  1. definitely too tall, and doesn't solve the pace&pressure problem we have in the forward line. also idk about everyone else but i think sparrow sort of makes these sides on merrit? has he actually done enough to make the team and does he offer enough once he's in? or should we pick someone more flexible/versatile, maybe he needs to play lockdown defence instead of jetta/lockhart as DD36 said below he's hardly a list clogger 21yo 204cm ex-basketballer being paid outside the salary as a cat B... give him a chance still. however i was dissapointed he didn't ruck more often, even in the fwd line he lurked outside the contest not in the ruck and not in the goalsquare melksham/anb/avb have all been busts in this role of recent, i think jones will play a lot of it and harmes too, probably baker is more suited than he is to a wing as well
  2. wiz and maj will get spots and obviously hore misses the season so they'll make him inactive in time for MSD i think the reason deak smith was never on any SSP list during january is because the club wasnt actually ever intersting in adding him to the list this season they just wanted him to train and see what afl training is like before he goes back to TAC level which is U19s this season and hopefully puts in a shift, potentially wasn't even carrying a knock today just not ready for afl level scratch matches so they held him out. petty and bedford ive been keen on for ages and they duly delivered. bowey a massive tick and hunt should be nervous (rivers too after todays display)
  3. i think you've hit alot of nails on the head here, on your hunt point i think his performance today was nothing to write home about and was more of what a bang average performance for a running defender should look like, i still think he's not the answer and he must watch out because bowey looked fantastic. agree re baker that that second wing is still really problematic for us. agree re rivers, chandler and jordon. didn't see as much from sparrow as i anticipated, reckon jordon has passed him in that midfield queue i was only listening to audio as i was working, so would have benefitted from more play-by-play like we got in the first quarter particularly and less interview-style which could have been saved for the breaks, but it was still informative and enjoyable to hear, did mean i didn't get a perfect read on how each player performed petty is so much better than tomlinson, wake up goody! i think tim lamb gave away most of his plans in that third quarter. was very stern on saying we have two spots and hore has not been made inactive and that we will carry one over. he also said that deakyn was only allowed 1 session a week unless he was officially added to the SSP program so i think it was meant to just be work experience for him and he'll play overage TAC cup this season, with farmer and maj to get the spots and hore's place going to the MSD. also did we hear anything re neitschke's knee? i know he went off and was getting it looked at... no news is good news? just a jar? Likes: his coathanger/ear massage on lynch in the first quarter!
  4. surprise: petty at CHB, and farmer debut, jetta reclaims spot (i dont believe it myself even!) whipping: anb, avb, tmac, hunt are in my sights i think a left field whip target could be salem/hibbo by mid season from a lot of DLs
  5. just a bit of humour... i also had him on a wing but i didn't have a defender on the bench INT: Sparrow Brayshaw Jordon Jones these players will rotate through there/hunt or riv might spend time there too. ik we want to settle the position but no ones claimed it yet
  6. ainsworth is settled in that suns side and serong is off the table too i'd imagine i think Tippa is getable out of the dons as they sink down the ladder, lipinski is too good to be playing 2s at the dogs and suits that melksham role (or vandemeer) and jelly could be the big fish we need for the non langdon wing. ik its unrealistic we get all these options but one maybe two improves our side tenfold
  7. what was the point of this
  8. i think this is one of the big flaws in our list structure, we dont expose our draftees early enough and we dont like seeing Jones, Melk, ANB, AVB, MBrown on team sheets but we've got Baker (12 games at 22yo), Sparrow, (7, 21), Bedford (2, 20), Nieta, Jordon, Chandler (1, 20) who are just as unproven and they've had 3+ years on the list. can any of them really be trusted at senior level consistently who knows? but 3 years on the list without any real form at senior level is a big punt that they're going to come good soon- and soon it has to be. imagine if port held rozzee, duursma and butters back or bailey smith at the dogs coz their midfield was too stacked. yet we consistently turn to old reliable and i'm scared we'll be exposed for it this year. maybe our list isn't as consolidated as we all believe it is.
  9. fun police - let us speculate, it fills the time
  10. i see Majak in the 40 Farmer has 48 and if deak gets listed give him the 47
  11. R1 -expected B: Lever May Lockhart HB: Hunt Tomlinson Rivers C; Langdon Viney Salem HF: Fritsch TMac Harmes FF: Pickett Jackson Spargs R: Gawn Oliver Petracca INT: Sparrow Brayshaw Jordon Jones E: MBrown Baker Jetta Rosman R2 changes OUT: TMac, Jordon, Lockhart, Hunt, Baker, Spargo isnt that how it goes?
  12. nieta should get a run at it at some stage and jordon, maybe baker could be a HFF? doesnt get enough of the pill to play the wing or execute his kicks but could find the goals and has speeed
  13. harmes to HF jordon in? plz no nibbler/vanders goody plz
  14. didn't even mention spargs coz he's so locked into that round 1 side. i really want to see harmes play that high HF role, i remember the day of him kicking 4 and taking some hangers
  15. i am unashamedly not an ANB fan, i think he's just billy stretch with a tank. personally i'd be picking laurie or bedford as the 7th and definitely one of them if pickett misses too. or chandler. these guys were recruited to play small pressure forward so lets give them a chance to show it
  16. player driven, i do agree a move to gws is unlikely, daw has a young child and his brother is settled here in melbourne playing for north heidelberg under boomer. would take a lot of convincing to move away from his support network like that you'd think
  17. i agree re weid's potential and i think it was naive of us to trade Hogan when we did and expose weid after 2 good games and we've paid the price for that by not having a functioning forward line whatsoever for the last two years. i think daw is a good addition to the list and i expect he will see some senior action early in the season when tmac fails to impact
  18. you have to go in with the same structure you've spent the last 3-4 months perfecting. Hunt has trained with the backline so he's playing in the backline, therefore round 1 is Fritsch TMac Melky Pickett(?) Jackson Spargo
  19. im in, Turnernators
  20. new this year Team name is Turnernators, finished in the top 10k the last 4 years on TP if thats anything to go by for leagues
  21. entirely on hope and wish ?
  22. what about for statistics actually relevant for a KPF? marks, score involvements, accuracy?
  23. i'd say he's almost a certainty to finish his 3rd Cat B rookie this year with a promotion to the senior list, u dont put that much time in for no reason and he's one of only 2 recognised ruckmen on our list. i'd even go as far as suggesting it'll be a 2yr deal.
  24. Fullarton has jumped ahead of him and looks the goods as a super athletic basketball convert, however theyre likely to go in with just 1 ruck in McInerney with McStay, Hipwood and Daniher down forward pinching
  25. would honestly rather MBrown over TMac and give it till round 8 and i think the coaches will too if it comes to it
