Ironically, without it being a the corporate business it is today, we'd have very little to talk about in the off season at all, and therefore nothing to complain about when we get corporate lip service from the club.
I see the point your making. My only point would be that all lists have at least a few players like that and its not necessarily a bad thing. As long as they play the outside role well who cares if they are the type to put their body on the line? I couldn't care less if the same person is lacing out Sammy on the lead inside 50 ...
A lot of classy outside players are soft. That's why they play on the outside right ...
We can hope for unicorns all we like (i.e. classy outside + hard inside), but back here on planet earth Phillips makes a lot sense for our other wing and I'd be all for it.
Agree it wouldn't be worth selling the farm for however.
I hear what your saying, but on the other hand we can't have a team of players that want to instantly get rid of the footy like a hot potato every time they touch it. Jack's bullocking certainly has its place.
I'd pump the brakes on that line of thought. A good season with the Bluey and a AA spot does not automatically mean he will be an effective captain. I haven't noted Trac showing any signs he'd be a good captain personally, but happy to be corrected by those who watch more closey than I do.
I love the bloke, but maybe someone who grabs team mates fingers and puts them up his own clacker is possibly lacking the maturity required of a captain.
You might be on to something here SWYL; psilocybin in microdoses is an effective treatment for PTSD. Watching us play might have got to him one too many times.
