  1. I agree i like the idea of giving the job to Bruce. Some of his best footy has been playing a run-with role and his tremendous fitness and willingness to push forward can be used to a real advantage to hurt Hodge the other way.
  2. Did anyone see the Age this morning? I must have been mistaken as i only got a brief look at the picture of the boys training, but i thought i saw Martin and Spencer competing in the Ruck with who i thouhgt was Shane Valenti standing over their shoulders. Anyone else see this? was have mistaken Valents for, and if it is him why was he at pre-season training?
  3. What are people thoughts of Brad's role next year? With some younger mids coming through i wonder if he will be moved to either end of the ground. He could return to his sweeping role he played a couple of years ago to free up Grimes and Morton for more midfield time. Or he could take a place deep in the forward line and return to where he started his career, sort of like Yze in his last couple of seasons.
  4. Lyden Dunn is not good enough overhead to play key forward. I watched a couple of games at Casey where he tore games apart playing as a genuine midfielder. Would play in the centre and rotate accross half forward and kick goals. Personally i like him and wasn't sure why he didn't play a bit more for the dees this year.
  5. A pity, really looked like he was finding his feet in'07. Not the worst depth player if kept. That match against Adelaide was a ripper wasn't it. 3 Brownlow votes?
  6. As an MCC/MFC member one thing i would love to see included is entry to an MFC away game. Allowing entry to a Docklands away game would actually be a real benefit for mcc members.
  7. Interestingly the players nominated Jamie Bennell as out best first year player for the ALFPA awards. Whilst i voted for LJ would not at all be surprised to see Jamie take home the award at the B&F.
  8. a slightly less impressive second half of the season i thought would cost him a spot in the 22 but gee i thought he would make the shortlist!
  9. So Dunn was droppped it seems. Stiff. still no Newton. would be handy if he (and a few others) were able to play a role in the Scorps finals tilt.
  10. I like Wheatley, a good player when fit, sadly being fit just never seemed to happen enough. let me assure there arn't many out there that love the M.F.C more. I've heard he won't even considering courting another club and in previous years flat out rejected any intrest from the USA because of his love for the Dees.
  11. Yep i like Davey as well. I would think it would be between him and Brock. I would be happy with either choice really.
  12. Big game for Juice, no Robbo no Miller no Jurrah, no Watts no Martin no Sautner. He should have the goal square pretty much to himself. I still hold out some hope for juice so here's hoping he embraces being the number one target and kicks a bag. Also no Jones named means he is at least making the trip north if not playing for the Dees.
  13. Not 100% sure but i think it may be 8 weeks
  14. How are we rorting the system if he has a stress fracture?
  15. NicNat has grown also- up from 197 to 200!
  16. Apologies if these have been posted before. Instead of studying i managed to stumble across these clips from the Vic Metro v WA match a while back and they make great viewing. All 3 look like tremendous talents. First i watched the Watts clip and thought what a great pick up he would be- a natural footballer, great size great hands. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=wjuXc1SM-l8 The I watched Naitanui- looks clumsy at times but does some incredible things. Just look at how many of his hit outs are to the genuine advantage of his team. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=FZnZ2MPY8jk Then Rich- wow, an unbelievable kick and his mark going back with the flight is just fantastic http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=FoSDEOLFGhs I really can't split them....
  17. Of players that have played AFL footy i think Weetra, Valenti, Martin, Frawley, Bode, Buckley and Morton qualify also maybe Newton.
  18. there is a segment on FC called tomorrow's headlines - leading up to this segment Hutcy said a 'garry i believe you will be making the headlines tomorrow' and then the first headline was an article from the Herald Sun which is written by Garry-----in writing the article garry is 'making' headlines----thats all kids, nothing interesting there
  19. ahh i see, Carroll has a lot of good attributes, his biggest problem has been he is a couple of cm's short to be able to really hold down full back. Unfortunately I doubt his skills are of the standard to allow him to play a more creative role further up the ground.
  20. I haven't missed too many Dees matches or Sandy match reports.... i can't remember Carroll being up forward. Do you mean in his time for Claremont? even then i remember Mark Riley talking about how he was a tough no nonsense backman.
  21. named on the wing...........
