  1. He's definitely in the crosshairs on here. I'm sure our wobbly start hasn't helped. Without being mean to the fella as I do appreciate him, he's a victim of his (AFL) averageness. He's a solid player with no real explosive traits, so he comes an easy target. He does need more goals though, can remember Chin copping a lot of flack on here in the past and he's turned people around, so there is hope for the Spargoat.

@layzie Usually when one sporting team of mine is cabbage another is doing well. Sadly this does not seem to be the case in 2025.
  3. Agree we need more goals from Spargs, but worth noting there's only 5 players at the club with more Goal Assists. So wouldn't crucify him for that one too much. Chuck also 3rd highest tackles inside F50 for the Dees. He's never going to light a match on fire, so the spot is his until someone comes along with better attributes. Uncertain if that is K.Brown or not. Would like us to draft/trade another small forward who has more 'elite' stats than 'average'.

Saw a journo on Twitter who said "Football fandom is a largely obligatory existence where lows are stronger than highs. But this lifelong routine is interspersed with moments of joy so powerful that they eclipse everything, make everything else in life temporarily irrelevant and makes all the [censored] worthwhile." Reminds me of my time as a Dees supporter. Enjoy the win.
  5. I'm in a little footy group chat and someone wrote a message "Finding it very hard to figure out who is good/[censored] this year" - This gets bumped with every confusing/unpredicted result so far this season. curious if the robot has a better idea.
  6. Look this doesn't really need a thread, but i am on my lunch break at work and I opened my phone and I clicked 'memories' on Facebook and it reminded me that on this day in 2018 we beat Carlton by 109 points and it made me smile. And I thought others may also take joy in remembering when we beat Carlton by 109 points. 8. His shot at goal and pass to Fritta could have been better. His goalscoring has decreased each year, would be curious to see what shift (if any) there has been in his heat maps. I don't think it was a drop worthy performance given the Casey performances last 2 games. But he should start getting nervous in a week or two IMO. Sharp definitely has pace on Spargs but assume he'd probably be the one to make way for Viney. Chuck/Sharp were pretty equal in pressure acts (11v10) but did note Chuck had 3 tackles to 0.
  9. I guess the fixture to be expected given our form. Only one night game which i can't make as i've got a gig that night. Still boggles my mind a little we play home against the Pies on 9 June and then don't play at home again until 13 July.
  10. Sort of depends on list retention (Pickett), small forward stock not the deepest at present.
  11. he could be backing himself but also with Tasmania supposedly coming into the league in 2028 it makes sense for some players to renew up until 2027 because; They can use the new team as leverage They could potentially go to the new team and get a signing on bonus (which is a floated possibility).
  12. is Jackson and Reid for Kozzie, Kolt and Woey fairer?
  13. So they 'drop' the closest umpire for what was called as the worst non-call of the season, but somehow the player escapes a fine? Only rational i can think of is they thought he was 'scrambling' after the collision with team mate and it was accidental. long bow to draw though
  14. Yeh, just found it interesting that in this thread we're asking for a sweeter in the deal but Freo fans are wanting us to chuck in a first rounder as well. Enjoy the different club based perspectives on it.
  15. It's an interesting one given we have some young WA talent and KP but if you jump on the comment seection that facebook page Flagmantle it seems their fans think its fair to do Luke Jackson for Pickett and a first rounder. Freo have a few like Treacy and Murphy Reid i'd like to have a chat to. I'd rather retain Pickett but think that's wishful thinking at this stage
  16. This is me, and I'm a nostalgia merchant and love an internet forum.
  17. delayed concussion symptoms and only entered protocols on Thursday,.

  19. He's seemingly got away with it (again)
  20. afl.com.auTassie would be forced to trade SIX first-round picks as...Some of Tasmania's early draft picks would have to be traded under AFL proposalSome interesting proposals so far. Hopefully we're not cabbage in 2026.
  21. Why do so many of these young fellas bounce the ball after 3-4 steps, seen our Langford do the same too. Just get in and run lads
  22. So Laurie, Howes and AJ are the emergencies this week Seems at lest one (if not two) of them will have very limited game time seeing this kicks off at 11:05am in Footscray and we're on at 1:20 at the G
  23. How willing would Freo be to get rid of LJ when the other main ruck is injury prone and not that mobile, and on 1 mil a season.
  24. Stan edging close to buying EPL off Optus. But more interesting to see Stan (and Paramount) sniffing around the F1 who are in their final year of rights with Foxtel (who want to renew). AFL locked away Saturday fixtures behind Kayo, but Kayo could be losing content. Curious to see how that one plays out.
