  1. talls you've got just about spot on Brown, Weid, Jacko will play together and if one misses i doubt it'll be a like for like tall replacement probably a mid-sized option given fritsch can play the 3rd role. TMac will again get the early chance as next in should 2 miss ahead of brown but i suspect by end of season brown will again go past him and both will move off the list to make room for another developer. in the smalls department Pickett, Fritsch will play 22 games, Melk will get first crack but shouldn't see out the season whatsoever if he dishes up more of 2020s form. Laurie is my shout for the other round 1 spot edging out all other comers. Spargo will also get a healthy run in the side hopefully from round 1 as i like what he offers when he's tackling and pressing. and i hope bedford gets chances before they revert to the tried and failed ANB, AVB, hunt and out-of-form melky Round 1 will look like Fritsch-Weid-Melk Pickett-Brown-Jackson Spargo Laurie but i'd like to see Bedford/Harmes in the side before Melksham
  2. for mine talls will start the year as May, Lever, Tomlinson in the side and Hore, Petty, Smith TMac in the magoos. but by the bye i think we will see Petty go past tomlinson or push him back to a wing and see Hore playing regularly too. for smalls Rivers, Salem, Hibberd, Lockhart (7th) to start in with Nietschke, Chandler, Bowey and Nev in the 2s but same deal, by mid season Hore in for lockhart or hibbo potentially helping shift salo or riv up the ground. Bowey will play games, nev will probably get between 5-10 games but shouldn't be too many more and nieta probably gets a debut but i'm not sure how much more of him we'll see. So ideally i'd like to run a Lever-May-Hibbo Salem-Petty-Rivers Hore
  3. should be jones > goody respect the legacy and give it one last go alternatively whack ooze up there coz why tf not
  4. harmes, tmac, chandler groups? if u saw
  5. hore > smith forever and ever if thats our r1 side by end of season i'd hope Laurie/Petty/Sparrow usurp Melk/Tomlinson/Hunt in the side comfortably and u could even make a case for Spargo/Bowey over baker then too obviously we signed 3 forwards at the draft 1 in trade period and 1 TBC in deakyn smith so it makes sense next year we upgrade the backline with riv/salo pushing up, hibbo/nev getting on and jury still out on mature agers hore/smith/lockhart and it would be nice to have a tall developing behind may for 3/4 years time too. especially seeing as our mids are set for another 5/6 years
  6. clubs dont often offer train on spots without following through especially with 2 spots open and u can basically pay the players entire wage outside the cap and u may as well fill out the list if u can cant hurt really as a development player on a 1yr deal. makes me laugh when people on here have an issue with mbrown getting a year when he's 30 as depth coz they wanna see an unproven youngster with upside get a chance and then we hear about a youngster getting a chance and its godforbid we give him a go.
  7. no draft, just get offered a contract so any club could come forward but you'd think a player would repay the faith in the club who invited them on/ the club would invite them to train on if they were actually interested
  8. its been tweeted 16 bailey laurie 17 jake bowey 19 fraser rosman
  9. well were locked in 16. Bailey Laurie 17. jake Bowey 19. fraser rosman
  10. james mcdonald former skipper that we forced into retirement about the scully trengove grimes era, came out of retirement a year later with GWS for a season
  11. the fact is he earnt an extra year through his form and hes a good leader around the club shows the young players how hard work can get u places and he's been around the block experienced the highs and lows and would be a good experienced voice on the track and in the rooms and unless we had someone we specifically really liked to select as a rookie then we've done ourselves no harm in keeping him around for another 12 months
  12. we also had to know richmonds pick was on the table and clubs would be coming for it so we woulda had an idea if a player we really liked was still on the board that every club had the chance to jump in front of us
  13. really interested on why he would make your side when we literally had brayshaw playing 60% game time because we couldnt fit him in an inside role. With trac, oliver, viney, harmes, brayshaw and then one of the younger breed ie sparrow taking over from jones i really can't see why we would need another big body anywhere near our side
  14. afl.com.au reporting we are likely to invite smith to train on with us for that last spot on our rookie list. i wonder what the rules are on them training on and then joining as a B rookie as they were technically academy players despite not being nominated. if that's the case could we see Smith and Farmer both invited and both given a chance one as an A rookie and one as a B
  15. stoddart just signed with carltons reserves for the expanded vfl comp next year. at 23 you'd wanna be pretty confident taking mutimer that he offers something unique (what kind of player is he?). and if you're after a HB type surely you try and convince egg-smith to try red&blue over another gig at the tigers or cedric cox i like more than stoddart in that role too only a year older & could also play a role forward of centre like ah chee did for them in 2020 going to be invited by carlton and compete with jono marsh for the one spot, if i was them i'd take mcdonald. they have casboult in reserve up forward and pitto/TDK can play as a more permanent forward alongside the other in the ruck if curnow/mcgov/mckay miss games clubs currently hate drafting rookies as its so speculative and with shrinking lists its hard to carry them for as long as it takes for them to mature. more likely to get a vfl gig or a second run as an overager in the 18s and have a chance when hes 21/22 then or so it seems
  16. any truth to this? is this on the money?
  17. Lever May Hibbo Salem Petty Rivers Gawn Oliver Petracca Langdon Viney Harmes Fritsch Weid Spargo Pickett BBrown Jackson Jones(Sparrow after 6 weeks) Brayshaw Laurie Hore E: Tomlinson Melksham Jordon Baker for mine

  21. only one reece is pretty decent wouldn't have picked that.
  22. thats the big wait and see really, is pick 21 this year a better player that 14-18 next year. i'm not sure. small forwards can be found outside the first round but fingers crossed he comes good and can have an impact. big year for baker, ANB, bedford, chandler, spargs in the smalls department
  23. eagles nabbed winder late, also whats the bracketted number for?
  24. AFL Draft 2020: Ultimate Guide. How does the bidding system work? So here is the closest we have gotten to confirmation that neither Freo or MFC have nominated K. Farmer as a F/S player with no official word. THE ACADEMY NOMINEES TO LOOK OUT FOR Brisbane Lions: Blake Coleman, Carter Michael Gold Coast Suns: Alex Davies, Joel Jeffrey, Rhys Nicholls, Hewago Paul Oea GWS Giants: Josh Green Sydney Swans: Braeden Campbell, Errol Gulden THE NEXT GENERATION ACADEMY NOMINEES TO LOOK OUT FOR Adelaide Crows: James Borlase, Tariek Newchurch Collingwood: Reef McInnes Essendon: Josh Eyre, Cody Brand Fremantle: Joel Western, Brandon Walker Hawthorn: Connor Downie Port Adelaide: Lachlan Jones West Coast Eagles: Jamison Ugle Western Bulldogs: Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, Cody Raak THE FATHER-SON NOMINEES TO LOOK OUT FOR Port Adelaide: Taj Schofield Richmond: Maurice Rioli Jnr Western Bulldogs: Ewan MacPherson
  25. am i right in saying if we nominate him and get no bids in the national draft he gets added to the list as a category B rookie? same as jiath at hawthorn and khamis at the doggies in recent years? because if thats the case we wouldn't have a rookie spot for a train on SSP player? as we'd have 6 listed rookies so if farmer is any chance at joining then we're ruling out a DFA/train on player and taking a full quota in the national draft or we're picking him at 50 and keeping a train on spot free? or am i completely wrong
