  1. don't believe i mentioned salary cap once?
  2. couldn't be better timing MBrown, Majak, TMac all withering out and we get a project tall to slip into one of their spots and Chandler, Bedford, Baker not quite making the jump after 3-4 years as smalls and we get a little indigenous boy who even if he goes back alongside Bowey & Deak is going to be so nice when we start to lose Jets, Hib and with the jury still out on Hunts long term spot in the side. Is it bad that i'm excited for october already?
  3. and my god has he timed his run perfectly, game suits his style and he's looking like the weapon he's always threatened to be. just hope this doesn't turn into a stevie motlop where u get one good season just in time for ur big pay packet like he did at geelong and another in his FA year when port snapped him up
  4. conceptually i agree with u but not on a personel basis, improving the ratio of hunters to distributors in our midfield would benefit the side but i'd struggle to throw any of them out of the club i like them all. even harmsey who cops the brunt of the heat i'd feel bad for as a childhood dees fan, and viney obviously as the father-son, too wholesome for me to dismiss either of those boys. "the irish boy" happens to be a member of their leadership group and played in a grand finalist side so lets not pretend he's fresh of the plane and we've never heard of his existence before come on now. and fair fks to him too he's done a bloody good job round 2 and backed it up on titch as well
  5. and then the whole supermarket turned around and applauded... DHOTYA don't need to be a smart person to know matt de boer is in the side to tag the oppos premier onballer
  6. could easily run with dahl who is horribly out of form and has never been the quickest assuming he stays in the side and fog plays for carlton so u wont have to worry about him ripping jets to shreds he also kicked 2 goals last week against last years preliminary finalists but that doesn't suit the agenda
  7. who? guthrie? just about their only midfied who is honest and all grit, would never shirk the contest
  8. tmac goes out firstly imo as soon as this week for majak. every other side has key forwards dominating ours cant even lay a hand on it. and 5 tackles my [censored], he just sits on the tackle someone else made at the top of the goalsquare to get the stat not once did he actually instigate a tackle or put the chase in himself it was just fortunate the smalls were doing their jobs right under him. probably the jones/sparrow spot that goes to jacko to fit weid and BBB in
  9. Turner replied to Elegt's topic in Melbourne Demons
    bump ??????? hindsight 20:20 aye
  10. Sparrows place is shaky but 4 tackles means he's contributing to our front half pressure which melky historically doesn't so no change there for mine, every other teams key power forward is contributing massively of the scoreboard ours can't even get one mit near it so TMac out Majak in the modern game should suit him and he's got the strength to out muscle his oppo, if it doesn't work out we haven't lost anything from our game to try it
  11. Gawn Pickett Hunt Fritsch Viney Rivers
  12. not really? he's been sub every week and they haven't had an injury to require activating him, thats just the luck of the gig no fault of his own
  13. they do this to rotate the player not playing so the same player doesn't go more than a week without an actual match of footy, my guess is melky in the vest today
  14. yep and yep https://twitter.com/gdigiorgio/status/1377914644212326404?s=20
  15. lipinski right at the top of the list after being dropped and the most afl proven richards second for mine due to upside and our needs then laitham, weightman and i wouldn't even bother with roarke he's a 6yr player with about 14 career games no thankyouuu
  16. Liam "The Walpiri Wizard" Jurrah thanks
  17. couldnt agree more, plays the wing really well and across half forward Round 1: 26 touches, 9K17H not great but 96% efficiency (1 turnover) 62% of touches in offensive half Round 2: 2- touches, much better 10K10H still 85% eff, 61% defensive half very complete player just being squeezed out due to strength of depth with mclean to return next year too should never have made it purely on the basis that he looks like a bloody bald elf! biggest ears in the history of afl?
  18. was that a red head joke
  19. been on one year deals for some time now - not sure exactly how long @Lucifer's Heroany idea?
  20. anyone who is expecting anything other than this is wrong. lets the player assess where the club goes and also sets themselves up for massive pay day based on other clubs offers we match or other offers they take. afl exchange podcast made a great point today that all clubs should look to backload all players contracts in their FA year in order for them to be RFA like gws did with corr who annually across his career is clearly not in their top 10% of earners but he was last year in order for them to receive compensation on the chance he leaves. going off the 2021 contracts forum it appears we've done the same with hunt somehow which must mean he's earning peanuts this year coz if that man is getting any more than about 500k all up over these two years we better take a long hard look at ourselves
  21. how dare u leave out aussie wonaeamirri ;)
  22. well to date obviously. but you'd think he and buddy are locks in TOTC
  23. geez not sure theres much more gaz coulda done in the game. absolutely deserved the little master tag he's the best i've seen in my lifetime and best player of this century undisputed
  24. bottom 6: hunt, sparrow, jordon, jones, historically i'd have nibbler but gee he's been good and tmac
  25. u been rubbing your nose in something the way that reads! it looked like he slowed down and actually didnt tuck up and bump but more let the saints bloke sorta drive into his hip, no issue but [censored] was there. the reason we got the win was our pressure we were constantly on them all the time! they very rarely had an uncontested possession where they were able to have time to use the ball well
