There is a small sample size of transitional play which look promising up until a bad kick inside the F50. Which seemingly may be a flaw with the plan given our list. But agreed - definitely some indecision on the players behalf when chipping the ball around, not sure who to kick to, not sure what to do themselves.

Yep, Goodie did foresee some 'teething issues' with the new gameplan but some of the team stats have been confronting. We're not stagnant, we're going backwards. Add to that our midfield/forward connection has been stuffed for too long. If we were playing well and losing, you'd ride the storm. If we don't win I want us to be competitive or at least entertaining, and we've failed at that the last 15 games or so. Goodie deserves all his flowers for his efforts here, but I'm sure he'd realize there needs to be improvement and quick.

Last 2 games we've had injuries very early, so there is a risk to this strategy, especially with our 4th quarters so far this season.

Injurie aside, as others have mentioned they have a lot of players outperforming their contract values, so probably a wise decision from Hawthorn to hold back a little here

We only have 3 players over 200cm, Fullarton (200cm), Campbell (201cm) and Gawn (209cm) GCU currently have 6 players 200cm+ so hopefully Kalani sees more progression with us, but we need another giant in the short-term too.

Whilst I agree it is puzzling, it's hard to fully understand/judge without knowledge of the soft cap and the wiggle room.

I don't think its a long bow tbh, they took a calculated risk which didnt work out. I'd much rather we kept up with Jayden as opposed to the Hunter route. He'd probably be getting a game over Sharp if he was still here, still have some hope that Sharp can develop though.

So here is a query for the demonland, Our Forwards seemingly do well in the VFL but struggle in the AFL. Is it primarily because of the gameplan/connection or do you think our list has a bunch of forwards who are too good for VFL but not quite hitting the high standards of the AFL?
