  1. When we wake up tomorrow morning without the emotion, with all the personnel out, that is realistically the best we could of hoped for. They had a dip, but were let down by poor execution. Although it was very frustrating that nearly every single goal we kicked, they replied within, at most, a minute.
  2. I thought people calling for him to be dropped were being a bit harsh in previous weeks. Cops a hard tag week in week out which is tougher than others give credit for. Obviously needs to find a way to work into the game more, and needs some more help from team mates, and his coach who needs to find ways to help inject him into games e.g. send forward etc. And if nothing else it frees up our other midfielders a little more. But yesterday was inexcusable. His 'effort' in that marking contest was deplorable, but I was willing to give him a chance to make amends. But was does our vice captain do? He sulks around with his shoulders slumped and his head down, no chat or encouragement for his younger teammates, and complaining of a mysterious knee injury (which as Darcy pointed out was fine enough for him to twist and kick from a pack early in the last). The body language was the worst part of it for me, especially at the start of the 4th quarter when we were a good chance of victory. If others pay the price for not doing team things and meeting team standards, such as Morton being dropped and Moloney losing the VC for having a night on the [censored], then surely there must be ramifications for this performance.
  3. Each to their own, but surely Sylvia gets a vote, 26 disposals and 4 goals Mine would be 6. Moloney - immense, and a ridiculous number of clearances 5. Sylvia - 4 goals and 26 disposals, just what he is capable of 4. Trengove - going under the radar a bit this year and has been very good lately 3. Petterd - how he has not been in the last few weeks is beyond me, the perfect candidate to play the defensive forward role, Johncock didnt know what hit him 2. Jones - is having a good year and played to his strengths today, definitely has a role when he does this 1. Maric - worked hard and got a lot of it, just a little more polish in the forward 50 to give him a couple of goals and he would of been higher Honourable mentions to: Frawley: hopefully a sign that he is getting back to last years form Bail: he is the prototype run with player in modern footy, loving what he does at the moment Davey: thought he worked well and his use of ball was excellent today Almost everyone else out there: 4 qtr performance, and besides Bate, could make a case for everyone else out there, lets hope to see some consistency over the next few weeks
  4. Usually I try and avoid emotional calls on the day/night of games, but I've had enough. Where do I sign?
  5. A thread of this ilk needed to be 'stickied' years ago. So slow and static, and have been deplorable for years now.
  6. Makes 1 or 2 absolute blunders a week as most others do. All other turnovers from Grimes kicks are because he is often responsible for trying to work it out of our defence through a packed zone with little or no movement from those in front of him. And as someone mentioned earlier, we are painfully slow to take our kick ins, almost to the point where it seems deliberate, and even then after taking 30 seconds and letting the opposition set up their zone there is no movement and no options. Even Davey turned it over with the almost impossible task of trying to work it out of there a couple of times.
  7. Just like 99% of other commentators is positive when we are up and about, and negative when we are getting spanked. A lot of Melbourne supporters seem to have this theory that numerous media types are out to get us, which most of the time is completely ridiculous.
  8. Thanks for the updates! Keep em coming if possible. Really appreciated.
  9. Was interested until I realised I would have to actually listen to Terry Wallace speak. To painful, so Ill just be lazy and wait for a write up.
  10. Thats a really good read, thanks or posting and I recommend anyone who hasn't read it does so at some stage
  11. If you team it up with the other merchandise that Brad Green is fronting at the moment then you might have a point, but even then I don't think it suggests anything.
  12. I think Rivers talks back and gets involved in the trash talk a bit too much. Gave away a couple of goals last year by talking back to umpires.
  13. I agree Nasher, he has had plenty of time to rub this part of his game out but hasn't. Numerous times I have sworn his name when this happens. A very good player and probably a very good leader, but I can't see him as captain of the MFC and mainly for this reason.
  14. I may be wrong on this, but I am pretty certain Father/Son Selections are decided before trade week..probably to avoid teams doing this sort of thing.
  15. I think your missing people's point Rhino. Its not that he was delisted because I think most realise he is a very average footballer and was most likely to go. But to leave it this late when the ND has been completed and clubs would have their options pretty much set for the PSD, they haven't given the best opportunity to continue his career. As I said earlier though, doesn't really matter as he wouldn't have been picked up regardless, but he should have at least been given a better opportunity to attract interest from other clubs.
  16. For starters, we don't have a psd pick and even as a rookie I am not keen. But how is west coast's form delisting him this late making it almost impossible for him to find a club, and just as a final kick in the nuts they announce that his body was the reason. In the end though, probably wouldn't have made much difference, an average footballers who had a better career than most, and a premiership to go with it.
  17. Had a very good champs including a 47 disposal game. I have a feeling (based on nothing) that we aren't even seriously looking at Darling and Jacobs will be our selection at 12 and we will hope to get a tall with our second pick.
  18. How Brent Moloney didnt get votes in that game was a joke. Along with Jamar, carried us back into that game.
  19. The things we do to watch a game of footy. I am just about breaking into an epileptic fit with the pixelation.
  20. But he played most of this year without Riewoldt and was pretty useless. Not as bad as some are making out, but definitely an ordinary footballer.
  21. I agree...said the same thing to my mate who is an ump. The game was well umpired (obviously always a couple of dodgey ones), but for the life of me I just cant understand why they dont umpire like that all year.
  22. Was a good night out up here in Brissy. No Pies fans in sight. Ran into Brad Miller in the Valley and he was more than happy to have a drink and a chat for a while. Was a top bloke as most on here already know. Sounded pretty confident he will play for GC.
  23. Well done to Shane. Interestingly, David Swallow of the Gold Coast finished 4th at the age of 17 or 18.
  24. This happens all the time. I don't mind that they show Brisbane games as we are in Brisbane, but it means the Brisbane game is on fox and 7 at the same time and we get shafted all together. For other time slots, like Friday and Saturday night they will air the non-televised game on the Main Event channel, but for some reason they don't do it for Sunday games. We should be able to watch each game somewhere, whether it be free to air, fox sports, or main event. So I will be avoiding the Internet, any news, text messages etc, until the replay on fox sports at 7.
  25. Anyone able to comment on how Karmichael Hunt went?
