  1. No, just that there are too many. I go to the football to watch football not to be educated on some different social issue every week. The point re the polling is that the trend is showing that this will be a 50/50 thing when all is said and done come November given current trends so no the AFL may actually end up in the minority.
  2. Great point, he just doesn't carry injury well. Ball magnet but need him up and running.
  3. The AFL seems to becoming more like the self proclaimed morality police by the day. From sacking senior adult employees shagging consenting adults to signing on to this debate it just gets worse by the day. Outside of the fact that there seems to be a dedicated round to something every other week there are some positive events, anybody that disagrees with celebrating Anzac Day is either a foreigner or completely ignorant in regards to Australian History, I get the arguments against indigenous round - minority group and all but the Aboriginal people are not some blow in minority group they are a part of Australian history and AFL history so happy with that and of course BCNA is a fabulous event highlighting something that affects us all. Why would the AFL choose this fight though? All of the events above have a huge amount of public support but polling on this issue shows it was 73% in favour a year ago, 63% three months ago and just 55% last week, by mid November when the dust settles on trend it will be a 50/50 thing and could even go down so I find it bizarre that the AFL would put its name to something which will alienate as many people as it pleases. There was no chance they were ever go to side with the No campaign, that would lead to protests at AFL house every day from today to November but they actually didn't need to get involved, to stay neutral and out of the discussion would have upset only the most extreme, instead they have managed to divide the football world.
  4. Not sure what the issue is here, when Adelaide V Richmond the away team always wears the clash strip so with Adelaide being on top that would be the tigers if they were to play off.
  5. Bugg hardly touched the bloke, Mills fell over like a piece of tin foil.
  6. Good return V St Kilda but was below par after that and poor in round 23 when we needed people to stand up. We have a lot of inside mid types and need to boost other areas on the ground and when they go over each inside mid option particularly skill by foot he is certainly not going to be in the first few so creates a potential trade option if required.
  7. Started well but the injury was a bad one, not all hamstring injuries are equal and his was shot. Could be a big factor next year.
  8. Yup, seems to be a new AFL social event every round when most of us turn up to sink a few beers and watch elite athletes compete for our club with no interest in all this social engineering.
  9. Nope, all players are effectively businesses that contract their services to a club so the players certainly don't work for the AFL.
  10. Pathetic crowd for a final but it is what it is, if the Giants had more support they would get more into the ground. Good to see the home side getting a home side advantage, Geelong fans were rightly [censored] off V Richmond last week playing them on the Tigers home ground in front of 80,000 feral Tiger fans - it was hardly reward for effort over the season.
  11. Club leader who sets the benchmark for effort required by his own example. Lets make sure he is absolutely spot on/injury free before he gets back out there.
  12. Shame we can't offer him up in a trade, I'm sure every club would be rushing out to grab him.
  13. Young guy coming off the worst year off his life. Looks a chance every time the ball comes in and look out for him next year if everything comes together he could be a game changer.
  14. Good year all round, forget the Carlton thing that happens when you get competitive guys in a contact sport. Another two years from memory on his contract and looks like he has lost nothing.
  15. One of the most difficult to assess. He is good/smart in the air, incredible with ball in hand but... when they have it his work ethic and effort at ground level generally feels under par. I reckon he would have kicked 70 goals a year over the last few seasons playing for say Hawthorn with the ball coming in a lot and with quality but not many teams have that, will be the coaches call based on the structure, game style etc and who he sees fitting into it but tough call from where we sit.
  16. No real surprises although I agree with others we will never know how good Jack could have been.
  17. Yup. He is the type who will be able to stand in a tackle clear the hands and always get the ball out to advantage like one G Ablett.
  18. Young player with good skills but it hasn't really worked for him at Melbourne. Could do with a new start somewhere else, has currency and would have no problem finding a new club.
  19. Lol good call and a decent player too make that Brayshaw.
  20. They are a fickle bunch, if we happen to win they will crawl back under their rock and go back to requesting somebody else like I don't know maybe the tigers again if they are looking a little weaker. Sure take it after all it's better than playing in the [censored] like Darwin, god damn Blundstone etc but just know that as we improve they will go looking for an easier beat next time around when we smash them.
  21. I missed that. How much did the breach of contract cost the [censored]?
  22. Good young defender, I would be looking to trade Bradshaw to get this deal done.
  23. Lumumba still on the list? Ffs you got to be kidding me, delist asap. How the [censored] did that happen?
  24. Well I don't know given that their part of a team and all it might have been a nice touch. Fully understand though that some had more important [censored] on so couldn't make it.
