POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
He was at least 55 m out so was not a guarantee to add to Bulldogs score so not overreact about that skill error. To be realistic a player should have run on the left hand side of Hannan snd the shot was about 5/7 m shorter, around the 48/50m distance. One of the best chances was Johannisen who would have been stuck in the goal square or thereabouts. Hannan will have plenty of pressure on him this year with Marra Bruce van Dem mere and Wallis plus Sam Darcy all better players even if it's not like for like.

Docklands Stadium Makeover
- Round 1 predictions - head to heads
No one executes " equivalent skills" as Bowey has in 7 games. Throwing him out for an average practice game? Smith has made as many mistakes each game as Bowey has in 7 games. Can't compare even Hunty as his disposal is nowhere near Bowsers.- Round 1 predictions - head to heads
Swap Bowey for Smith or Jordan and that's about it.- Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
He was in our Top5 it doesn't matter about Daniels. !! To be honest those 4 and Angus were easily the best for us and Clarry Salo snd Gus were all equal third in my opinion behind Trac and Fritta.- POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
Would that have happened with Tommo ? On the ground? Need a smaller more nimble opponent actually on Charlie rather than Smith who is not smart enough or fast enough!- Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
Don't agree with you rpfc. Doesn't mean he doesn't know how to play a winger It merely means he plays within his limitations and to his strengths. Angus is a Top 10 pick that has not produced perhaps a career that we all thought when drafted along with Trac 2 and he 3. You are very quick to forget that the concussion issues he has overcome have not been without some loss of that free flowing style with greater pace and flair all vote catching and highlight reel friendly in 2018. Fast forward and his on the ball career in 2019 and 2020 was not convincing but 2021 saw him placed on the members wing with the indefatigable Lingers running a marathon each week on the opposite snd never appearing to run out of pace and style with the ball improving before our eyes as an unlucky to miss AA in 2021. How to play a role to the satisfaction of himself team and starting to doubt and very demanding supporters resulted in a patiently built very credible team role as defensive back up, in pack pressure and when able an attacking option to either score or pass to leading forwards to enable a score. His Top 10 ability and toughness came to the fore as he made a position ( not always appreciated by some fans only interested in flair and highlights packages.) "He only got 14 possessions " and but his disposal and heavy work was good in close" but kicking a little astray to the forwards". Well he persisted and came good at the biggest time of the year Finals culminating in his third or fourth best on ground in the Granny snd was a major player in the vital third quarter as he refused to let the Dogs maintain ball control on the non members wing. And he put us in front and we never were to forfeit the lead. In all his most influential and courageous performance only a very good footballer with his pedigree he can play. Trust me I sat on that wing at Optus snd he does many other knock balls out of bounds spoils opponents marks and hand balls with deft precision to keep our "quiet" wing going under the radar. I haven't looked at his opponents possessions but would be very surprised if many in 2021 caused Angus to alter his match style and team requirements. His defensive work early in the third term bottled up the ball so Dogs couldn't get a clean possession to turn into enough to worry us on the scoreboard. We saved the game before we won it with our pressure then when things turned we never released the hand brake. This wing player knows how to play defensive and pressure footy so the on ballers and excitement machines can do their stuff.- POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
PS We beat Lionswih Hipwood and I think McStay in Sydney earlier in the year.- POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
Agree with both of you- POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
Why would have Smithy been reselected vs Geelong after his very average effort vs Cameron with 5 goals out of 10 in the QF being kicked on him. I am considering his improved Adelaide and Geelong match form snd his gradual improvement in footy nous/smarts starting with none really to a team ability now to adapt much better. But the memory of Charlie C running Smith ragged ( and was far too fast) in that first quarter is scary. I think also Binman you are leaning to Smith because you know that Goody likes him and has had his way in the past ie Vs Eagles in 2018 Prelim Final. That was a disaster selection although it didn't lose us the game. What if also Petty was not injured would you still be favouring him over Smith? Does One med/good practice game with no pressure on plus 2 reasonable rounds 22 and 23 plus a horrible QF overrule 6 good AFL games and a block of excellent training plus good reset game and confidence booster after nearly 12 mths out of the game. ? Notice it's only Tommo you are gunning for as Hibbo Riv and Bowser appear to be locks like Salo Rick and Maysie. Its not a major issue but placing Smith as far ahead of Tommo is not what PK has advised at training and my points above are still valid re Tommo or Smithy.- Farewell Luke Jackson
Ok you got me JMac- POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Referred to something they had done in New York on their previous (2019? ) off season trip and he Said this was much better than that!! May have been exactly what DEI has posted above. Loved Bailey's wry kind of schoolboy type grin as he revelled in the greatest day of his life on the biggest stage as he became a Demon ( snd AFL) legend for life. Reckon Bailey has quite a few more goals left in his career and may even be in our top 3 goal kickers when he retires in about 7/10 years time. Just another beautiful memory of the many goals that made our win so memorable. And I was there and saw them all.- Cal Twomey's Top 50
DEE SPENCER You are vastly underrating Bailey Fritsch. His GF was a match winning effort and you should watch all the ways he gets his goals on the special 59 GOALS collection on Demonland.. De Goey had a great year in2018 but since then Bailey has developed his forward craft to an old style forward. Marks, on the ground, round his body, on his right foot he is a magnificent footballer who now tackles much harder and is a great team msn. Plus he has worked on his deadly accuracy. He is a smooth mover and is so skilful he gets under the oppos guard with subtle leading. Beautiful to watch.and he is ALL OURS.- AFL Commentary teams - How good is Daisy Pearce
RPFC If someone does their job well they deserve credit. It makes them feel good and enhances the work situation. Would not like to work under you if you are boss and don't complement your staff on a job well done. BT is a buffoon and believes he knows more than others about footy. He also suffers from a consistent case of inaccuracy. Couldn't even get the years gap right after the Dogs 2016 Premiership win. BT has mellowed since working on Friday Night with Bruce McAvaney about 5 years ago. But he still is conceited and hard work in the box with others. Brayshaw and BT was the worst GF Ch 7 commentary ever and Daisy rescued it with Hodgee. Abbey is also very ordinary. Hope they recruit others but dear they will stick with the same old group. work- AFLW: 2022 Fixture
Bullies are at Mars Stadium vs Lions WJ in Round 10.- Cal Twomey's Top 50
Good point Jnr yes they are small change that all add up to our excellence but the jewel in the Crown is that big beautiful Cup and always should be.- POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
I am a bit miffed Jnr Mac that you picked out a selected section of my Smith post and then quoted exactly what I indicated that he was shown up with Smith on Cameron in the QF. I acknowledged Smiths improvement indicated he was beaten by Cameron with 5 goals and that he had ability and skill now but has he the nous/smarts to play regularly. We don't know until he has a decent run of football if he will succeed in the AFL and if he has made the jump to be a serious member of our elite defence in 2022. I think he deserves his chance if it opens up and it will be interesting to see his journey in what might be his last year if he doesn't grab this opportunity. There are many possibilities in our squad as I indicated most with very good qualities and all the attributes to be a high quality defender for the Dees. All the best to each of them this season.- POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
The hardest thing in your comments are missing RIF. Smith WHEN FIT !!! I think many is us are now starting to appreciate that Joel has footy and athletic ability. Combine that say like Dogga and you generally have an X factor type player. The downside is that they are often not programmed into the footy players brain or nous for various reasons. Very frustrating. However Smithy ( Joel) finally is getting a run without injury ( legs crossed) and his multiple training and now now match day opportunities are fast tracking him into the prospect that Goody has for 4 years hoped ( since he unfairly ditched Fritta as not being big enough to mind the third tall in the 2018 WC prelim Final rout. Hibbo Will not I believe having topped the premiership mountain relinquish his HBF flank/ back pocket for any one although Smithy if not injured would probably played in the prelim and GF unless he slipped back to his bad old days. Whoever placed him on Charlie Cameron in the QF must have wanted to get rid of him because he was like a fish out of water and not nimble or fast or clever enough and 5 goals is a rarity for any forward against our miserly Backs outfit. Still only 10 goals conceded remember though one player was leaking like Wivenhoe Dam in the 2011 floods. NOW we have a potential embarrassment of defensive options including Hunty ( apparently in training form of his life) Bowser ( May move early in career downfield ) Rivers ( potential mid or centreline star) Hibbo ( Feel good story of the Flag bearing the end of his career) Smithy ( Just give him an injury free run yo save his career) Turner ( future potential tall key) Petty ( You say Petty I say Tommo) verdict still out but we are the outright winner of this. Tommo ( You say Tommo I say Petty!!! Ditto above on Petty. naturally backline Captains Maysie and Rick and Lieutenant Salo are locked in. The fight for regular spots is on and as we need four I believe the encumbants deserve to start on March 16. That means No's 14 17 and 24 are loaded and IMO Tommo ( if judged match fit enough and I reckon he is) should replace Harrison if he doesn't come up with an unlucky Smithy named as an emergency. On the subject of Joel it would not be stupid if he was given at Casey a training in a match day role as a X fActor forward roaming as a flanker pocket key as well as his defence program. If we get him to be a danger player let's not tie him up with too many restrictions or instructions. Maybe this might be tried once he earns his stripes as a reliable backline team member in the AFL or VF L. We can see already how Bailey Fritsch is so hard to match up on with his forward skills as a between hybrid classic forward. It's another player completely different which is why our forward line is so good now when we get the ball in the zone with our mids centres and defensive heroes streaming down field. No doubt many of us have different views most of which although unlucky are not too far outside our mantra and game plans. PS Don't forget a Tmac and Petty/Tommo switch during the game can also add flexibility to both ends of the ground.- Petracca - Future captain?
- Petracca - Future captain?
We can have co captains no law against it.- POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
Big difference is we are unusually coming off as Premiers ( by a margin) and a sensational 2021 possibly our best team performance in 125 years. Plus plenty of our first choice we're not available and we ( despite your assertion wrongly) that we win practice matches by this large margin frequently it's not the normal result. I agree it's best not to carry on as if practice matches are absolute evidence of a bumper year again but it's hard not to be convinced with our talent youth and potential depth that we are ( given no injuries to Clarry or Trac) in for another high quality season by a rapidly developing group of very determined athletes with ultimate success foremost in their minds.- POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
On the claim that Weid might have been played in the ruck in case that Luke Jackson leaves. No because he needs to get a go away from just being a forward in one position. And he is quite decent around the ground with good skills marking and handball ing. No one not even BBB or Tmac can make a difference to Dogga in the ruck. Please no reason to be so half glass empty that is not what is being suggested that Dogga is leaving this season or the next 2 at least.- AFLW: 2022 Fixture
But they have played once before so I guess they have to play in Perth this time. Bad luck Bullies but it's the only answer for the AFLW - Round 1 predictions - head to heads
