  1. Dunn was a good player for the club and should have been retained. Scully leaving was a dog act
  2. Maybe Clarry should gut punch his opponent before the first bounce next week.. oh wait he will get suspended. Seeing Franklin get off over and over again is getting old too
  3. Yes lol extremely but the Eagles are not mugs
  4. Good to finally see a mature debate on this topic. Our inside mids are playing well competing for clearances and initiating inside 50’s but the outside group is still an issue. Tyson has not come one and arguably gone backwards, Brayshaw cannot kick, is lazy, slow and a witches hat defensively- they either run through him or step around him, ANB is a great athlete but also lacks polish with delivery. The best at kicking to advantage inside 50 right now is Gawn, Harmes, Viney and Melksham. Fritsch has real talent and is worth a try, Hannan has been raised as an option too, he’s out of form up forward and seems to be flying rather than crumbing - the opposite of Hogan in recent times, Hannan has pace, a good tank and can deliver so also worth thinking about.
  5. Disappointing match, it was obvious he Saints had targeted Viney and Oliver today and were gang tackling both even smashing into them when the ball was nowhere in sight, Viney eventually broke loose and almost will us over the line. Defence is a real issue since lever went down, he was masking over a lot of the weaknesses. Omac, Salem and Petty were all poor, Nev had a day where he just couldn't get into the game, Hibbo bust his gut all day. Disposal is still a problem as well, only a handful of players like Harmes, Gawn, Melksham and Viney look like hitting a target in the forward 50, Jones struggled with it and Brayshaw would have to be the worst kick of a football I have seen in the red and blue watching the game for decades. On the positives, Gawn, Harmes and Fritsch and very good, Fritsch is an outstanding talent, Weidemann who I am generally neutral on showed glimpses of talent at this level today for the first time, not ready yet but has some potential.
  6. 6. Gawn 5. Harmes 4. Fritsch 3. Viney 2. Hibberd 1. Oliver
  7. Hibberd - One man defence Brayshaw - Abysmal by foot
  8. Great news on Vanders, gonads the size of footballs that boy.
  9. In the normal run of events I would agree but the Tom Lynch factor comes into this. From all reports their cap is running tight, Pendlebury and Sidebottom would be eating up a bit and they had to shell out the dollars to lure Adams and Treloar to the club. Can they find all that money even at 800k for De Goey and still find the cash for Lynch whom they have been openly chasing?
  10. Yes the Saints refreshed and Denons coming off a close game will make is closer, really bringing what what might have been a 15 goal Demon win down to 10. Interesting team selection hopefully T-Mac gets up, Brayshaw picked again when he is the turnover king week after week is getting old, Frisch and Harmes have been in our best 10 players this year so will obviously both play, Spargo looks to have upside then Tyson or Bernie for the final spot.
  11. Yup, his first 9 weeks were outstanding. Jesse can turn this around instantly, he just needs to compete in the air and crash packs. Every time the ball comes in he scares the hell out of the defence as he always looks a chance to come down with it.
  12. The Kangas have put up a mil a year over 5 years so would have to be a chance to get him now.
  13. We are the sixth best team in the comp, dropping the match to a lesser team last night doesn’t help. of those matches we will lose to Geelong and Sydney and beat the other three.
  14. Petracca will be the best player at the club in time but always seem to be physically struggling right now.
  15. Fair call, Wingard and Brayshaw are both soft types but they did pay one and not the other. Melksham is a tough guy but got no help from the umps at all, Bernie played quite well and yeah they nab him for anything.
  16. 6. Viney 5. Jetta 4. Melksham 3. Harmes 2. Frisch 1. Hannan
  17. Should really have been 10-12 goals up at half time but didn’t execute and let it slip away. Viney and Jetta , fantastic in their roles, Bradshaw costly yet again with seven turnovers and giving away goals, the jump up and down landing on Grays head was simply ridiculous. Lots of positives but we still need to refine this side heading into the pointy end of the season.
  18. About bloody time, completely useless and a big fu to all members looking to support the club in our home games.
  19. Vanders has gonads the size of a football and Does the hard stuff, seriously the Brownlow goes is your idea of quality? Mathews, Carey and Ablett snr how how many of these medals between them?
  20. Slowest team through the guts in the comp is the Tigers and they are 16 straight at the G, fastest is GWS and they don’t win there, don’t think that is it Bob
  21. It’s not the MCG its more about personnel. The four sides that have beaten us there are currently better more physical sides, throw in Sydney who will also beat is up and you have a list of the five sides that are currently better than us. We have an easy month coming up, we will beat Port away this week then play St Kilda, Freo and the Dogs and will win all four likely sending our percentage off the charts which will be more than handy, that string of matches however will mask over the issues we have which will be on display against the Cats the following week. The Cats look to have gelled and improved more since round one and will be a tough test. Bottom line is though if we want to beat the more physically imposing clubs we need to weed out the bruise free types now before we play these teams in finals.
  22. Ahh yes, ignoring is one way to win an argument.. oh wait!
  23. No idea what to make of this yet. Getting different opinions from different types but it was a surprise.
