I think Petty should play back next year and with Hore the logical replacement for Hibbo over the next 12 months (look at his intercepting and lockdown stats on the afl website). it makes it illogical to keep either Smith or OMac with Tomlinson obviously staying back there too. thats 5 Key defenders already, plenty for any side + its a tall draft so theres plenty of options for a developing speculative pick. I hope smiths ready to play 22 vfl games next year and has a new career sorted for 2022 Happy with the Sparrow deal hopefully more announcements r coming soon TMac is washed up idc how heavy he was its not an excuse to not crash packs, lead and just contest. he wasn't close to the 22 by mid-season being lighter isnt going to just change his attack on the footy and his competitiveness. the only thing we can hope is he increases his value for this time next year.

why aren't we hearing any official announcements from the club, i find it so strange that we've been finished for 2 weeks now and we still have 20 players OOC including many obvious resignings that we're hearing are done deals. Also find it strange Hawks, Giants, Swans have made no list changes given ladder positions

ive been fully jbaitted right here ffs u had me creamingggg

its all part of the big picture, maybe we'll package up the picks for a player, a first rounder to an academy club, he might be on too much cash for his output and we are deeeep in that spot. every draft theres 150 gamers picked in the 40s its a gamble worth taking even if we did carry the pick through
-
didnt realise we only targeted, talented non-speculative picks once and drafted alphabetically every other season?

using this logic tmac plays over jackson, cwags over pickett and omac before rivers? random kids need to be given games to become seasoned professionals u cant expect it to happen over night. massacre the fringes bring in best 22 players to push others out and down and kids to grow past. thats literally the basics of list management one would think...

cant do worse than hunt hannan melky and nibbler dished up last year...
-
i hate tom morris with bloody passion, so self obsessed and says the dumbest sh it yet to hear a good idea come out of his mouth. clearly trods on others toes to get to where he is. feel sorry for his coworkers just my two cents xx

it was actually a really good year, most sides were forced to debut and trial many more players than they wouldve ever imagined, did you see WCE midfield by round 16/17. unfortunately for us, we decided hannan, nibbler, hunt, smith, vanders should get 3rd, 4th, 5th bloody 8th chances to show any sign of talent as 23+yos rather than give debuts and games to our untried crop bedford (how can you fall off so far from a full preseason getting named round 1 to not another crack till the end) chandler, dunkley, jordon, sparrow, baker (sooner) you didn't need to "play" your way into the seniors this year u just had to be available and we missed the chance to test players where others capitalised
-
best 25 isnt good enough, we need to be recruiting for the top 15 and everyone else drops a rung, for too long we've held onto fringe types. at other clubs 3/4 years is all u get to show something and tbf to him after 2018 he did but that was false hope and he hasnt had any influence on a games outcome since (pretty crucial for a forward) therefore he goes melky drops to 20-25 in the squad and we get a proper HF to come in and play week in week out and perform whether thats internally, draft or trade

ANB vs Ronke ANB vs Narkle ANB vs Lonie ANB vs Hunt ANB vs Chandler/Bedford i'd roll the dice on a season from any of the others over ANB if we can flip him. Even if they didnt work out we're not losing anything taking the risk (if you can even call it that)

*2021 List* Key Defenders: May, Lever, Hore, Petty, Tomlinson General Def: Lockhart, Hibberd, Rivers, Salem, Neitschke (A?), Witherden/Cumming Midfielders: Oliver, Viney, Petracca, Harmes, Brayshaw, Sparrow, Jordon, Langdon, Baker, vandenBerg, Polec Rucks: Gawn, merry-go-round, Bradkte (B) General Fwd: Fritsch, Melksham, Bedford, Pickett, Spargo, Neal-Bullen, Narkle Key Forwards: Weideman, Jackson, Brown (A), Wright =33/2/1 players pre draft Rookies Neitschke (A) Brown (A) Bradtke (B) thats a pretty sound start, i suspect that Hunt and Jetta might survive another season (35) which means two live picks + lockhart upgrade and 1 open spot for the rookie draft (deakyn smith?) or SPP early next summer.

only one off the senior list still, more to come for sure, dunno what theyre waiting for. list sizes shouldnt matter when youve got cr ap footballers
-
my take Joe Daniher ?? -- wouldnt touch, injury prone, wants ridiculous money and wasnt interested when fit Alex Witherden Lions. ✅ -- would fill a need, at a good price, fits age demographic Jared Polec Kangas ? -- north will pay lots, still young enough, fits a need Ben Brown Kangas ? -- only on a mitch brown-esque deal, doesnt offer a different style of forward to weid (goalsquare type) Quinton Narkle. Cats ? - upgrade on current high HF options + younger, needs consistent opportunity to prove worth Isaac Cumming Giants. ? - cheap, gives good depth/competition for future, proven moreso than potential draftee at same value
-
i dont think there will be any more till after a. list sizes or 2. trade period.

the classic dan gorringe retlisting maynard, walker, smith last year so many across the league this year too already

the problem is we have this reluctance to try new things. Every time we lose a game we drop a forward, hannan, ANB, hunt and spargo and when we do, it is another of this same group that replaces them. Same deal began to happen across the park this year (although somewhat down to injuries) When a mid went down it was vanders who came in when jordon and dunkley r there and we dont know if they're at the level but we wont find out when hibbo missed a week it was harmes in the backline or ??jwagner?? playing what about chandler (believe he was training there over summer) when a forward had 4 touches they bring in another of these guys that we know what they offer at the level and theres a reason they aren't in the side consistently. i think its time (and look at how port transformed their list) - baker, sparrow, jordon, bedford, petty, chandler, dunkley need to be next in next season so we can see if they're up to it and the next 3-4 guys we recruit + the say two who fall out of the 22 and those already contracted can fill their role in the twos alongside a couple of others. otherwise we are stagnating development and we end up with 10 players with no experience on the list just being passengers and ineffective players repeatedly offering us nil in the seniors but staying on the list as "good cover" i feel like i havent really phrased my argument too well but hopefully yall understand kinda what im aiming for here
-
not seeing enough love for narkle as a high HF rolling through the guts
-
rookie upgrades count as draft picks so lockhart presumably takes up one and if the list setup changes and we have to upgrade more then it counts as draft picks
-
cerra, andybray, serong, fyfe, walters. im not believing this
-
or freo...
-
why would u put 2-3 years developing both these boys to ship them off for a mid range draft pick in a compromised draft... these two have shown the most promise and most chance to break into the 22 consistently

if you look at it every single club has roughly 8 list changes every season on average from premiers right through to spooners. + an extra 2 for the shrinking of list sizes its pretty realistic, and u cant say theres not 10 players on our list that shouldn't leave
-
u cant say you'd consider him at 28 ahead of witherden, cumming, saad? witherden - out of favour 3rd rounder gets it done cumming OOC - 3rd rounder gets it done saad OOC early second rounder and swap some late ones probably gets it done
