  1. Bartram - Seasons best game Bate - Is really struggling Bell - Wasn't his worst Bruce - He stepped up Buckley - Gut busting game Frawley - Solid down back Green - Another stellar performance Jamar - playing decent footy P.Johnson - the mobile ruckman Jones - a better game McDonald - a leaders game Maric - Some nice things Martin - Has great courage Miller - Set the tone Morton - I love you Newton - A good effort Sylvia - a great game Warnock - Continues to impress Wheatley - prolific, great kicking Whelan - Hard, tough, skillful Valenti - A solid output Wonaeamirri - Body is tired
  2. Number 1: Jack Watts Number 17: Matt De Boer or Mitch Robinson Number 19: Mckernan or Roughead
  3. Out: White, Carroll, (I want Bate but Bailey won't do it so probably) Bartram or someone like that In: Davey, Jamar, Miller
  4. I don't like the trade of Sylvia for Davey at all. Plus they won't do it, no way, no how. They wouldn't trade one of their top 5 best mids/forwards at his age for anything less than our pick 17/19. A deal I believe could be reached if we swapped pick 19 for Davey and their 3rd rounder. But even then it's a long shot EFC would accept, Davey for pick 19, they would accept if he wants out. Of course all deals would dramatically change if he is out of contract and we could get him out of the pre-season draft. However I must make sure everyone knows. I don't believe this rumour will have anything come of it at all.
  5. Made me very happy to see this as I ate my breakfast at around 6.30 this morning, couldn't be happier with how Brock has gone about it.
  6. Jesus christ KJ!!! I feel like I should move over there and play for you guys!! Im not AFL standard but id at least get the ball in the F50.
  7. Yes Bailey did say that. The players never decided the captain. I still hope it's Green but I'll support whoever gets the honour. Just hope we don't go with two captains, I just don't rate doing that at all.
  8. MCC, Level 1, in line with the bench as always. Unfortunately my brother will be missing this game due to a trip up to Sydney but im making up the numbers by bringing along my Aunt. Plus im going to bring the misses for her 2nd game this year, hope we put up a fight, it's hard to convert someone when her first game was round 1 this season.
  9. While I love Brucey and Jmac. I really do not believe either should be captain next season. I would be very disappointed if Bailey doesn't put it to a vote or something, because it should be Brad Green, seriously everyone, he deserves it. If that is not possible in Bails mind then perhaps it's time to move on and elect a younger player, perhaps Miller/Brock. I believe if any senior player is going to be captain it has to be Green, Bruce and Jmac for the leadership group, but Greeney should be leading the club as he has proven he will go and fight when the team is struggling and needs him.
  10. He is and thats why I said I don't think they will ask. Just saying he seems like he loves the club and would if he was asked.
  11. Definately not, Bruce is the highest paid player at the club, he is the 350k-400k area. Closer to 400k I think. Then the Yzes, Whites, Robbos etc will be on 350k. Id say Holland would be one 150k. He only got a 1 year deal and we knew he wouldn't be killing it all season.
  12. I have a feeling he is on around the 350k to 400k mark. Remember hearing that when he signed his heavily back ended contract years ago so he wouldn't go to the Pies. He would be our highest paid player, along with Yze who is on about 350k as well. I assume Robbo would be on big cash and Green should be getting paid a bit. It won't be so hard to cut it down, with Yze, White, Neitz off the books we should already cut about 700k-800k from the books. Then it's just about looking at what we have got, I could see Brucey and Green taking a cut, they love the club and will help out if asked (then again I don't think they will be asked). Also, I think we stop paying the 200k of TJ's salary next season, so thats about 1mil off the books next year. Plus Robbo and Jmac are going to be veterans, so the cap should look fine.
  13. Listened to the 2nd half of the hour. He needs to be captain. MFC, listen to the people..... and happening harf.
  14. I think people need to get off their high horse. You have no idea if he meant the words to come out like that, Sam isn't exactly well known for constructing sentences properly. Move on, the MP had a personal phone call from Sam on the night apologising, she accepted and said she didn't believe he meant any harm. To make any connection between Sams comments and her attempted suicide are foolish at best. She has been having serious realtionship and family issues. I highly doubt an off camera remark that could be taken in more ways than one would make someone kill herself, give her some credit, she is stronger than that.
  15. Out: Garland (hamstring) In: Miller I think Davey will play and Jones will spend one more week at Sandy. Wish I could get rid of Bell but Petterd is still out. BP: Whelan Martin Bell FP: Stokes Lonergan Johnson HB: CJohnson Warnock Wheatley HF: Gamble Mooney Selwood C: Green Dunn Bruce C: Corey Ling Kelly HF: Morton Miller Bate HB: Rooke Scarlett Mackie FP: PJohnson Sylvia Wona BP: Harley Hunt Enright R: Jamar Mcdonald Davey R: Ottens Ablett Bartel Inter: Valenti, Bell, Maric, Buckley Inter: Blake, Varcoe, Prismall *forgetting someone from Geelong. Milburn out will help us a fair bit. And is more reason to bring in Miller. Ive got Ablett coming back, lets hope not.
  16. Yes but foxtel matched every dollar over 100k. So you double what was donated.
  17. I'll be there, as usual. Bring your voice Dees supporters. Let everyone know while there isn't many of us, of what there are we are bloody passionate.
  18. As an MCC and a MFC member I would be happy to see this happen.
  19. This is important, we have dropped 3 slow guys for 3 faster guys. Wheatleys speed is seriously under rated. Wona is quicker than we realise. Green has solid pace. I think we will see a midfield rotation that provides speed and endurance for most of the game. Buckley might get a run purely because of his spped. Davey will play midfield. Mcdonald and Dunn will 100% play midfield their endurance and stopping ability will be needed against Hille and Watson. Bartram might get a run as well. Naturally we will also see Bruce/Green for a few stints.
  20. He has definately been hitting targets, just look at his efficiency rating, I think his skills are his best asset. He could be more damaging though, thats the next step for him, needs to be able to push up and set up/kick goals.
  21. It feels so good when my strong strong faith is rewarded, only doubted him once (after nth game) but two days later I was back supporting him. Perfect for our teams gameplan. I love being wrong as well (re Garland) but it feels better when you were on from the start. Lets just hope he continues this way.
  22. Well he really doesn't fit in with the youth policy and he has been extremely questionable with his selfishness. Im not going to lie I have had a major love/hate relationship with Robbo, always saw him as a junk time specialist and he didn't know how to take a mark with his hands out instead of chest. But all that anger towards him never completely blinded my judgement. He is a very very good player and we have been lucky to have him. I do believe he will work in our forward line, and think he can help us alot, ideally he would not be the focus, he has spent his entire career playing taller than he should have because we had no other options. I believe he can play an important role for us next season. Playing as our key target as we bring in and try out new players. If we draft Watts it will help Jack get accustomed to being an AFL forward, as the best defender will go to Robbo, if we didn't have him the best would go to our first year FF, which is dangerous. If we draft Naitanui it will help in a few aspects, I believe Naita will spend the majority of his first years as a CHF/FP who pinch hits in the ruck. It will do a great deal for his confidence as both a ruckman (so he trusts what he is doing for the team to eventually score is worth it) and as a forward because like Watts the pressure would be to great for such a young player. Robbo is worth keeping on for the next 2 years after this one. But if his form doesn't do what we need next season due to poor (see Yze) form or if the injury has effected his game to much then I would most likely change my stance as he would be doing more harm than good.
  23. A bit of love for De Boer wouldn't go astray. He was predicted to be a top 10 pick but has kind of been lost with all the hype surrounding Nait and Rich, hoping he could slide to 17.
  24. We are doing pretty well defensively. But the attack issues have not really been a problem with form or talent. It's an issue of injuries and club building. Injuries to Neitz and Robbo were always going to be damning on our stats. Plus the clubs strong youth policy will hurt our scoring options. We could always play Yze and Holland every week and we would probably get a few goals out of each of them. But whats the point, I love Holland but he is to old to be in the plans and Yzes frequent selfish play is not a trait we want the younger players learning. No doubt Yze could come in and kick a few bags, thus bolsting our averages, but the forward line is working, because it is building a team based defensive pressure focus for the future, even though the stats don't look great, we as supporters can see every week that while the forward line is not ideal, it's for the greater good.
  25. Yes I would prefer that too. We can't be 100% sure Wheatley is coming back though. Pretty certain Green will play this week, hoping the 22 is below. BP: Whelan Warnock Martin HB: Green Garland Petterd C: Davey Jones CJohnson HF: Bruce Bate Maric FP: Wona Miller PJ R: Jamar Macca Dunn Inter: Buckley, Valenti, Morton, Bartram/Sylvia (either way)
