  1. We won last week, if we got pumped he would be coming in but it's unfair to drop anyone from that winning team. Our team is very young and to drop any young player such as Bennell or Bartram would be the stupidest thing ever. They worked their asses off last week for a win and you want to take it away for them, why? Makes no sense. I rate Maric highly, but guys he isn't a veteran, he has 10+ years left in this game. No point dropping winning players for him right now.
  2. Cheney, Spencer and Maric will be emergencies. Definately only 1 change.
  3. After seeing him play last week he should definately play Casey seniors this week. But im not sure if he will play any AFL footy until about June, so round 11 plus....
  4. Could very well be under 20k..... Twilight games are so stupid, especially at the MCG, especially on a 14 degree day, just imagine how cold it will be at night. The average fan won't be coming to this game, hell im sure even a few die hards will give it a miss.
  5. My god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why drop players? specifically young players.... when they get their first big win. It's about building team confidence, we don't have stars, they all worked as a team and we got a result, so why in the world would we drop these players? It will kill their confidence, especially players like Jetta, Bennell and Bartram. FOOLISH!! Only change.... Out: Green In: Macca (if fit), Maric (if Macca isn't fit)
  6. Id hope so, id like to see what he can do with some better delivery.... He often made good leads only for the ball to be kicked over his head... I was sitting with some Port Melbourne seniors guys that I know and they all agreed that he moved very well and seemed alot stronger than they thought he would be with all the skinny talk.
  7. Went down and had a look at the Reserves.... Watts struggled to find the footy at all early, but not his fault, horrible supply. You could see how frustrated he was, and in the second quarter started to push up the ground. The 3rd is when Watts shined, he still didn't get the ball a heap but was gold everytime he did, he moves incredibly well for a big boy (has put on a ton of weight since last season). He is composed, fast, skillful and a team player, really rated his 2nd half. He ended the game with 20 possessions and 1 goal
  8. Haha JUCIE!!!! Named in the starting 18 so definately playing.... Id like the bench to be Jones, Spencer, Maric, Cheney/Petterd

    Butcher?

Jack Watts had a good team to....
  10. I want to see Jetta, Bennell and Cheney hold their spots. Would also like to see Spencer come back in for PJ. Macca will definately come in and definately bring in Maric So my ins: Spencer, Macca, Maric Still thinking about who I should drop, definately PJ.
  11. Sadly..... I think Colin needs a change of team. I still think he will be a star of the game, just not a star of Melbourne.
  12. Out: Bennell, PJ, Bate In: Dunn, Meeson, Newton
  13. Simple really, we have no decent users of the ball coming out of defence, Davey gets the kicks out so we don't have turnovers in the defensive 50.
  14. Didn't mind his 45 metre goal off one step though....
  15. According to the radio after the game Wona will be right to go.... In: Wonaeamirri, Sylvia Out: Bate, Bennell (Possibly switch Frawley for Martin as well) I agree with other peoples opinion, Sylvia didn't do enough.... but Bate was pathetic, and they can play the same type of position. Colin has alot of growing up to do, but as a footballer he can do more than Bate, so one dimensional. I liked Bennell, he seems ok but if I had to choose he or Jetta as the next small player out of the side, even though Jetta made some mistakes, his body was able to make more of an impact. Bennell at somewhere around 68kg's is just not big enough yet, let him develop in the 2's.
  16. 100% correct!!
  17. I would like the bench to be.... Bennell - Will be good for the backline with the Kangas good small forward brigade Jetta - To be at the feet of the packs up forward in the absence of Aussie Jones - Is a given imo Cheney/Martin - Happy with either, that would both serve a purpose
  18. According to the Herald Sun Jack Grimes has injured his back and won't play round 1. It is a different part of the back which is injured. So at least it isn't flaring up in the same spot. I don't know how to post the article on here, but it was in todays sun, page 83 in the Footy Shorts section titled "Grimes Back Woe".
  19. "90% of our team is currently borderline best 22 because of how bad we are, but if I had to pick 22 borderline players, I would definately pick Sylvia" Above is what I said..... Im saying almost our entire team is borderline, and even if your right and Sylvia is nothing more than borderline..... out of all the borderlines he would definately make the top 22. If you stop thinking about potential, what number he was drafted or personal beliefs on his attitude, fact is he deserves to be in that 22 and deserves to be in the best 22.
  20. Way to take an argument about a player and turn it into a get over yourself battle, cause that is certainly the way to win an argument. How hasn't he cemented a spot in our best 22? Just because he isn't a guaranteed top 10 player doesn't mean his is no good either..... 90% of our team is currently borderline best 22 because of how bad we are, but if I had to pick 22 borderline players, I would definately pick Sylvia. To me people who can honestly say that he shouldn't be in our best 22 are seriously overhyping our younger brigade and our older players, Sylvia is in our best 22, no question about it, hence why he plays everyweek. Take off the Sylvia hating glasses and look at the players as just a number on a jersey, no potential, no draft position etc and number 12 must surely be in the 22.
  21. Peoples constant bagging of Sylvia is getting to the point of Yze_Magics bagging of Bruce.... Bottom line, he isn't a bad player, and if anyone is overhyping him it's you guys that bag him for not being our best player, he is easily in our best 22 and I think you people might need to lower your hopes on him a bit.... He is a good player who could be very good, but thats it, just because he isn't a star doesn't mean he isn't a good player.... Get over yourselves.
  22. I'll give a few words for what I thought of some of the boys... The ones I can remember anyway Wonaeamirri - Was BOG, he had a very good day, the weight that he lost seems to have really added to his agility and he was very impressive... (even had a very lucky call from the umpire in a marking contest with Warnock, it was a total joke that they give him that mark) Garland - Was good, he has defender written all over him, long arms and good pace. He beat Newton, and had a good contest when on Miller. It was a good game and looks like Garland isn't a one year wonder. Newton - Dropped marks, often spoiled by Garland, and at one point out muscled by Morton..... Wasn't very happy at all, but I tried to think positive, and trick myself into believeing Garland was just way to good of a player. Miller - Had a good day, was imposing up forward and kicked 3 goals. He did well on both Garland and Warnock.... Even in a scratch match he was talkative, always in Garlands ear having a joke (the shy Tassie boy didn't seem to dare say anything back.... Warnock on the other hand....) Morton - Such skill.... He runs to the right spots, finds space and knows what he is doing, will be a star!! Jetta - Really really really liked Jetta. I was very happy we drafted him as I thought he was the type of player who could make an early impact, and Saturday proved this to me. Strong overhead mark for his size and alot of fight, will be a player. Valenti - Had a good game, he may be a limited player but of what he can do, he does pretty damn well. Bennell - Has good skill and pace, while he was a bit of an unknown at draft time I can see why West Coast were trying to keep him quite, looks like he could be a good defender. Warnock - Seems to get missed in alot of the future talk, being replaced by Martin as the big full back for alot of people future best 22's.... But the guy can play, he is an excellent stopper Sylvia - Didn't have a massive day but did enough to keep my hopes alive. He was strong when it came to cutting off the ball.... overall he had a decent game Mclean - Was obviously being eased in as he was not at full pace, still it was good to see him out there getting a touch Meeson - I couldn't help but laugh whenever he had the ball, there were times he used his speed and size to get around a player, but would then completely botch the handpass. Petterd - Had a decent hit out, got his hands on the footy a few times and took a nice mark up forward, I liked what I saw. Grimes - Looked pretty good to me, isn't what you would call an athlete but seems pretty smart in the way he goes about it, I liked his skills Overall it was a good day... the most noticeable player was Wonaeamirri, he was lean, he had a new number and he took the game on, I was a big fan of his output. Morton was looking great, and really pleased me to see how he was playing. I believe I was correct with my original thoughts on Jetta when we drafted him, he should be the player who really gets a go this year, I see him playing a fair bit of footy. Other things of note were that Melbourne fans have no idea.... the amount of people who thought Stef Martin was Jeff White because of the new number was astonishing.... Casey Fields is an excellent set up and the ground looked superb! However all my comments above are probably useless..... as I spent alot of my day watching the runner.... sure he didn't get a kick but he ran well!!
  23. Got to admit im loving all this talk about Sylvia.... People bag Sylvs, but really, we all love that great man.
  24. Is there anything worse!! "BACK OFF LADY IT'S MY KID!!"
  25. Just call him Jack.
