  1. When it comes down to it the Saints fixture is much more difficult than ours, they could improve and still miss out.
  2. I don't believe so, they have been playing their cards pretty close to their chest when it comes to selection... I suppose we only have a few hours left to find out if he will be in or not.
  3. He has been here for 3 years. Edit: Just realised you said injury unaffected I agree on principle. I dont think he plays like him but he gets rated like Priddis. Tyson consistantly does enough, but rarely blows anyone away. I dont think he will ever be our best mid either but he is a good player. He has also shown the ability to kick goals which not many of our mids do.
  4. Lets face it, we can't live without these. It makes Melbourne fun!
  5. They claim both apple and google casting formats work when you are international. However, given you're not indicating international you may run into issues attempting to cast depending on the way you're pretending to be international.
  6. as an international viewer that is probably your best bet.. It is for the local viewers who like to pretend they are international.
  7. I cant agree with that. Gawn's marks in the forwardline almost always come from him floating forward either alone or with a ruckman (or sometimes an unlucky midfielder) following him. If you play him as a forward he will be up against real key defenders who while maybe giving up some size will be much better at nullifying him and kill him on the rebound.
  8. Imagine telling the players spencer is going to be wasting one their rotations for the chance that max will get beaten. Time to move beyond the assumption that players are getting beaten, if they are picked we are backing them in to play well each week. Max included. Fact of the matter is Max is our biggest asset given the new 3rd man up restrictions. Why on earth would we take him out of the middle for any more than a few minutes to rest? Sure he might be protected a little from injury but at what cost? a slow top heavy forwardline with 2 big blokes roatating though who cant play as forwards. If we had a severe lack of tall forward options then sure play them. But now we are picking between natural tall forwards and an unathletic ruckman. Spencil for all his hard work and efforts should not be in this conversation. I for 1 think spencer could be our most valuable 23rd man, but unfortunatly for him he is nothing more than a backup.
  9. I still have my eyes on the Giants, even if they are a few steps ahead of us. They took all the best young players when we needed them most. I'd love to reach our peak and start to push their AFL gifted talent vs our hard earned talent. But right now it will have to be the saints, they are the comparison so the rivalry is kinda being forced upon us.
  10. Damn I thought for a second we could have won a nobel prize!
  11. Not unique to these 2 names but that logic seems to be spreading around here. I've seen it at least 4 or 5 times in the last week
  12. Spot on, I'm more surprised anyone here actually thinks Hogan is in the top 10. He has played 2 promosing years but lets see him crack the 50 goal mark before we even consider putting him along side these guys.
  13. When it comes down eventually we are going to have to get cocky and the same with the Saints. We cant be the carfull tiptoeing around their thoughts type of side forever. Is it too early? maybe i dont know. But Lewis' influence is probably adding to it. He has been cocky for years, for good reason. What I hope he brings is that arrogance coupled with the drive to prove it right. Arrogance is a gamble if we do well this year then it pays off in spades as "confidence" if we dont then the pressure will be heaped on the "big headed" kids. We will get some reality checks along the way but might be time to take the risk.
  14. Look at the bright side, we havent gone about convincing people it was dog related
  15. I think it says alot about how Goody wants the culture to be, no hiding things in private, everyone has a right to know what is going on. But also doing it while playing golf means they have quite some time to chat about it rather than Jones being told in an office and then walking out bitter. I like it, I dont agree with the decision but i like the approach.
  16. A Brisbane fan has informed me they just recieved an email. Apparently theres also doubts the Gabba will be ready in round 2 for the lions first home game. If thats the case what hope does etihad have??
  17. In their defence the bridge to the station is not built to handle the 77,300 people that were at that show thats like 25,000 over the normal stadium capacity.
  18. I have more time to waste than most
  19. Ok so here is a slightly outside the box idea that probably wont happen. Assuming the FD has decided that Jetta is not a part of their defencive plan A this year (which is not confirmed untill he actually isnt picked in round 1 but the signs arnt good for him). If they decide that one of Kent or Garlett is too underdone to come in, could Jetts play as a defencive forward? Even if it is just a once off. We know that the saints have repeatedly slaughted us on the rebound, his combative pressure in the front half could make a big difference.
  20. Not to be too much of a smart arse but lava is deceptivly fast. Depending on the Volcano it can be up to 60kph. If Trenners is clocking those speeds then it might be time to bring him in.
  21. Surely we learnt from rushing Brayshaw back. Wagner has only played half a practice game... Im sure he will slot back into the team at some point soonish but I hope they dont rush him back supremely underdone for round 1
  22. I feel like parking and trains are the only thing ok about Etihad... there are about 6 different parking structures walking distance from the ground and southern cross is setup better than the stations near G. The rest your spot on. I feel souless is the best description. You just dont get that same feeling as you do walking into the MCG That said come hell or highwater I'm going on Saturday! And every other game we play at Etihad.
  23. Official no Hibbard http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-03-17/hibberd-to-miss-round-one Meanwhile, Mahoney confirmed Melbourne had gained approval from the AFL to play 17 players in a VFL practice match this weekend.
  24. Im impressed you managed to turn it onto that channel at all, I couldn't bring myself to turn on the TV
  25. Play it whenever they want, i just want to see us back in one. Lets face it they could start the grand final at 8am we would still watch it.
