  1. Nah, have to be a comment re: Membership - so I guess we go also back to the 60's when the members transferred to Hawthorn...
  2. Hey @grey wolf, I'm not a fan of Zac, what do you think he can bring to the side
  3. nicely done @demonstone nicely done.
  4. Apologies @Redleg if that came across as curt. It's a funny one - sometimes I can't believe how much I care about random dudes that I have never met running around in particular colours from 2017-2018 when we were winning things, after that apathy of the previous 10-12 years (aside from a bit of fun with D.Bailey) - and then to come back to apathy is well... quite sad.
  5. But not NOT caring enough to write posts about it?
  6. Whats the problem if he has an opinion, or Caroline Wilson, or Kane Cornes, or some dude/dudette on Demonland? In all seriousness - it's all just fugazi and irrelevant to decisions made internally....
  7. I hear (see??) what you are saying with ref to the playing list explicitly - and I think @Lucifer's Hero that you could apply the same analysis on ALL other clubs playing list and not get disimilar results at the coaches 3/4 year mark. I feel it's a little disingenuous to present this data and say it's only applicable to the MFC. postscript - i have zero evidence of this, it is just the 'vibe'.
  8. I disagree strongly with the need for an old school cranky coach (not older coach though). This generation doesn't deal with that style, and will either disengage from the process, or be too scared to play with freedom. It's not tenable nowadays. I have no idea who would be a good fit, but I know for certain due to what I get exposed to work wise, that old school coaches that deliver information either via a 'rocket' or wants to get players to 'harden up' and just get on with the process - won't work in the 2020 club environment.
  9. Mmm, I get your point - I assume the AFL will see these things as mutually exclusive and not be punitive to the Suns for one individuals decision making.
  10. Soz @DemonOX, I like to add a little drama to posts. Anyway - I presume Goodwin may not like the cut of Richardson's jib...thus - there would presumably be a range of options OTHER than Richardson, who would fit well into the club.
  11. Is Richardson the messiah? Is he the only option?
  12. Tried to Pm you (why don't some folk have Pm's - too much fanmail??) - greatly appreciate the effort you put in and then detail it in a measured way back to those that wouldn't know where to begin looking (or have the inclination). Champion effort. Same for @fr_ap
  13. There is a lot of discomfort in saying it - but I agree, with the sentiment of Viney's limit has been reached. The centre line unit functions better without him in it - and I don't see a certain place for him elsewhere on the park if he isn't part of the centre team.
  14. I rate him...immensely - can't quite crack a permanent position at the Cats. I think he'd complement our need for outside mid/half forward very nicely.
  15. Ahhh the ol slash and burn method...hilarious! So what you're saying is - the fact that they say that they are addressing issues, it isnt enough, clear the decks, start from scratch, that's the only way forward? Deliberate forensic analysis is what is required... only those on the inside know what the problems are and externally, have the skills to do it effectively.
  16. @Dee-licious - sterling work! I looked to message you but couldnt - would love a link to your spreadsheet. well done and thanks very much.
  17. Perhaps this club already knows what it is - deals with things privately, and allows things to run it's course....
  18. Sounds like you came up with the initial concept of 'brand' @praha, or at least, hold on to it quite dearly. I know last year a new position was opened up at another club whereby said person in this position wrote team values/brand in the training area (actually got a graphic artist) - was outwardly and inwardly mocked by players... the team was knocked out in the finals last year and are finals bound this year (if not the favourite). Team branding/values are redundant... the team (anyteam) is already branded merely by wearing certain colours, and playing within the afl industry. Whether brands are worthy or not only work within a post hoc analysis sense if you(r) team is winning, otherwise all branding's/language around what we/the team stand for, doesn't stack up. Goodwin has repetedly said in his tenure that his way is about building from the contest out... typically we smash the contest and deliver into the 50 enough... this is the part that the entire club is working on now - not the contest anymore, the delivery, the two way running etc etc. The rationale behind this philosophy of course is because it is the way finals are played, people tighten up, people dont want to [censored] up , dont want to make errors, skills get worse etc... That's fair enough isn't it, to allow time for the building to continue?? Because that is what he and the other employee's will do. Personally, I am backing Goodwin and his philosophy - it's stage 2.5 of about 5.
  19. most appropriate font size I have seen in a while.
  20. How on earth have you come to that conclusion???
  21. It is isn't it - it's as though people think Goodwin speaks in tongues or something??
  22. "I actually haven't watched it again" reads quite differently to "I actually haven't really watched it again" I'd suggest.
