I'm as nervous as most - I'm using the 2018 EF as a reference point that when we bring it, and it's a hot game, we're better than them. And we're 3 years better than we were in 2018. And they're 3 years closer to retirement. It's working for me so far.

I'd be comfortable with him coming off the bench and icing a game with a goal like the semi vs Hawthorn 2018.

I've long wondered how you dealt with that - highly disappointing game and then Big Carl dropping you in it. 58 scoring shots against, and then we come out the next week with a 5 goal win over the bombers. What a rollercoaster.

Gee this thread brings back some memories. First game - Dees vs South Melbourne, at the G in 1981. We blew a half time lead and lost by 5 goals. Got into the rooms after the game and Michael Seddon signed my record. I was pretty impressed as an 11 yo. Worst game - There are a few contenders. I'll go for the QB 2014 game when we kicked 3 goals for the game, and Jonesy kicked the first one in the first 45 seconds. The rest of the game was painfully cold and long. I"m sure there's half a dozen worse one's I've mentally blocked out. Best game - I'll go for Geelong elimination final in 2018, only because my boy sitting next to me never appreciated the level of support for the dees, and I now get great enjoyment watching our success through his eyes. Crowd was amazing that night. Elim final vs WCE in 1988 at Arctic park was pretty good too.

I want a refund from you for 2021.

I reckon they're holding him as insurance for a PF injury (ie he's in the 23-25 to be picked range). If we get through unscathed, then I suspect they're going to have an honest conversation with him and send him home for the birth of his kids.
