  1. This is probably our only trip to Perth this year. Make it count boys.
  2. This would be a great thread of misery stories. My clubhouse leader would be QB (2014?) where we kicked 3 goals for the day and the first one (N Jones) was in the first 45 secs of the game.
  3. Gees I hope we win on Sunday so I don't have to revisit this thread.
  4. He should be knighted for turning up in 2012 and 2013.
  5. I was pretty happy when he nailed that goal early in the last qtr vs. Geelong in the 2018 finals. He’s done well over his time with those captains goals from around 50.
  6. Here's an idea - Why don't we cancel all the home and away games, derive a ladder from the pre-season results and the top 8 from the preseason play finals in September. MARSH COMMUNITY SERIES 2020 LADDER 1. GWS Giants (2-0, 188.5%) 2. Gold Coast Suns (2-0, 163.6%) 3. Melbourne (2-0, 154.6%) 4. Fremantle (2-0, 149.5%) 5. St Kilda (2-0, 121.8%) 6. Port Adelaide (2-0, 119.1%) 7. Essendon (2-0, 108.1%) 8. Collingwood (1-1, 125.9%) 9. Western Bulldogs (1-1, 122.4%) 10. Brisbane Lions (1-1, 114.6%) 11. North Melbourne (1-1, 81.7%) 12. West Coast Eagles (0-2, 94%) 13. Adelaide Crows (0-2, 77%) 14. Hawthorn (0-2, 72.4%) 15. Richmond (0-2, 72%) 16. Geelong Cats (0-2, 61.5%) 17. Carlton (0-2, 54.2%) 18. Sydney Swans (0-2, 50.2%)
  7. There will still be a stacked backline and nobody to kick the ball to going forward from D50. Not sure how that increases scoring.
  8. Carlton in 6th is a bit of a surprise
  9. No they’re not. Sam is the son of Geoff (chook) McClure, who was a journo with the Age
  10. In the period from 1955 - 1960, we lost a sum total of 6 home games at the MCG. An average of 1 game a year. Consistency, depth and feared by our opponents. Id reckon the early 2000’s Brisbane three peat team was much the same. If I’m comparing us to them, I reckon we’re only missing the Jonathan Brown equivalent.
  11. Interesting the commentary around a 3 year deal. Rewind to when it was announced - not too much dismay at that point:
  12. I believe......that was 3 minutes of my life I'll never get back
  13. Christian should apologise for scrubbing May last year based on his guidelines for what constitutes a reportable offence
  14. Whilst Viney did look highly disappointed, he should be proud that 35 of 45 players voted for him. Phenomenal demonstration of his leadership standing with his peers.
  15. Paxy all class again, clear bog for mine. Missed the first quarter but didnt see Daisy much, only 12 inside 50’s for eagles for their 1-1 score line, so the defence had an easier day today. Elise all class through the guts, tough as nails. Felt sorry for Lily not quite getting her first goal in AFLW, looked like one without goal line camera angles. Important percentage today, great win to the la-dees, top of conf B with 214%!
  16. I reckon TMac looks better with Brown in the side (sample set of 1 game). Bedford is a ripper. I can’t see how my future poster child Sparrow gets into this side, which is a shame, and a great problem at the same time.
  17. $5K a year for 8 years doesn't sound like much of a fine. Players get that for a melee.
  18. I’m surprised we haven’t heard from @WERRIDEE yet!
  19. That section on the right hand side looks like the Star Wars bit where the dead translucent Yoda, Obi Wan and Annakin are giving a bit of mentor support to the young Luke Skywalker. #jonesnotgoneyet I reckon the banner is a ripper DL.
  20. Yep - on grand final day. Not necessarily in round 1.
  21. Yep - very similar. Shiel not looking as he was giving the ball off, Schofield rises in the bump and takes him high. If there's an argument about where/how high the contact actually is (as a means of him getting off the charge), you could counter argue Schofield has a "duty of care" (a la Trengove sling tackle on Dangerfield and subsequent suspension) as Shiel's head hits the deck pretty hard (no means of protecting himself). Should get a week.
  22. Nice to wake up after seeing two Dees wins and no injuries. And we’ve got Friday night footy next week. And it’s sunny......
  23. I'd have agreed with you Luci, however when the club rang me on Tuesday to renew my Red and Blue, they offered an upgrade to Level 2 Trident for me and my boy, which I took them up on. There were a couple of options on seats, so not sure when they became Waitlisted exactly but I'd reckon they've got some if you rang and asked.
  24. Welcome to D'Land. Nice contribution. Positive posts most welcome, however you will find in the minority.
  25. Gee Lockhart looks composed with the ball down back.
