  1. I was there last week AF, but I can’t see the Blues bringing 4 QTEQ of heat. That said, I remember 2016-2017 when we should have belted them but didn’t.
  2. Nathan Jones out for a few weeks with a minor hamstring strain, injured yesterday at training https://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/hamstring-injury-puts-nathan-jones-record-attempt-on-hold/news-story/857785c93ca884196dbd04ef1f3aef02
  3. Do you live in Palm Cove?
  4. I'd hope so Nasher. Rather than reducing salary cap pressure, it's (hopefully) more a shifting of the salary cap pressure on to other players we can't afford to lose - Clarry will be looking for a significant contract in 2 years time as well as Rivers, Kossie and Jackson starting to move into the window of commanding a larger share of the pie.
  5. They can take this years Melbourne entry off it then...
  6. According to the Matter of Stats website, more than 50,000 simulations suggest we're likely to finish top 4. http://www.matterofstats.com/mafl-simulations/2021-simulating-the-final-ladder-after-round-8
  7. I'm not sure what's worse. That we have a three page thread on socks or that I've just read it all.
  8. I watched the VFL game vs Kangaroos and thought Weid's goal kicking technique was beautiful to watch.
  9. Well deserved recognition.
  10. Happy Mother’s Day to all Demonland mums. Nice to mull over a win while the kids make you breakfast
  11. No 1 vs No 2 pressure teams and the game played like that. There were times I thought we were playing us. I was sitting next to a Swans supporter on the train on the way home who singled out Umpire 7 for a trip to the Albury Wodonga league next week. Thought he stiffed us both. I thought our centre clearances after qtr time was awful. Did well across half back to repel all number of attacks. Tom Mac, take a bow. That pack mark in the 4th was awesome. BBB did some really nice things and shut up his detractors from last week. Nervous for Trac, he didn't look great after the clash at the end. Very proppy. Great win against a good side. Not good for the nerves.
  12. If the ground is as greasy as the aisles here, I’m not surprised the kicking efficiency is down. Few slipping as well.
  13. I’m an Arsenal fan and won’t be singing you’ll never walk alone as it’s Liverpool’s song We’ve already got one that I sing at the end of the game (never at the start, it’s an omen)
  14. Hopefully we took a good look at how they dismantled the Tigers at the G and have a plan for it
  15. The pressure would really be ratcheting up on the Tigers if it wasn’t for 1 good quarter against the Dogs
  16. Congrats to Rick Lever on ? games and lay off Harmesy (although I’d have gone Sparrow)
  17. I don’t glorify him. I reckon he’s just a plain thug
  18. Completely agree. She certainly sounded connected to the playing group. Over and above the clarity she provided on board due diligence on signing off on contracts and salary cap management, which was great; I loved the bit where she got round a young player with a knee injury (I'd say Neita earlier this year?) and suggested he have a chat with Trac, only to be told that Trac had already made contact with him. Shows care within the club from board -> player, not just players looking out for each other.
  19. Thanks to Demonland I haven't suffered alone either.
  20. The only thing that would make this AA22 even better would be to have no pies players and all of Treloar, Stephenson and Phillips in the team
  21. I'm told it's actually a rash that you can get a cream for....
  22. I reckon he's planting an "I told you so" peg in the sand. I'm sure Trac over the course of 7 years will have a dip in form, at which point he can come out and say "See....."
  23. I'm sure there's a Sydney Paddy McCartin and Kayo = KO joke in there somewhere....
  24. You can't have watched too many games last year that closely. They had their logo on the ball.
  25. With respect to an AFL appeal of the decision, according to the rules, the AFL can only appeal per below: AN APPEAL OF A DECISION OF THE TRIBUNAL A Player or the AFL General Counsel may appeal the decision of the Tribunal to the Appeal Board on one or more of the following grounds: » An error of law has occurred; » The decision of the Tribunal is so unreasonable that no Tribunal acting reasonably could have come to that decision having regard to the evidence before it; » The classification of the offence by the Tribunal was manifestly excessive or inadequate; or » The sanction imposed by the Tribunal was manifestly excessive or inadequate. Given the hearing was around whether the act was careless (as opposed to the impact), then any errors of law would have been addressed in the original hearing. And given the classification/sanctions were not manifestly inadequate (the grading was only careless to begin with), then the only grounds the AFL could appeal under is that no other Tribunal would come to the same conclusion. And given the Tribunal explained the grounds for their decision, it's reasonable to foresee another Tribunal reaching the same conclusion. Nothing to see here. Move on.
