  1. I'll always remember this as one of our greatest comebacks. With the wiz lining up against us no less
  2. When little is going wrong with the team holistically, it makes sense that we turn our focus to our handful of perceived weaknesses right now. SW is certainly that. I've said it before, but I'll say it again. SW has not had a kind career to date as far as development from continuity goes. Most players of his brethren have played an entire seasons more games than him. I think a lot of people underestimate the effect that can have on a key position player. I'm not in the camp of defending SW's current output by any means, but all I would say is I'd rather us be patient and give him as many games as possible. There's little doubt that he has the means to become a very good forward, something just needs to click. You just know if we traded him he'd start having 40+ seasons pretty quickly, and at age 24 he has plenty of them ahead. I don't know if I'm alone here, but BB so far as been pretty uninspiring. To rock up to the two's and get embarrassed with a 4 touch game and no goals tells me everything I need to know about him - he ain't gonna be the one to rip apart the finals for us. Not saying SW will be either , but what I've seen from him to date tells me he is close to being that player, while BB has proven to me he definitely won't be. SW had a cracking 2018 finals campaign, so at least we know he is capable of it on the big stage. Bottom line from me is - be patient. We're 11-1 and beating the best teams, so the fact is we can afford to bide our time playing SW until it clicks (and of course it will, you're an [censored] if you don't think he's going to come good). If it starts effecting us winning games, I'll reconsider my position, but until then we should be pumping as many games into the 24 year old long term KPF prospect as possible.
  3. Of course he is. I love what sparrow is starting to do though
  4. I really feel for those that still canโ€™t just enjoy a game footy
  5. No one is safe from your sharp wit, myself included ?
  6. This makes me very proud to be an MFC member
  7. I wasn't talking about the player, the Murray and Darling are her favourites
  8. Can't wait to see what coaching masterclass Goody is gonna serve up tonight Good is definitely the right guy
  9. Fantastic young player and already a very important part of the 22. My only knock on River's is that my wife finds him quite attractive
  10. This seems like the easiest solution, but I wonder if the various commercial contracts the AFL is engaged in makes it untenable. One example I can think of would be around the TV advertising, where advertisers may pay for specific blocks of air time to coincide with things like product launches, major company announcements etc. I would imagine the AFL moving games around may breach contracts and incur financial penalties. TV is where the real money is for the AFL, not at the gate.
  11. Post a shirtless selfie so we know that you know what you're talking about
  12. As resident of Canberra I say Manuka is a great option
  13. Weid I reckon. Depends on the metrics your applying
  14. Sure, but on the other hand weโ€™re 10-1. Something is working right. Whatโ€™s more important, having every play rack up โ€˜xโ€™ amount of stats each game or simply winning games. Iโ€™ll say it again as I think you missed it, Iโ€™m not defending Weids output right now and agree he could be doing a lot more. But BB is not the answer after struggling in the twos, itโ€™s that simple.
  15. Your point is well taken. Naughton has played almost 20 more games than Weid in 2 less years though, so the statement that Weid is two years ahead of him doesnโ€™t tell the full story. Weideman hasnโ€™t had the benefit of continuity to develop his game like Aaron has, and I think thatโ€™s an important point to consider. Im not defending Weidโ€™s output by any means, I think he needs to start doing more now.
  16. Or he didnโ€™t and thatโ€™s why he got dropped in favour of weeds for the seniors team? Weโ€™re speculating of course. Youโ€™ve echoed my point really - we donโ€™t know what is being asked of each individual on any given day.
  17. Individual stats are meaningless when weโ€™re playing a role based team game. For all we know, weed did exactly what was asked of him by the coaches. im not saying weed couldnโ€™t be doing better right now, but the notion of dropping him for Brown who could hardly get a touch at Casey is insane to me.
  18. Thatโ€™s the problem with hardline journalists. Theyโ€™re great to watch unless they have their sights aimed at you. I donโ€™t have that much resentment for Caro. Always enjoyed her commentary, and always loved that she challenged the uninspired boys -club status quo. Itโ€™s nice to get a break from the endless parade of ex-players turned commentators to hear from people who are truly proficient in the trade of journalism. Sheโ€™s been doing it since the 70s. Sure she went after us pretty hard during the tanking days. But hey, we clearly did tank, so maybe she should have. Iโ€™d rather save my anger from those days to the Melbourne footy club administration, not a journo uncovering the rot for all to see. Itโ€™s all a distance memory today anyway.
  19. Ah right didnโ€™t know. Yeah rather we didnโ€™t take any risks with him, heโ€™ll be very important in September
  20. Iโ€™m not sure itโ€™s an option mate. Once a concussion happens thatโ€™s it medical sub is in
  21. Someone makes way for Viney, not sure who. Other than that no change
  22. I have a new found respect for dogs supporters to be honest. Some good comments in there
  23. The finals wins were statements for sure, but I never felt we were a shot of making the GF in 2018, let alone winning it. Beating the Tigers this year isn't such a big deal, plenty of teams have. They aren't even top 8 right now. This year is different, and this game is different. 1st vs 2nd, winner walks away as the team to beat in 2021. Will we continue to rise this year or slowly taper away? I feel like this game is going to tell us a lot
  24. Win, lose or draw if the boys arrive and play with the same intensity that got most of our wins this year I'll enjoy the show Carn Demons, the opportunity for the biggest statement we've made in decades awaits
