  1. Bartram - playing above weight Bate - our best player Bell - what a dud Bruce - poor game Brucey Buckley - lets persist with Dunn - not a tagger Frawley - dropped for Rivers Garland - worthy of spot Green - has be captain (over the other two!) Johnson - pretends he's a mid Jones - poor decision making McDonald - has really dropped McLean - we need more Miller - tried but limited Moloney - not his best Robbo - really struggled yesterday (before injury) Sylvia - wasn't to bad Warnock - just a game Wheatley - another fine performance White - time for Meesen? Yze - shame he's old Wonaemirri - felt the sting (of no marking forwards)
  2. B: Matthew Warnock, Colin Garland, Daniel Bell HB: James Frawley, Ben Holland, Cameron Bruce C: Clint Bartram, Brock McLean, Matthew Bate HF: Brad Green, Russell Robertson, Brent Moloney F: Simon Buckley, Brad Miller, Austin Wonaeamirri Foll: Jeff White, James McDonald, Nathan Jones I/C (from): Jace Bode, Lynden Dunn, Chris Johnson,Colin Sylvia, Paul Wheatley, Paul Johnson, Adem Yze Assuming the 18 stays as is. My bench would be: PJ (need the backup ruckman) Sylvia (is best 22) CJ (Sandy form deserving) Yze (Sandy form deserving, plus forward livewire replacement for Davey) I would love Wheatley to play but unfortunately I reckon Bails will do his usual game at Sandy before playing thing. Dunn needs to do something at Sandy, he is def AFL standard, just out of form. Go away Bode.
  3. You could argue anything over any player, thing or myth and put together the words. But it's hard to argue with recruiter knowledge in this day and age. That is my point, the OP has no right to claim Morton as a wasted pick, just like no one has the right to claim Myers was a wasted pick. Palmer has had a good start to his first season, for now, it should be left at that because they could all end up duds.
  4. I would like that too. But just think he needs to have an impact at Sandy first.
  5. Actually ive played alot of footy, sorry I didn't explain that you don't know anything about an internet poster in his own life...... What do you know better than anyone else about recruiting? id suggest not any more than myself, im going by what I have read pre draft etc, people who I would assume saw more of Palmer/Morton than you. If you read the original post I said that I wanted Palmer, because I knew he could go immediately. He has, and he will go for 150+ games minimum. Just said in relation to the OP saying he is easily better and going to be better than Morton is not true. That said Morton could easily turn out a shocker in 4 years and de-listed. He has been fantastic and I think will be an upper class midfielder for the next 8 years. However from what I have seen he does not have much room left to develop. IN MY OPINION, Morton has alot more potential.
  6. Will always hit his target, kick the goal etc. So much poise and time, he truely knows what he is doing with the ball. Palmer often grabs out of centre and just nags it, people don't notice when looking at the stat sheet how many kicks were not effective.
  7. Actually I can, there is not much room for improvement right now, he was a gun in the championships and as a junior, there was a reason he wasn't number 1 pick. Recruiters thought he wouldn't get much better than he is now. While alot said Morton had the most potential in the draft, he could be anything, Palmer was a sure fire bet to be a 150+ game performer for whatever club he went to. But Morton has the skill, time and poise that Palmer doesn't have, the only thing he is lacking is strength, which will come. Palmer can slightly improve his awareness and skill, but he won't make the drastic improvments that we hope Morton will. Palmer will have a great career with his effort, hard running, determination. But if you can't see that if Morton applies this same work ethic he will be an amazing player you are kidding yourself, his natural god given talent is an absolute thing of beauty to a football purist.
  8. Palmer is at his best already, your right he is killing it, but that's it, he doesn't really have much room to improve, I admit I wanted him too, he was my number 1 choice. But sadly no, it didn't happen, but you cannot deny Morton has the best set of skills for a young guy like every and if he puts on 10 kilos will be a classy superstar like Jimmy Hird.
  9. Whelan Warnock Rivers Bruce Garland Bartram Morton Jones Buckley Bate Miller Green Wonaeamirri Holland Robbo White Mclean Mcdonald Moloney C Johnson Valenti PJ Out: Frawley (rivers/garland/warnock better) Davey (strained his hammy, might play) Jamar (dud) Bell (dud) Ins: Whelan (is best 22) Rivers (is best 22) White (is best 22) CJ (would rather Sylvia as he is best 22, but CJ has been best on ground 2 weeks straight with Sandy and Bails won't ignore) EMG: Yze, Sylvia, Jamar
  10. I knocked him big time. My brother and I actually discussed on Saturday that we are starting to like him. Then yesterdays effort. I personally rate Warnock higher still but he has been around longer. A good game that I hope he backs up. Definately best 22 right now.
  11. Bartram - is getting better Bate - a great game Bell - is a joke Bruce - good, solid game Buckley - his best yet Davey - best on ground Frawley - is learning still Garland - I was shocked Green - next mfc captain (for a season) Holland - a good debut Jamar - excellent tap work Johnson - not really sighted Jones - showed his toughness McDonald - tough defensive job McLean - starting to lift Miller - ran all day Moloney - finding his form Morton - quite but good Robertson - was playing well Warnock - loving the man Valenti - one percenters machine!! Wonaeamirri - more than goal-sneak
  12. One change... Benny Holland is in!!! BENNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. B: Warnock, Garland, Bell HB: Bartram, P.Johnson, Bruce C: Green, McLean, Bate HF: Morton, Robertson, Moloney F: Davey, Miller, Wonaeamirri FOLL: White, McDonald, Jones I/C from: Buckley, Holland, C.Johnson, Yze, Valenti Bolded because I truely can't choose who will play out of these two. EMG: Frawley, Bode, ? I actually think Chip will get dropped. He hasn't been outstanding, hasn't been bad either. They obviously are thinking Holland on Roughead. Garland played to well last week to drop and we also have Warnock. Yze will play I think. It's time to give him another go.
  14. I stopped reading once I read their membership facts. We have 27,000 members this year (they said 26,400) and we had 28,000 last year (they said 27,000.) If you can't get this very basic part of the article right then high chance the rest is wrong/fabricated. No doubt we are going to request more money, we need it, we are in trouble. But this article is so badly done right from the first paragraph that I would hope the journo who has their named attached stole their 14 year old sons English homework. Although honestly, my 8 year old niece would understand the basis of a basic point of view essay (or is it analytical?) you can't tell because thats how poor it is. Your facts have no merit if they are wrong.
  15. Gotta make it count.... DO we really want to see our club legends number sitting on the back of the next Stanton or Maxwell.....?
  16. What I would like to see: Inclusions bolded. Backs: Whelan Frawley Carroll Half Backs: Rivers Warnock Bruce Centres: Sylvia, Mclean, Morton Half Forwards: Bate, Miller, Davey Forwards: Wonaeamirri, Robbo, Green Followers: White, Mcdonald, Jones. Interchange: Valenti, Johnson, Garland, Moloney
  17. Wasn't he draft pick 60 something? Shut up the lot of you, more than you ever could have wished for.
  18. Must be sad to know he has probably been our best this year.
  19. Haha, dno, Grand Theft Auto 4 is pretty damn wiked.... Perhaps it is you who is missing out. P.S I still have connect 4 from when I was little.
  20. Indeed they did, have a look on the Adelaide board on bigfooty. They have bumped a thread from long before last years draft talking about getting him to the club.
  21. Mundy - He is a younger version of Wheatley imo. Won't be elite but will contribute for a solid 8 years more with the regular 22. Warnock - Someone we really should look at getting, there is still a high high high chance we will not get the number 1 pick as we are not blooding youth and completely bottoming out. So that means we probably won't get Naita. With White to retire this year or the year after, PJ coming along, our ruck division would be set. Murphy - All the talent in the world, think he may benifit getting out of Freo. But to me, he is just like Newton, not a strong guy, attitude is questioned.
  22. Dno if you know this but it has been on record many times that those two are great mates. I have often called my mates soft as well, doesn't make it true. Plus he did the right thing by you. I can't count the amount of times after one of my games did some guy at the bar gave his 2 cents on the inner workings of the club and the people involved in it, team mates/coaches. Guess what I did everytime, smiled. In fact I remember a few years ago at a party I was with a group of mates from school who all played Eastern Rangers and met the not drafted yet Matthew Bate. Later that night I was just talking to a bloke I knew who at the time was Baters best mate. Some guy after Bate left came up to us and said Matt sucks, he is soft and doesn't have a good footy brain, no need to argue with a drunken idiot, so he just smiled and said yeah you may be right there. When the guy left he said what a [censored].
  23. 99% sure he is in contract, but still, would love Kerr!! If RR is willing I say lets do it!!
  24. We won't get a Pav or a Brown. Im telling you, Kerr is the way to go, at 24, he would be a fast paced skillful almost certain brownlow winning midfielder for the future. We could easily trade for him, pick him up in pre-season draft and we could afford. With Yze etc leaving we will have the money to pay this guy enough money to make sure he doesn't want to go anywhere else. Stuff Judd, I like Kerr more anyway.
  25. Target Kerr. As if he wouldn't want to play with Warnock, Mclean, Jones and possibly Natanui for the rest of his career. Imagine what having Kerr would do for the careers of Mclean, Sylvia and Jones.
