Hibbo was charmed by Hunty and Smithy being injured and had to contest with Bowey for a half back/ back pocket vacancy after the Qual. Final. As usual the Selectors made the right choice sndHibbo did not let us down. Good stopping contested games saw him emerge as part of the best backline in the AFL/ VFL for many years and is now a premiership player. Secretly I am glad he took his opportunity and that he will be there in 2022 to mind the bigger bodied forwards and mids of the opposition. Maybe that same 23 will be named in Round1 and Hibbo can be part of that record for the AFL and our Club.

Yes it was Dee 75 A life changing event with good stories all around it. Hard to come down from this although I had to check in 2 days after my return to Brisbane for an elective surgery Cardioversion I was able to put off to ensure this dream was able to be real!!! Go Dees for back to Back at the G in '22.

Absolutely look at Brownies 2nd we mark and goal agsin and see Gawny in front of his opponent enabling BBB to do exactly what we recruited his for ie to kick clutch and big goals!! Was stoked with BBB in the Granny ad he marked well could have had at least another 3 marks really with a bit more glue on the hands. But best teamwork from Gawny which you need from big players to win Finals. Well done big boys Max BBB Tommy and Jacko. A great team within a team.

Thanks Cards Still pinching myself that it all came true!! Guess after 57 years you have to takes chance a little bit but really it was a no brainer. Boy really want to emulate this year next season with Finals at the G BTW How good has it been the way every person in the Club have embraced this extraordinary achievement. we are very lucky Dees supporters at the moment with such a humble and respectable group of players that make us feel so proud of them not only as players but superb examples of young men in every different way they knocked out of the way the challenges during 2021 and embraced their success all along the way never taking their eyes off the ball. And virtually drama free as well. Hats off to them and the Club from the new Pres down to the staffers who all played their part and deserved very success that came our way. A season to remember and one fir the Ages ( and record books)

and Dunstan!!

With the name Turner Daniel should be receiving your name support for his career Turner. Close call but Hore still not a regular so has no place to defend. Younger player has more upside I believe.
-
Turner vs Hore more upside in Turner as he may be a KPP in defence down the track. Hore a little unlucky due to injury but 3 years and not a regular spot can't keep with younger prospects for AFL appear classier and more suited to our defence. Turner may well be Petty's replacement when he replaces May after his retirement.

Didn't seem to be any problem of our disposal Redleg when we launched our great 7 goals in 17 mins NOR the 9 goal last quarter crowning glory our best for the season!!! Snd I saw it live !!! Best Footy by the Mighty Demons in the 62 years I have been attending matches. As Daisy (or someone else) said on the commentary "Melbourne are playing that good they can make and clean up their mistakes in the one piece of play". Perhaps Redleg it's a case where the theory does not match the practice. Kangas May one day be looking for a positive stats man Please consider joining them and giving yourself a real challenge!!! -
Dare you to provide a certificate or proof of authenticity ET. Why only 7 signatures?? Are there any on the other side.? Did you get this from Ricky Nixon. Never heard of the brand of football either must be a $2 shop one! Have you had any nibbles yet ET? Any reliable explanation about the ball? MAYBE ITS ALL A PRETTY DISTASTEFUL JOKE. Wouldn't even qualify as a present for the Little Leaguers. Best to take it off this post and bin it as in bad taste.

One bloke calls him a rugby player !! Some others have lined Jack up Ho to the Trade Jack Biney I think or Drop Jack Biney posts and you will see. Nsyurally most if not all have gone to ground in light of the steams fzbulois form and results.

No this us for MFC only or Auction supporters. Think of all the kids parents that have barracked for the Dees since their childhood It's a premiership Unfurlingvdsy and I tjink it's open for all of sus but we have to support the Auction planty if other home games to be a mascot The kids may have rich grandparents anyway!!'

Was "quarantining" for 14 days in SA ( heading to WA for the Granny)with my cousins and hired a car and headed for the Copper Coast ( Moonta) on the St Vincent's Gulf where my father grew up. The Heritage Listed Moonta Mines has plenty of history and leaving one highlight I went to get back on the Adelaide/Moonta Highway only to see a Demon flag proudly flapping in the breeze at a homestead on the link road.Took a photo of it but my ignorance has prevented me from posting it attached or in the Flag Flying post in D/L recently. Wonderful 3 weeks 16 days in SA and 5 in WA culminating in the best tjing in my 73 years happening whi knows how many more we may enjoy with such a team ethos and superb list yo choose from. Great venue Optus and the noise!!! BTW you are pro sly thinking how did he get there from Vic well I live in Brisbane ( for 28 years ) and are a 55 consecutive year Dees member with GFG since 2018. Want to see a flag at the G just as much next year.!!

I'm not sure but I think Gawny made sure BBB got a good run at it for the msrk also. Another reason for the 4 big men in the forward line.

As zi have said previously Garbo sometimes your name reflects what you write. This is one of those slip ups. Fogga has turned about 4/5 games this year Hss improved in every aspect of his game and has the ball handling skills of a rover! He runs all day and is a great team man. And he was 19 when the Finals started!!! Hive him a break. The Club are doing all the right things and will do it agsin with Doggs. He deserves a medium salary contract on say a four year term back loaded. A generational player who we should get plus 200 sensational games out of and a couple of more flags at least. on ya Dogga

I'll admit DR D the kick he had smothered I was right behind and felt he could have handpassef out in front of another player to collect as he was 2/2 metres in front of Harmes. But he will now forever be remembered for the exquisite collect and pass over 50 m straight to Fritta 15:/30 metres out on the lead.and to his favoured side. This of course got the now famous "7 in 17 minutes heroics" which ultimately changed the game on its head and we never looked back. This without doubt the best quarter and a half Of Demons footy I have ever been fortunate to see in 62 years going each week from 1965 to 1993 and about 5/6 games each year since from interstate. Yes Harmesy can forever say he started the run of goals ( 16 out of 17) that changed the Final and resulted in our wonderful drought breaking and so well deserved first AFL premiership and 13th VFL/AFL Flag. We are now only 3 behind Blues and Bombers (16) and within 2 of the Pies (15) and equal with Tigers and Hawks in Premierships. One would have to be confident that we could make inroads into these figures considering our age demographics and talent and team attributes.

That's quite a confession that it's likely you have criticised or blasphemed all of our players?? I think the inference was that it needs to be a constant repeated almost torching if a player NOT a statement on a one off match or contest. Most have criticised players but the constant repetition snd harsh bias directed at players is a different matter which I think this is the area where an apology is considered necessary. Criticism about career ending or trade offs or dropping to the VFL or quite vicious attacks personally towards certain players eg ANB , Charlie Spargo and most unfortunately even Jack Biney come to mind. Around 2019 even Trac had people calling for him to be traded and Clarry even managed to get a few when the " "Carlton move" hit the posts last year. of course Goody had faced more than most over the journey with 2019 and 2020 resulting in nearly every one having an opinion on our now much loved and history making Coach. No wonder he was thinking the things in 2019 snd his future in the game!!!

"Cheuapness " has nothing to do with it. Ability counts and yes very few Injuries and great form did not require us to change the team very often. What the players are paid can reflect the stage of their career possibly but it is not judged on money vs opportunities in the Seniors.
-
No not ready Chandler and Bedford is a different style of player. But Spargo has earned every one of his 40 odd games. He has what's called "Footy Smarts" . They are there every time he gets the ball ie. something good ie a goal or a score assist comes out of Charlie's play. Hus tackling us ferocious and he was unlucky with a couple in the GF. But he stopped the Dogs on the run and we covered up downfield. His passing handball ing all hit their mark and you can't ask any more than that.

Melb took only 3/4 years 1900 to be exact. But long gaps like 26 years then 13 years. After '64 it has been a very long time and was looking a chance I would never see us triumph. As many of my predictions for this season largely came true I now believe that we are a real possibility to succeed for 6/7 years and collect 1,2,3 or more flags. Our attitude values and culture are by far the best of a Dees team since our glory days and will stand us in good stead with our ability and age definition for flag chances. Our team have started out by defining An MCG triumph in front out our fans as a goal and that is going to be a fantastic feat if we can again keep our footy at the current elite level and achieve that prize.
