My view is the club are rewarding these guys for a tough year and finals series where they were away from friends and family for the betterment of our best 22 where they weren't going to crack a spot. Fundamentally, this is a "culture" decision where the whole playing group are in focus and the club isn't being mercenary with 7 list spots that won't change whether we contend or not next year. We know what we're going to get with these guys, and it will start with holding a standard through pre-season (the same standard held through the finals series).

As the only MFC Norm Smith medallist ever, I already put him in our list of greats.

It would be good if you could select one of the various radio commentaries on the DVD to watch the game instead of Ch 7 One of the lads over on BF has stitched the radio commentary from MMM, SEN, 3AW, K Rock and ABC to the Ch 7 video. It makes great replay watching with the different audio tracks. SEN particularly good with Gerard Whately and Anthony Hudson.

Objective 1: top 4 finish. Tick Objective 2: Home qualifying final. Tick Objective 3: Week off. Tick Objective 4: Home prelim final. Tick Objective 5: Win the flag. Tick Perfect season, the rest is fluff.

I've spent the last couple of days wondering whether we'd have won the flag if Petty hadn't turned out to be the asset he was once he had to step in for Tomlinson. He was a massive win for the team maintaining it's structure.

Super grand final performance. Contrary to many on here, I've rated Tom since his debut against Port in 2019. Thought he held his head high when most around him were crap (in that game). I reckon his trajectory is going to have him as an elite player in a couple of years, and those here wanting him traded will be made to look foolish. Here endeth my sermon.

For all the attention Jonesy has been getting for missing this grand final, I’ve really had a soft spot for Nev missing as well. Just a champion of our club. His blanketing job that he did on a Dangerfield in the 2018 EF was one of the great defensive games I’ve ever seen. All the best Nev for whatever you do next. I hope there’s something to do with the club involved, you are a high quality individual and would be sorely missed.
