When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Last year we were 9th after beating the giants and never got higher. The year before we were in the 8 after beating the Suns but fell straight out.

Biggest rivalry?
I still have my eyes on the Giants, even if they are a few steps ahead of us. They took all the best young players when we needed them most. I'd love to reach our peak and start to push their AFL gifted talent vs our hard earned talent. But right now it will have to be the saints, they are the comparison so the rivalry is kinda being forced upon us.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
Bomber Thompson: "We need to find out what actually happened not just believe whats in the report" Paul Little: "Theres no time for that" [censored] with a chairman with an attitude like that i have no idea why they had any issues.

Josh Kelly
Tyson is underrated by many around here. Kelly has some qualities we need and Bontempelli is a freak but Tyson is still among the best we have and still has improvement left in him. I expect if he gets himself right after this knee issue he will be way up near the top of the B&F again.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
2 days ago I would have agreed with you but I think now the Hibbard and Lewis deals are in, unless we can get an overwhelimgly good deal we should secure all our picks next year leaving us in a strong position to draft or trade next year with a full list of 2017 and 18 draft picks

If we keep pick 29 I'd like to see us use it on a kid with a massive tank who can play on a wing (we still only have stretch). I'd suffer the ruck/fwd deficency for 2017 and then look to trade one in next year as we aim for the 2018 top 4. If we pick a kid fwd/ruck he might take 3-5 years to be AFL ready

Possibly, it might help but who? Tis is the order as it sits around us. 27. Richmond 28. Collingwood 29. Melbourne 30. Port Adelaide 31. GWS Richmond, Collingwood and Port all have no intention of drading away from this years draft if anything they want to trade up the draft and the new pick count rules messes with our chances to trade with the Giants for points

Oh its very clearly a fair deal as an isolated player for pick. But as a whole our trade period would look much better with Hibberd, Lewis, 29 and 57 than with Hibberd, Lewis and 57. But when push comes to shove an established player is better than a 29 lottery ticket. With over 24 hours left I would say we still have time to negotiate

They struggled to play finals before they were all suspended. And while some will get right back into it easily but some will probably take some time to get back to AFL level. I would think they have a chance in 2018 but not 2017

Im not even sure this is possible but would we be able to offer a future 2nd round and a future 4th round? gives them 2 picks (because we should improve and 1 isnt enough) still allows us to keep this years pick. follow up would people even want to do that?

Seems most likely to me, there is no easy route when it comes to Essendon.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
By far my favourite. I mentioned it last week. 1964, 1998 then 2016. Not territory we frequent often.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
1998 the last time we went through an entire season without losing 3 games in a row at any point. The time before that? 1964.

Billy Stretch Appreciation Thread
Not really, he is in just about every week now, 1 rest about a month ago but he is still young. I highly doubt that they are under-appreciating him. I love how penetrating his kick is, as he develops his meters gained will continue to go up. The fact he can run 30-40m then kick it 50-60m and hit a man in the goal square can never be understated.

Norm Smith to Simon Goodwin
Sounds just like the "Six degrees of separation" theory. Regardless I hope we get a flag or 5 in in the Goodwin era.

Billy Stretch Appreciation Thread
If we get regluar 22 players out of 2 our of 3 I would be ecstatic. Billy and Jack look like the ones, if we develop Smith into a player it would be just a bonus.

Billy Stretch Appreciation Thread
Thats what I love, he is an outside player, but when its his turn to go hard he goes and not all outside players will do that. He is young and a little inconsistant but he has locked into our 22 and i dont expect to see him come out any time soon.

Josh Jenkins
I agree he is not worth that much and I'm pretty sure is just a desperate brissy offering that. I think you will find he and Watts are very similar, endless gut running that results in easy goals. Only difference is with a class midfield Jenkins gets rewarded more frequently with Joe the goose goals and Watts stands all alone in the goal square glowing red from all the times he is burnt by his teammates. We have bigger priorities but Jenkins would be a good pickup. Rather him than Dawes or Pedo

Josh Jenkins
If he came to us and kicked 2-4 goals a game he can pick all the cherrys he wants! Thats his job.

Jay Kennedy-Harris
Possible, but nev works well back there because he is so strong, JKH is light and quick which im not sure is as good for a defender put him against any of the established small forwards betts, rioli and the like he will just get outbodied. We already have hunt playing the speedy rebounder role. I think JKH has more potential on a wing, a position that is still got hot competition: Stretch, Trengrove, Grimes are probably the front runners at the minute all of which he has the talent to surpass . Ik we have others like Harmes, Benken, Garlett and various midfielders rotating onto wings at different times but the first 3 play more permanant wing roles. I think Trenners is too slow for that position, he needs to be inside. Grimes' writing is on the wall in big bold letters. Finally Stretch is young and I think he's a gun but no reason why JKH cant give him a run for his money or work alongside him on the opposite wing. Give him an injury free pre-season and then talk trade/positional changes if he cant break in after that

The youngest most inexperienced side
I have a feeling a few on here are going to start loving Carey's work because as far as the media goes I think he is one of the most optimistic about Melbourne's future. Partly I think because he is has a little bias toward a particular KPF
