  1. Oh this one's embarassing. When Garry Ablett Jnr was very young I wasn't happy with all the hype surronding him for what I considered to be, at that stage, very minimal on field influence. I believe I even said something along the lines - He is only hyped before of who is father is - on football ability alone he is Geelong's equivalent of Steve Armstrong. In my defence this was at a time when I thought Steve Armstrong was a solid up and coming half forward, all I thought Gaz would become....
  2. If Jamar played in the Devlopment league and sat in the square I think he would be a chance to kick 2.9!
  3. Leigh Williams hurt himself last week at Casey. Looked like an ankle. I don't understand why he wasn't named on the injury list or mentioned in the weekly Dave Misson interview. Is that Kyle Matthews on the bench? If so that is fantastic, a wonderful player to watch.
  4. Hmm, with no Frawley you would think Sellar would have to go back. With no Martin/Fitz wonder who can play that forward/ruck role.
  5. I'm in a bar in Austin, TX and have found some wifi. Looking forwarding to following Demonland for news on the Casey. Go Scorps!
  6. Good to see Nev has been upgraded on the injury list from indefinite to 4-6 weeks. Hopefully he gets a chance to show his worth before seasons end. I feel the way he plays fits in well with Neeld’s footy philosophy.
  7. So anyone know about Rory's latest injury. After a great game for the Scorps a couple of weeks ago I was looking forward to watching his progress throughout the second half of the year. Acording to http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/137096/default.aspx He is back on the indefinite injury list with a back. Bad news indeed.
  8. Jamar? I thought he was instrumental. Rivers continues great form also.
  9. I wonder if the retunr of MacDonald means the switch of McDonald forward. Apparently McDonald spent much of the pre-season working with the forwards and played their for Casey during round 1.
  10. Final Bench: I/C: Cale Morton, Lynden Dunn, Joel Macdonald, James Sellar
  11. I absolutely loved watching Trapper play footy. I am seriously considering making the trek to watch him run around on Saturday. Might enjoy watching footy for the first time in a while!
  12. So does Bate = Davey? I am hoping to make the trek to see this game.
  13. No Kyle Matthews - apologies for my igonorance of Casey's pre-season but is the Kyle out injured? Really love watching him play
  14. How quickly Rivers has fallen away. I know Sellar has looked impressive for the past two weeks but I do remmeber Rivers have a fairly decent season last year. 2nd in the b&f was it not. He gets a gig in my 22 every day of the week.
  15. Was Aussie training today? Does anyone know of Aussie's intentions? If he is keen to remain an AFL player I wonder if we would consider him for a rookie spot if he looks good on the track.
  16. According to his twitter feed. Juice is overseas at the moment. Maybe nothing will be officially released until Neeld and co speak to Juice in person?
  17. The Book is not the story of Liam's career but rather a story of his journey from Yuendumu to the 'G. Also it is a book about Liam's story but is not itself Liam's story. The book is a great read and I highly recommend it.
  18. Thomo, We are watching different games. Jared Rivers very very rarely plays 'loose' man or as you title 'the easiest position on the ground'. He may have played this role occasionaly 5 years ago but not since. Rivers has a direct opponent every week and except for the game against Collingwood this year has rarely been beaten. I suppose to some it looks as if Rivers is playing loose man because he is such a good reader of the play he often zones off his man to help out other defenders and take uncontsted marks. This week against Port Adelaide for example John Butcher barely touched the footy. Rivers, Garland and Frawley have been terrific, it is not our defensive backs that are to blame for this season.
  19. Wow, really? I think Rivers (along with Frawley and Garland) has been great this year.
  20. Fair enough really. Good backup for us but only to get games if others are injured. I was surprised we ruled him off the table at the end of last season when a couple of teams were showing interest. At another club i beleive he could play a good couple of years of senior AFL footy.
  21. So has Juice lined up for the ressies or will we see him later this arvo?
  22. Although not based on all that much. Jack Fitzpatrick excites more than anyone on our list. The little I have seen with him coupled with the glowing reports from the footy department has me really excited. Lets he hope he has a strong finish to the season with the Casey seniors. Not sure why Kelvin wasn't playing seniors this week. The week before he played on a wing and kicked 3 in a BOG performance, would have though he deserved a call up.
  23. Yes! I am heading up. My first time seeing the boys play inter-state and my first time to Darwin. Really looking forward to it.
