  1. Out: Macdonald In: McDonald?
  2. Fitzpatrick is a 200cm Ruck/Forward with two years on the list both heavily injury affected. Just a couple of weeks ago he kicked 7 in the Casey reserves and last year Chris Connolly described him as a '200 game player'. He is on of the players on our list that excites me the most! I would be astounded if we were to delist someone with such tremendous upside so early into his career.
  3. My first choice would be Bail. My 2nd choice would be Jordie. Returning from a significant lay off, does he have the legs to go with a player of Judd's calibre at the moment. My 3rd choice and the one i think they will go with is Jones - Has been in really good form and although i remain uncertain about his ability as a run with player he would love the challenge and with Bail out and Jordie maybe not quite ready he is the best we have got.
  4. Something needs to be done to help break Davey's tag. He is just not dealing with it all at the moment, he is to important to the team for us to just yell frustrated that 'he should just be able to deal with a tag'. Clearly he is not, perhaps he just isn't at the level capable of dealing with opposition attention. Dumping him to Casey is not the answer, this just hurts the team of a quality player at a time when we just don't have the luxury. I like the ideas of playing Davey at Full-Forward or giving him perhaps a defensive forward role on Yarran. Another idea would be to have Davey as the sub. When he did come on, he would hopefully be fresh enough to burn off any potential tag or otherwise Carlton's structures might be more focused on players who had started the game.
  5. The #freetrengove on twitter has been great. If only there was a company out there with a bit of spunk willing to print a couple of thousand cardboard signs with freetrengove on them to pass out to punters. You know, like the ones that might say 'great goal' with the companies logo attached.
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think James Strauss might have had some responsibility for kick ins in his first game last year. Fantastic game from Tappy, did not for a second look out of place.
  7. Unless Frawley is 100% fit i would be having no change. The sub will have to rotate from week to week to ensure no player loses match fitness. It was interesting to see the impact Ricky had when he came on. Introducing a fresh player at 3/4 time amoungst a group of seriously tired players allowed Ricky to really dominate. Next week i would consider making Jones the sub, providing we don't have any injuries we could sub Jones on late in the 3rd quarter and send him straight into the guts. Hopefully with others tiring Jones can win some clearances for us during the last quarter.
  8. Naive WYL, for many it is a crippiling addiction. Was Ox nothing but greedy and stupid?
  9. I love the 1 on the end Jaded! gave it some real authenticity! Fantastic orginal post! A very good comparison to make.
  10. Yeah at the time i wondered about the ramifications of that move. Fair enough really- we name 3 emergencies a late replacement should have to come from them.
  11. Right on the money Pringle. I too think Jetta is a midfielder (maybe it is his size and indigeneity people assume he is nothing more than an opportunistic forward). I think he was close to best on yesterday.
  12. Thanks guys, i could just sit in my hotel room and watch but i think it would be heaps better to get amoungst some Canberra demons so thanks again for the suggestions. Might even see you there....
  13. Just wondering if there were any Canberra demons out there that could help me out by suggesting a pub in our capital that i could watch the dees at on Saturday. I have some study to do in Canberra over the weekend but really don't wanna miss watching the boys.
  14. Rivers, Miller, Watts, Newton, Spencer, Johnson and Matin make a seriously good group of talls for VFL level!
  15. Some welcome returns for Aussie and Blease!
  16. I think it was a nickname given to him by Graeme Yeats when he was coaching Sandy. Apparently Jamar looks like a footballer that was nicknamed Russian and it just stuck.
  17. Bruce to Brennan for mine. Massive job for the boys down back. Warnock to Fev and Frawley to run with Brown. But it won't matter who is on them if our midfield does not continue to put the opposition under immense pressure as the move the ball forward. Big test.
  18. Give the award to NikNat already. But hopefully we get a few nominations, Trengove, Scully, Watts etc
  19. A mate of mine is stationed up in Darwin so i'm hoping to make the trip. Never seen the boys play interstate and have never been to Darwin so i'm really looking forward to it!
  20. A friend of mine has a bit of contact with Ricky, his parents live on the Gold Coast. I'm sure he has matured a bit but when injured a couple of years ago my friend was a little worried with his jocular comment that a positive of being injured was that he got to go home and live with his folks on the gold coast. No doubt Ricky was just joking around making the best of being injured, but i think there is still some go home factor with his parents in the Gold Coast. Here's hoping he stays, looks a very promising third tall forward.
  21. 40 would be a magnificent effort. It will get harder from now, will be the oppositions number one priority in our forward line.
  22. I can't believe people are saying that Ricky would not be a target for the GC. He is EXACTLY the type of player they will be seeking out. Do people think the GC are going to pull 16 champions? They might get one, but more likely they will be picking up good average players and highly rated younger players like Ricky. Ricky is only 21, he is young enough to really be hitting his straps when the plethora of draft picks at the Gold Coast are beginning to peak. The go-home factor and the fact the GC will be able to offer an above value pay packet keep me worried. I will be feel much better when we get ink from Ricky and Jamar who is also out of contract and would be another perfect target for the GC.
  23. I agree i like the idea of giving the job to Bruce. Some of his best footy has been playing a run-with role and his tremendous fitness and willingness to push forward can be used to a real advantage to hurt Hodge the other way.
