  1. Are you taking the [censored]? ANB is one of the most fashionable guys running round for MFC
  2. Yup, I am as big a Viney fan as there is but can't argue with that statement. Jack is the strongest on field leader at the club but we need him to take over that mantle off the field as well.
  3. Congratulations to Hibbo, Jeffy and Nev. Well deserved.
  4. Some interesting points. 1. Yes they are everywhere including this forum, you get a player that plays with passion like a Bernie Vince and half the forum think he is some sort of common thug. There does seem to be a lot of tea totalling biscuit dippers following this club and the game is harder than you lot. 2. I have a feeling that that problem will resolve itself. Once Viney takes over the leadership his ability to lead by example will carry a lot of weight. At the moment we almost have an on field leader in Viney and an off-field leader in Jones (as per todays press conference), Viney needs to lead from both angles. 3. Agree on Tyson, he finds it a lot and we need to use that so another year in position please. Brayshaw on the other hand I would use for a big trade such as Lever, we have a lot like him and he is the worst ball user in the team yet still has currency.
  5. What are you doing still following Lyndon Dunns twitter account?
  6. Already talked about the disappointment yesterday but did actually watch the replay so now have a perspective both live and from Foxtel and have to say it looked almost identical. Leadership has been an issue and there was a point in the match where Maynard and a group of magpies went after Oliver over the boundary line, our leadership group all stood around all within 20 metres of it and hardly any of them moved except for Gawn. Yes to Viney as sole captain and surround him with a couple of vice captains who believe in the club, I would go with Gawn and Petracca. In terms of bad disposal yes we have a lot of ball butchers running around the paddock, the biggest of all on the weekend though hasn't even been mentioned. At one stage he took a free kick and managed to miss Lewis by a good 10 metres and other times he bombed in straight to the opposition, he couldn't hit the side of a barn and that was Gus. Others are playing in patches which is impossible to understand but needs closer inspection, take Hannon, clutch goals V St Kilda that turned the game and unbelievable at times in the last quarter yesterday but this is a four quarter game, it is inexcusable that a guy of his talent is going missing for so long in matches, he is a keeper but needs a kick up the arse. Tmac had a shocker but let's not disregard all of his good matches this year, he has been generally good.
  7. 6. Petracca - fewer possessions than others but more impact 5. Bernie - hardest worker all day 4. Hunt - almost created enough interest for us to start playing 3. Hibbo - hibbo V opposition attack. Defence a mess again and he is the cleaner 2. Garlett - solid game 1. Lewis - clean
  8. Just a horrible performance all round against ordinary opposition. We will still likely play finals but a lot of the team has put the cue back in the rack.
  9. I think O'Brien may be there best young tall but Sicily does have talent, actually the Hawks have a lot of serious young talent with those guys Burton, Howe etc their recruiting is very good.
  10. I am perfectly happy for Eddie & co offer their coach a ten year extension, he is doing a mighty job.
  11. Good player but from what I am hearing the peptiders are in poll position on this one. With Jobe, Stanton and a few others finishing up they have a lot to play with.
  12. Stretch and Garlett both had ordinary games but this stuff is completely over the top. Don't forget about all the great games Garlett has had this year either, people have short memories.
  13. More anti Bernie nonsense. One incident was eyes on the ball and some chap sticks his head in the way. The other incident was when some prawn ran head first into him. FFS this is all getting silly.
  14. 6. Hogan 5. Petracca 4. Pederson 3. Lewis 2. Tyson 1. Hibbo
  15. Bin man, I didn't reaiise that being relatively new to the site and starting a thread that you consider controversial was a crime. Having a guy stand up publicly and critisise a member of our club or use some other angle like smarten up is [censored] regardless of what you say, I say or anybody else says he can talk to that player in his own time any day if the week. It is just grandstanding and not what any strong club is built on,
  16. Well Teamplayed we like every other club are a team. Nat needs to buckle down and understand that Bernie has been much closer to the pinnacle than he and knows what it takes. Think of the greatest teams teams the game has seen, Hawks in the 80's hmmm Brereton, Dippa etc, Hawks recently Hodge and co, Lions a decade ago , these teams are not made of the type of player who is going to sit and hope - they are the Bernie Vince and Jack Vineys of the world and Nat now has the chance to play serious finals for the first time in his career but he needs to learn from the likes of Bernie rather than chastise him.
  17. Well Teamplayedfine69 that is extraordinarily insightful but do you have any thoughts on why a team leader would throw a team member under the bus?
  18. Jones is one of my absolute fav players at this great club. He has been through as many bad times as anybody on the list and I still love watching him play and the way he goes about it which is exactly why I found his comments today on Bernie Vince so disappointing. Nathan you are a very good and valued leader of the club but when you take the stage like a pissant and publicly attack a member of your own group you become a bureaucrat rather than a leader. A real leader would go to Bernie and take that up with him alone if you really believe the rubbish you presented today. MFC were down and out on the weekend and it was Bernie who flew the flag, not you or many of your teammates. Show some respect for people that play with the passion for the jumper, the jumper that we the members support and you have fought so hard for throughout your career.
  19. Being part of a group means that you stick together through the good and bad times and everybody knows it's harder when things are tough. Jesse Hogan has had the worst year of his life, from a serious health scare to losing somebody very close. Get off this kids back, let him get his confidence back and he will repay us in spades.
  20. Typical politically correct nonsense from Big Gil and co. Bring back Hird because .. well just because. Let's ignore the fact that WADA concluded that he was involved in the biggest attempt to cheat the system in living memory and managed to bring the game into disrepute more than anybody that's ever been involved with this sport. Gil no doubt thought this one up with some other rocket scientists who have managed to highjack the game.
  21. Honestly the AFL is completely stuffed. They change the parameters on these rules by the week, sack guys for screwing consenting adult women and just generally make [censored] up as they go along. The fish rots at the head and that won't improve until the goon running the place is gone. The only reason I turn up every week is to support this club and this year more than ever I have been proud about the way they walk out and contest every match. Bernie is a part of that, he won't get off all offences like a Franklin or Martin and he won't get personal recommendations from television hosts that nobody actually watches or politicians that don't even know who their voter base is but Bernie has guts and delivers week in week out so stuff you Gil, stuff you Waleed, stuff you Mal and bring back Bernie.
  22. It was certainly minor compared to Franklins bump a few weeks ago and he got off so Bernie should be fine.
  23. 6. Hunt - worked his but off for four quarters 5. Vince - one of our few winners on the ground and came in with the right intensity 4. Lewis - Composed thoughout 3. Wagner - Good through out 2. Hibberd - Had to cover for others but worked hard 1. ANB - Had spark and touch was generally good
  24. Frustrating match. Defence looked completely disorganised which was due to the poor matches from Frost and Jettta, they were nowhere near close enough to their direct opponent and it had our defence running all over the place trying to pick them up when they went forward. Our tackling pressure looks way down too, we monstered the Crows in their backyard a few weeks ago yet looked like prey tonight, disappointing all round.
  25. Sounds fine to me - do it to them before they do it to you. This new feeling of negative attention we are getting has a name and it is called Relevance.
