  1. really interested on why he would make your side when we literally had brayshaw playing 60% game time because we couldnt fit him in an inside role. With trac, oliver, viney, harmes, brayshaw and then one of the younger breed ie sparrow taking over from jones i really can't see why we would need another big body anywhere near our side
  2. afl.com.au reporting we are likely to invite smith to train on with us for that last spot on our rookie list. i wonder what the rules are on them training on and then joining as a B rookie as they were technically academy players despite not being nominated. if that's the case could we see Smith and Farmer both invited and both given a chance one as an A rookie and one as a B
  3. stoddart just signed with carltons reserves for the expanded vfl comp next year. at 23 you'd wanna be pretty confident taking mutimer that he offers something unique (what kind of player is he?). and if you're after a HB type surely you try and convince egg-smith to try red&blue over another gig at the tigers or cedric cox i like more than stoddart in that role too only a year older & could also play a role forward of centre like ah chee did for them in 2020 going to be invited by carlton and compete with jono marsh for the one spot, if i was them i'd take mcdonald. they have casboult in reserve up forward and pitto/TDK can play as a more permanent forward alongside the other in the ruck if curnow/mcgov/mckay miss games clubs currently hate drafting rookies as its so speculative and with shrinking lists its hard to carry them for as long as it takes for them to mature. more likely to get a vfl gig or a second run as an overager in the 18s and have a chance when hes 21/22 then or so it seems
  4. any truth to this? is this on the money?
  5. Lever May Hibbo Salem Petty Rivers Gawn Oliver Petracca Langdon Viney Harmes Fritsch Weid Spargo Pickett BBrown Jackson Jones(Sparrow after 6 weeks) Brayshaw Laurie Hore E: Tomlinson Melksham Jordon Baker for mine
  6. two rookie spots, both for SPP. currently 36 is minimum senior list size ✅. 4/6"A" rookies and 1/2 "B" rookies
  7. addem maric was half there if it wasnt for big ivan
  8. must be just about time to see a games played update ;) thanks sm for keeping us in the loop luci <3
  9. only one reece is pretty decent wouldn't have picked that.
  10. thats the big wait and see really, is pick 21 this year a better player that 14-18 next year. i'm not sure. small forwards can be found outside the first round but fingers crossed he comes good and can have an impact. big year for baker, ANB, bedford, chandler, spargs in the smalls department
  11. eagles nabbed winder late, also whats the bracketted number for?
  12. AFL Draft 2020: Ultimate Guide. How does the bidding system work? So here is the closest we have gotten to confirmation that neither Freo or MFC have nominated K. Farmer as a F/S player with no official word. THE ACADEMY NOMINEES TO LOOK OUT FOR Brisbane Lions: Blake Coleman, Carter Michael Gold Coast Suns: Alex Davies, Joel Jeffrey, Rhys Nicholls, Hewago Paul Oea GWS Giants: Josh Green Sydney Swans: Braeden Campbell, Errol Gulden THE NEXT GENERATION ACADEMY NOMINEES TO LOOK OUT FOR Adelaide Crows: James Borlase, Tariek Newchurch Collingwood: Reef McInnes Essendon: Josh Eyre, Cody Brand Fremantle: Joel Western, Brandon Walker Hawthorn: Connor Downie Port Adelaide: Lachlan Jones West Coast Eagles: Jamison Ugle Western Bulldogs: Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, Cody Raak THE FATHER-SON NOMINEES TO LOOK OUT FOR Port Adelaide: Taj Schofield Richmond: Maurice Rioli Jnr Western Bulldogs: Ewan MacPherson
  13. am i right in saying if we nominate him and get no bids in the national draft he gets added to the list as a category B rookie? same as jiath at hawthorn and khamis at the doggies in recent years? because if thats the case we wouldn't have a rookie spot for a train on SSP player? as we'd have 6 listed rookies so if farmer is any chance at joining then we're ruling out a DFA/train on player and taking a full quota in the national draft or we're picking him at 50 and keeping a train on spot free? or am i completely wrong
  14. do we have any idea why theres not a single piece of info on him in a single article discussing club tied players https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-draft-2020-nominations-blake-coleman-josh-eyre-reef-mcinnes-father-son-academy-bidding-system/news-story/3117e9c4af11b92368a7df96739d72cb not a single word on our boy at all
  15. didn't know which thread was most appropriate but how about the news tyson goldsack after a year out is going to unretire and join port as a rookie! pretty spectacular news considering they gave trent mckenzie 2yrs, signed aliir for 4 and still have clurey and jonas back there but hey, good on him for resurecting a career which maybe he had less say in ending than "retirement" suggests
  16. nothing special? if a player is contributing that much to the scoreboard from that many disposals and with that much defensive pressure they can easily be nurtured and maximised in an afl environment!!!
  17. he nominated for the draft?
  18. 1 as Bradtke (B) takes the 5/6 spot likely we carry it over for SSP next january
  19. i was going tosay yesterday that benny gibsons article re neita and JJ didnt mention DFA's when it said why we were demoting them but did mention all other avenues of adding players to lists. I hope there are some DFA's we're sussing but surely its risky to let them slide through the draft process particularly Egg
  20. Bris: Mitch Clark Ess: Melksham bout the only alternatives i can think of, Lumumba unlikely. lot more players move from melbourne elsewhere than come in in recent years which is surprising
  21. he'd only been there two? he joined last January i thought it was 44... yes and that spot we'll likely carry for SSP. so 4 draft picks, 1 DFA and then no live rookie picks but 1 train on spot left free it seems
  22. it makes absolutely no sense why we would demote him and promote lockhart, either way the same amount is being paid outside the cap why not just leave them on the lists they were on? we didn't give lockhart any longer deal to force him up either. baffled
  23. update for the news jordon is to be a rookie?
