  1. thats not why they've fallen off the perch, the pre-existing talent they had and all the veterans they recruited were in the same age bracket therefore they all came to the end of their careers at the same time. and due to their successes everyone behind them on the list was unproven, unseen at senior level and now theyve lost all the veterans as a natural outcome they're left with no strong foundations to rebuild from
  2. spot on, his body work 1on1 is class times and executes it perfectly to unbalance oppo + he can leap too we really liked him i remember, brissie jumped in ahead of us in the rookie draft we ended up with bull smith and kielty, but the big o was absolutely on the radar. i guess we saw more in flip too ?‍♂️ at least we know now just to poach ruckman or wait till theyve developed
  3. mass exodus at the roos - is tarrant gettable? talia at the crows too. before petty takes over
  4. send him to the dogs who knows maybe he'll become a star. definitely an upgrade on that sod gardner
  5. 1yr: Bedford, Hibbo, Hore, Jordon, Spargo, Lockhart, Bradtke, Brown, Nietschke 2yrs: Fritsch ? , Sparrow ? , Petty ? , Viney Off the list: Hannan, Hunt, OMac, Chandler, Jones, Smith, Bennell but its decisions like vanders 3yrs, melky's still got another two, nibblers 2 last year, TMac for crying out loud! that the club has managed poorly. Jetta and KK should've fallen off this year too realistically and these are the kinds of decisions that show the FD is a year behind. how Jagner survived as long as he did i'll never understand. and this time next year everyone will be saying Smith has to go, Hannan, Hunt etc when we had the opportunity this year to make those calls. theyre flashy players with limitations that hold them back and hold the club back. Look at PA's 2018 exits they had so many middling players that they axed who were just getting by year on year without actually starring and they made the calls to cut them all and they've shone, even a 29yo Broadbent last year with 170odd games. a player like that we would allow to just exist on 1yr deals for a couple of years till they retired. or sam gray who played 17 games in his final season but they delist him and actively seek a better option. We cant even chop a player who scrapped their way to 5 games gifted mostly out of lack of decent alternative options!
  6. its players like baker who is 23 next year and only a handful of games and we still treat him as young and up and coming but its 5 years in the system! like if youre not best 22 by then then u just clogging someone younger and with more upside but no doubt he'll start out of the side come in mid season for 6-8 games and earn another 1 year deal and on it goes a la ANB, Hunt, hannan to date
  7. im with ya HFF very clear that Jones, Jetta, vanders, Smith are in their last years next year as too are Hannan, KK, Hunt, Chandler if they even make it to then too (which they shouldn't) unless something drastic changes - which i cant see happening for these boys big years for Nietschke, Lockhart, Baker, Hore, Jordon to take next step or join them assuming OMac + ANB go now
  8. interesting no mention of Bradtke... guess he's locked in + u didnt edit out Smith, ik we all wish he was still on that list
  9. No Bradtke on this official afl website article... https://www.afl.com.au/news/512547/re-sign-or-let-go-your-club-s-out-of-contract-players would make sense he re-signs without any fanfair.
  10. bevo clearly wants reinforcements down back at the dogs plz sir take him and tom to replace brucey tyty
  11. big ticks on all those targets from me @WERRIDEEheres my take 3rd rounder gets wright done (preuss pick) 4th rounder for polec (salary bonus) lions would want to move picks around 2nd 3rd rounds for witherden ANB pick for narkle + swap seconds (Witherden) MAY LEVER SALEM PETTY HIBBERD (Hore by midseason) LANGDON VINEY (Polec) FRITSCH WEID (Narkle) PICKETT (Wright) BEDFORD GAWN TRAC OLIVER JACKSON RIVERS BRAYSHAW HARMES E - Spargo Tomlinson Sparrow Melksham
  12. look at port and st kildas rises and tell me what they did. port cleared out all the trash the last two years and aggressively drafted. not satisfied with mediocrity and inconsistent performances. st kilda brought in 1/4 of a side through trade and FA to take them further. we sit mid table and dabble in both and continue to sit mid table.
  13. I think Petty should play back next year and with Hore the logical replacement for Hibbo over the next 12 months (look at his intercepting and lockdown stats on the afl website). it makes it illogical to keep either Smith or OMac with Tomlinson obviously staying back there too. thats 5 Key defenders already, plenty for any side + its a tall draft so theres plenty of options for a developing speculative pick. I hope smiths ready to play 22 vfl games next year and has a new career sorted for 2022 Happy with the Sparrow deal hopefully more announcements r coming soon TMac is washed up idc how heavy he was its not an excuse to not crash packs, lead and just contest. he wasn't close to the 22 by mid-season being lighter isnt going to just change his attack on the footy and his competitiveness. the only thing we can hope is he increases his value for this time next year.
  14. why aren't we hearing any official announcements from the club, i find it so strange that we've been finished for 2 weeks now and we still have 20 players OOC including many obvious resignings that we're hearing are done deals. Also find it strange Hawks, Giants, Swans have made no list changes given ladder positions
  15. ive been fully jbaitted right here ffs u had me creamingggg
  16. its all part of the big picture, maybe we'll package up the picks for a player, a first rounder to an academy club, he might be on too much cash for his output and we are deeeep in that spot. every draft theres 150 gamers picked in the 40s its a gamble worth taking even if we did carry the pick through
  17. didnt realise we only targeted, talented non-speculative picks once and drafted alphabetically every other season?
  18. using this logic tmac plays over jackson, cwags over pickett and omac before rivers? random kids need to be given games to become seasoned professionals u cant expect it to happen over night. massacre the fringes bring in best 22 players to push others out and down and kids to grow past. thats literally the basics of list management one would think...
  19. cant do worse than hunt hannan melky and nibbler dished up last year...

i hate tom morris with bloody passion, so self obsessed and says the dumbest sh it yet to hear a good idea come out of his mouth. clearly trods on others toes to get to where he is. feel sorry for his coworkers just my two cents xx
  21. it was actually a really good year, most sides were forced to debut and trial many more players than they wouldve ever imagined, did you see WCE midfield by round 16/17. unfortunately for us, we decided hannan, nibbler, hunt, smith, vanders should get 3rd, 4th, 5th bloody 8th chances to show any sign of talent as 23+yos rather than give debuts and games to our untried crop bedford (how can you fall off so far from a full preseason getting named round 1 to not another crack till the end) chandler, dunkley, jordon, sparrow, baker (sooner) you didn't need to "play" your way into the seniors this year u just had to be available and we missed the chance to test players where others capitalised
  22. best 25 isnt good enough, we need to be recruiting for the top 15 and everyone else drops a rung, for too long we've held onto fringe types. at other clubs 3/4 years is all u get to show something and tbf to him after 2018 he did but that was false hope and he hasnt had any influence on a games outcome since (pretty crucial for a forward) therefore he goes melky drops to 20-25 in the squad and we get a proper HF to come in and play week in week out and perform whether thats internally, draft or trade
  23. ANB vs Ronke ANB vs Narkle ANB vs Lonie ANB vs Hunt ANB vs Chandler/Bedford i'd roll the dice on a season from any of the others over ANB if we can flip him. Even if they didnt work out we're not losing anything taking the risk (if you can even call it that)

*2021 List* Key Defenders: May, Lever, Hore, Petty, Tomlinson General Def: Lockhart, Hibberd, Rivers, Salem, Neitschke (A?), Witherden/Cumming Midfielders: Oliver, Viney, Petracca, Harmes, Brayshaw, Sparrow, Jordon, Langdon, Baker, vandenBerg, Polec Rucks: Gawn, merry-go-round, Bradkte (B) General Fwd: Fritsch, Melksham, Bedford, Pickett, Spargo, Neal-Bullen, Narkle Key Forwards: Weideman, Jackson, Brown (A), Wright =33/2/1 players pre draft Rookies Neitschke (A) Brown (A) Bradtke (B) thats a pretty sound start, i suspect that Hunt and Jetta might survive another season (35) which means two live picks + lockhart upgrade and 1 open spot for the rookie draft (deakyn smith?) or SPP early next summer.

only one off the senior list still, more to come for sure, dunno what theyre waiting for. list sizes shouldnt matter when youve got cr ap footballers
