It was interesting to read about St Kilda striking an agreement with another VFL club so that Lewis Pearce could play full games in the ruck as he was always behind either Hickey or Longer in their own VFL side.

I think people are underestimating Hibbo's season. Not as outstanding as last year - but in m opinion still very good. Big games from Vince and Lewis needed. Might also see Salem play deeper? Wager is the like replacement but Smith if we want to cover defensively could be the option.

I am having horrible thoughts that Viney, Tyson, Frost and of course Bugg are all out and none of the injured players get up to replace them. Looking at something like Out: Viney, Tyson, Bugg, Frost In: Weideman, Trengove, JKH, Kent yikes.

With the game on Sunday I wouldn't be suprised to see that the carry over emergency makes it back to play on Sunday. We have done that in the past - I even remember two players getting a red eye back from Perth and playing on the Sunday! Coming back from Adelaide much more manageable.

I think I would be going down this path as well. Perhaps a different story if at the G but indoors I think we go smaller and quicker in our forward line. Petracca and Hannan and even Harmes can have stints closer to goal. Vince and Kent for the two suspended.

I think it is fair that Gawny the only one from us. Half way through Jack Viney would have not just been in the squad but the 22 but his second half of the season was just not as strong. Gee it stings to see the name Scully in there....

Vanders is the much better comparison than Dawes/Pedersen. I think Mayne's best is much better than the best we have seen from Vanders so far, that said we haven't seen enough of Mayne's best over the last two season. His defensive pressure is very good and he is a lovely kick - I wouldn't rule out if he was costing us nothing.

I watch Rory closely, one my favorite players in the competition to watch. I really think he is the next best thing, could be the premier Ruck/Forward in the competition in two years. Would be incredible if he somehow ended up at Melbourne but I can't see it happening. Going to Freo where in a year he is the first choice ruck and first choice tall forward makes a lot more sense.

What a grub act that Sandy player biting Clayton Oliver. No wonder Oliver was so angry! I hope that gets looked at by the tribunal.

From no level of expertise beyond reading a lot of other phantom drafts this certainly fits the common narrative. If Essendon take both Curnow and Francis it really is heart in mouth stuff with the Gold Cast's pick, hoping they don't draft a tall - I imagine their probable pick was canvassed during the trade discussions.

I rate Sinclair - had an excellent year. If he was to move I think it would be to a club where he could play as Number 1 Ruck. Same for Scott Lycett.

I went down and had a look today. Fitzy was excellent at CHB. Lots of intercept marks and used the ball well JKH really good in patches. Played mostly in the middle. Kicked 2.3 - Casey's classiest Harmes impressed me. First time I've seen him live this year. Played a good inside game. Continues good form Jamar was dominant. Excellent second half particularly. Pity the midfield didn't take advantage of the service. King. Tougher day this week for Max. Was number 1 forward so had their best back all day. always had 2 or 3 other defenders hanging off him when the ball was in the air. Never dropped his head, kicked a goal in the last and was serviceable in the ruck. Terlich and Mitchie both just had games. Both got a bit of it without ever really influencing the game. McDonald and White both showed glimpses competing well down back.

No Fitzpatrick........... or Newton for that matter

Strange that Grimes is named in Casey side as well as Melbourne starting 18. Also interesting the Fitz is named in the forward line - I know named sides mean little but perhaps a signal of a change (perhaps to replace Pedersen/Spencer as forward ruck and giving O.McDonald a role down back). Disappointing the Dev Tean don't play. Really sucks that Max King and Mitch White are fit but can't play a game of footy.
