the only player i'd consider is lachie hosie at 22 in that HF goalkicking lead up role that none of hannan, hunt, nibbler, melky have played well this year but realistically theres a reason hes been given the chop so we steer clear of them all, and hopefully follow suit with our own cull
-
Smith: 191 May:193 Lever:195 Hibbo:186 Rivers:188 Tomlinson: 194 Avg: 191.2 Essendon have 3 forwards under 185cm all they have to do is let the ball bounce in their forward 50 and we're royally f'ed in the a**
-
and this is why he wont
-
one change hibbo for smith
-
realistically i want 4 from this DEF: Witherden, Saad, Cumming MID: Narkle, Polec, ISmith KF: Wright, Ratugolea
-
he's exactly what we need. jackson and weid both arent that number one hawkins, dixon, kennedy type we need a bail out option down the line who can really clunk one and take the big defender to let weid and jacko loose to roam and lead

i think a few people have got it spot on in here so far, yes hes rapid and breaks lines however he often runs himself into trouble or dump handballs to someone else whos in more trouble than him the "lumumba-toumpas handpass" as i know it as they were serial offenders and if he does get the kick it is just a hack with no accuracy and no direction which led to turnovers and quick transitions out of our forward line by oppo HBs. he's had plenty of chances and clearly hasnt quite found a place. I've heard @LekdogSC and @JG2325 do carlton and essendon respectively list analysis on twitter recently and both believe he can fit in there as a dashing defender and would be available. he's a player i'd allow to leave cheaply with blessing and would like to see flourish elsewhere with no hard feelings. the other club i can see him fitting in at would be the doggies as a mitch wallis foil as a lead up. they've had lots of instability in that second small position and he could fit their style in that way. however he's had his chances here and ultimately dissapointed a lot of us fans and obviously the coaches too hence the 5 game season

fritsch's defensive game on haynes last week was awesome and very underrated especially on here. hes going straight to ridley first bounce. Hooker & hurley i think will be back in heppells had surgery. Lockhart for jetta i think is a lock it is true we shouldnt mess with a winning formula however matchups are important and therefore smith falls out for hibbo if fit vanders misses out for harmes in a midfield role without brayshaw and jones in the side thats definitely a huge upgrade there hopefully they leave it at that brown has really performed and weid has had it tough with the big blokes he's had clamping and sitting on him for the last few weeks but it would be irresponsible to push LJ in if he's underdone in such an important game and with such a young prospect. anb lucky that we won so he gets another game bennell has clearly been put on ice for the year and hannan isnt an upgrade so he plays
-
vandenBerg --> harmes - obvious like for like ugrade jetta --> lockhart - injured smith --> hibberd - matchups firstly + possessions (his general defensive form has been decent) anb --> bennell - didnt do enough, never does and its do or die
-
he plays a much deeper role these days lockdown type on the mitch wallis' of the world viney needs to learn to not go back into traffic and dispose of the ball sooner instead of trying to do it all himself. the only difference between him and the brad crouches of the world are the ability to give the ball off at the right time. we can blame this on the ability of his teammates as a youngster... had no choice but to do it all himself. i really dont want him to leave but if he doesnt tidy this up (which he absolutely can do) he could be expendable as a player definitely not as the most melbourne through and through person we have on our list. CHANGES: vdb --> harmes jetta (inj) --> lockhart smith (matchups) --> hibbo anb --> bedford/hannan (probably safe coz we won tho)
-
i want quality depth and jackson is only 19 he cant carry a forward line on his own. Jackson is versatile that we could play all 3. im not saying he doesnt get a game all season but maybe he plays 12-15 games
-
i dont see rejects i see value and players desperate for opportunity, you've only improved our best 22 by one player and i dont think we're really in the race for williams and atkins isnt a lock for 22 either. + ur bench is 4 inside mids which doesnt work. Polec 4th rounder north happy to offload Witherden 3rd (see lewy taylor 2019) Wright 2021-3rd (salary% paid) Cumming 3rd (see setterfield, bonar) Narkle late2nd we can easily make that happen if we show ambition so yeh i gotta admit its probably very unrealistic but i see all of them as upgrades on our list and nearly undroppable for us based on form at other clubs and our current options

For mine: Hibberd May Lever Salem Tomlinson Witherden Langdon Viney Polec Fritsch Weid Narkle Pickett Wright Bennell Gawn Oliver Petracca Brayshaw Harmes Rivers Bedford Reserves DEF: Hore, Petty, Lockhart, Cumming, Neitschke (A), Chandler (A) MID: Sparrow, Jordon, vandenBerg, Dunkley (A), Baker RCK: Jackson, Preuss, Bradtke FWD: Melksham, Spargo, ANB, Brown (A), Cockatoo (A) I'd be drafting a running defender, one medium and one small forward Retire: Jones, KK, Jetta Delist: 2xWagner, Hunt, Hannan, Smith, OMcDonald Trade: TMcDonald Extra Thoughts *Jackson will develop well with no pressure against men in a proper 2s *Can we prise Tarrant out of North in a deal with Polec too - how far are they willing to rebuild *Early call is ANB, VDB, Melky, Baker, Dunkley, Chandler, Brown need big 2021s *Wright & Polec contracts being split between us and former clubs *Cockatoo DFA/Narkle steak knives *very achievable window if we pull our finger out

spargos first season at teh club 18 games picketts first season at the club 90% of games bedford two years two games 5 months apart genuinely setting him up for failure they actually dont want him to succeed at all
-
coz ive seen my team play finals once in my living memory whist my best mates support geelong and hawthorn
-
nah we win the media say 2020 isnt over for this side the players read their own hype in the media and then go down to the dons by 40 game over at QT
-
found us a forward coach
-
this is spot on. everyone is quick to bash them both and call for their heads and refer to the stats but how many games did cyril or charlie cameron get 15+ disposals, A: not many. these two young lads are absolutely passing the eye test better than anyone else we've tried in their spots over the last two years.
-
perfect step up from melksham at HF rolling through with trac, and we wont ever have to see hunt hannan ANB avb fraud their way into the side
-
absolutely the perfect goalsquare player for us and we can play Wright, Weid and LJ all together. Allows jackson to get a weaker matchup good for development and gives max a chop too
-
imo it should be all 3, no nibbler, no hunt and gotta be questions on melky in that mix
-
youd rather TMac next to Preuss and Weid im guessing. turn it up lad... wet=smalls
-
whered u read that?
-
it was going well until he called Oliver "Olly" then he lost all my support
