 goals to establish our claim on the Flag. It was never in doubt from 3/4 time on as we finished far too strong for the Doggies in one of greatest Finals wins ever. So well deserved by everyone in the Red and Blue team and supporters!
