CHANGES: Rd 16 vs GWS
Jones is depth only now for mine, don't care how well he plays in the two's We're winning games while our kids play, why on earth would we disrupt that to bring in Jones ...

CHANGES: Rd 16 vs GWS
Coming off a win and dropping someone for Nathan Jones? Did I wake up in the year 2016 this morning?

CHANGES: Rd 16 vs GWS
You could forgive someone for thinking we lost on the weekend after a having a look at a lot of the comments in this thread. Having said that, I reckon Ben Brown needs to come in for someone, not sure who though.

Scar tissue - long suffering MFC supporter issues
Why are the dogs suddenly a worry? We made them look like a VFL team only a few rounds ago

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs Essendon
Canโt see us dropping this

When do we get to see Majak?
Sam's copped his fair whack around here lately, but just because he's in terrible form doesn't make him an experimental player. We know exactly what he is capable of and how that fits into the team. Form is the issue, not Sam being an unknown quantity.

When do we get to see Majak?
Hopefully never. We got him as an insurance policy, not somebody that gets a game ahead of other forwards.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Do you mean that, because the posters in this thread are not fired up enough about Weid's down form, that the team is going to start sliding and that would tolerable? What?

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
It completely depends on how many followers they have. I know our guys share content for Telstra. Generally they are paid in proportion to their follower count per post. Itโs an entire industry these day. A google search on this will tell you all you need to know

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Haha it wasnโt directed at you mate. Iโm in the same boat roughly, 34 years old and didnโt have any social media till around age 18

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
I never said its impossible to live without it, I just said its often the primary means where younger generations communicate with each other. This entire response is based on a strawman argument. And to answer your question (which appears to be: do you understand the way I don't use social media?) - I don't really care because we aren't here to talk about you.

My Round 15 Preview and Prediction
I just checked the AFL website. We still have the 4 points from the Brisbane game believe it or not.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Generations who grew up as kids with social media have a far heavier reliance on it than older folk who lived a lot of their lives without it. Same way a bloke born in 1840 wouldn't have understood why electricity was so important to have.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
The internet literally connects everyone in the world together. During COVID times, lockdowns prevent in person socializing a lot of the time. Social media is quite often the only way to stay in touch with friends and family. The statement is not hyperbole by any means. Do you honestly not understand any of that?

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
I'm not sure taking an enormous pay cut to start a new career at age 24 is guaranteed to have the mental health benefits your suggesting. Your point is well taken though.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
You summed up your post in the last sentence perfectly

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
My point is that its a double edge sword as social media is the number 1 way people stay in touch now. So he may get away from negative commentary, but also distance himself from his social groups at the same time.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
This comment would resonate well with people born before 1970, but the reality is that social media is a very integrated part of life these days for many reasons. Simply "turning it off" has the capacity to make him feel even more isolated than he may already. Hardly a solution.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
I hope you're right mate. I am almost out of hope for him completely.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
I've been a huge Weid fan for a long time, but even I'm questioning why at this point. Agree the reaction to his performances are often over the top, but they certainly aren't without merit.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Probably because they aren't regular occurrences this year, however Weid's poor performances have been.

If Ben Brown doesnt play the rest of the year
I've spent years defending SW here on DL and to friends and family. I was convinced he had all the ability in the world and just needed a good run of games to get things clicking. My opinion on Sam has changed completely after watching him on the weekend. His intensity is nothing short of embarrassing for a 6"5 100kg forward. He cannot complete a mark to save his own life. He didn't even tackle. He does not provide a target i50 and defenders have started taking marks over him instead of punching. Trade or delist SW. Hope BB takes his chance now, otherwise our flag chances aren't looking that good.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Happy to admit I was wrong about SW. Pathetic effort. Drop immediately for BB regardless of Casey form. Hope Sam gets traded

TEAMS: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
This is the important part. In this scenario, suddenly our key forwards are all very old and toward the end of their careers. Doesn't bode well for our premiership window to last 5 years instead of 2
