Netflix and live sport
Hope we never go down that route, seems like a logical nightmare for football(soccer) fans in the uk. Miss the simple days of Foxtel though, now sport so fractured and everywhere for soccer. Apple - MLS Paramount - A-league Optus - Premier League and Spanish League, Euros Stan - Champions league, Europa league, Europa conference league bein - Copa America, championship, SPL, serie a, bundesliga.

Is Verrall ready? BBB/Tomlinson could be an option but would prefer BBB and Kolt as I'd like to see him given another go before McAdam and Melk are back. that being said Tommo does have a some pros Can cover Defensive positions if Tmac goes in the ruck Can also relief ruck himself Won't need to shift Petty about as much so - Petty can get solid run up front for form etc. Prefer BBB to ruck F50 only

NON-MFC: Round 09
At least we're not the only team losing the game in the first quarter.

What do you do following a loss?
I think the losses of the past hurt more because there was an element of 'Are we ever going to win a flag in my lifetime?' attached to each loss. Some false dawns didn't help that feeling. Now we're solid and having competitive losses which are a little different to dissect for a few reasons - You can find yourself falling down 'what if?' rabbit holes but also the finals ramifications etc. As @seventyfour eluded to with the Perth GF, the mood somewhat shifting with the 'am i ever going to get to go to a winning grand final in my lifetime' paranoia slowly kicking in in with the passing of time . Could be worse though - I have mates who go for St Kilda!

What do you do following a loss?
When I was a wee lad when the Dees would lose a game I would often be very sad and and on occasion would take some posters off my wall and pack a backpack and tell my parents I was running away from home. I never made it beyond the driveway but I put on quite a show. Unfortunately now I live alone and have a mortgage, so the threat of running away does not have the same dramatic impact and I would only upset my cat, and even then I am not too sure it would mind too much. Always find it interesting how we re-act following a loss and wondered where others lie. Some options include The Masochistic Re-watch Do you re-watch the game (or at least extended highlights and other media) and try analyse what went wrong or where the game was won or lost. Are you searching for learnings? Blank Space Do you just move on to next week and not ignore it all until the next week. Not just with the Dees but I find myself not listening to podcasts after a loss (Sorry lads!) There are further options - such as the venting on a forum but what do you do following a loss?

Gold Coast Suns Rebrand
If they want a total rebrand, I still remember fondly when Gerald Healy accidentally called them the Gold (RUDE WORD) on live television - Might be a good starting point

Premiership Rings?
Yeh that is not a great look. Still think the simple solution is Gold Medals for those in the match day squad, Silver Medals for those who didnt play GF.

2024 MRO & Tribunal
This paragraph especially Protect the head at all costs, obviously unless a head knock is as a result of a football act, but then it depends on how hard you get hit in that football act and if the player had any other alternatives, but also the player needs to take into account the potential to cause harm, but of course it shouldn't depend on the outcome of the opponent, unless of course it does result in a concussion, but even then it depends on the intent, but of course a player is entitled to attack the ball with good technique, but it doesn't matter if the opposition runs in head first like how every kid playing the game growing up gets taught not to do, but then of course it depends on the state of the game and the time of the year, it depends on whether or not we need to make an example out of someone, but then don't forget if they have had a clean record in the past and do charity work, but then obviously that can only matter once and never again because from now on that doesn't count, and it depends on the player, and the team they're on, but really it all boils down to protecting the head because we're seeing more players retire from concussion than ever before, but we will still let a guy play next week after punching someone in the face in the goal square because it wasn't hard enough to hurt them.

That's how I look at it, lots of IFs Petty's possible departure? BBB impending retirement? Jefferson's growth? Schache contract expiration? Joel Smith's future? I think it could be ok squad depth addition (not a Best 22 etc) if the dogs are fitting some of the bill. Not one to be super excited about but could play a role if called upon (or that would be the idea at least)

Hit on Clarry
I know at times there is play acting and what not but an unexpected hit to that region can make someone fold in half sometimes But we've seen with Pendles etc they dont really care, an off the ball strike is at times less punishable than a clumsy football action

Harrison Petty
The last 2 games he has wracked up a total of 8 disposals which is a bit of a concern. Last year in an injury interrupted season he kicked a sensational 12.1, whilst its unrealistic to continue along these lines he is currently 1.5 so i am not sure whether it is confidence or in his body. Whilst Petty is more mobile than BBB and I get they want to get minutes into him, BBB troubled the scoreboard more. An interesting conundrum - especially with Disco's performance the other day and Shane getting onto the park.

If Bulldogs pay for a fair chunk it may be worth considering for depth once BBB goes. Not a match day squad addition - So he'd probably go somewhere he gets a guaranteed game
