  1. news‘Disaster’: West Coast players hold ‘intervention’ amid g...Leaders of the West Coast playing group have reportedly held an “intervention” in a bid to turn around its woes after the worst start to an AFL season in the club’s history.Didn't really read like they're galvanised. More rusted to pieces.
  2. Thought WCE in the highlights package from last week's game really dropped their collective heads. Their first three goals which was pretty much a half of footy was based on two mistakes from Hawthorn and a long range effort from Waterman. I'd like to think that if we learn from their past games we should be in front far enough at 3QT that our last quarter fade outs hopefully won't be a factor.
  3. He was brought in to replace the injured Melksham
  4. From my perspective, the CEO is running a $60 million business as well as overseeing a $30 million future fund and a further $9.5 million funding for the Caulfield project. He has a team of GM's and managers that oversee day to day management of the business from delivery of the football program through to sensible investment of the future fund to generate returns and overseeing project delivery for Caulfield including stakeholder management. I don't need a CEO that can run a sub 8 minute 2km time trial or kick off both sides of his body. I need him to ensure his team feels empowered, has all the resources they need to succeed and hopefully delivers an operating profit at the end of the financial year.
  5. The way they protected Ginnivan when everybody was at him as a flopper playing for free kicks, only to turn on him after he left for Hawthorn was hilarious
  6. Bit of a pain trying to get a javelin launcher onto a packed train in the way home
  7. I heard this a couple of years back in the top deck at Marvel, and have even rolled it out myself as well. Agree it never gets old He other one I heard and liked was in a day game when a bloke yelled out “turn the lights on, I want to see more of this” (wasn’t this year!!)
  8. He's got some nice leading patterns which I never really saw from Jack Watts.
  9. That's definitely not me. I'm the guy critiquing the umpires "That's not a mark" "That's not 15" BALLLLLLLLLL! "You've got to pay them both ways" "FFS" "There used to be one umpire who's doing a better job than these 4" Kosssieeeeeee! "They need to get rid of the insufficient intent rule, that call was b*[censored]" "Kick a goal son! How good was that!"
  10. Phenomenal result considering the scores were level at quarter time.
  11. Don't disagree, but how good did the forward 50 zone look last week with just Kossie in it?
  12. Hoping we build more confidence in the new game style and really take the game on. It was great to watch last week, and we could really get on a roll with further belief it's working.
  13. And no reports/suspensions.
  14. Goody said about eleventeen times in his post match presser that he was really proud of what we did when we didn't have the ball. Maybe Tom's game exemplified this (?) whilst not reflected in the stats sheet.
  15. Agreed, it is a wonderful and moving occasion. So much so my wife is coming along as well, she's on the record as saying she's happy to come just to watch the pre-match ceremony and then go home (but she'll grudgingly stay for the game).
  16. This is exactly how Richmond were in 2017 (and they won the flag) - the one tall in the forward line option with Riewoldt (who isn't that tall), but needed a team playing quick footy and applying forward pressure as you suggest.
  17. She’s better than she used to be - in the past, she’d try to create a newspaper headline after every goal which became really cringy. She’s pared that back thankfully. I did find it amusing that she called two possessions for Disco Turner in the third after he’d been subbed off for concussion.
  18. They took McVee off at 3QT, so judging him by his stats might be a bit skewed.
  19. Re: Shai Bolton flying for a speccy and hitting Disco Turner flush in the back of his head with his knee (I’d contend a missile) Whilst many accept he shouldn’t get time off for this, and protecting the speccy is high on the AFL agenda, doesn’t Bolton have a duty of care as a player who can elevate himself to head height without having to ride up the opponents back? I’m of the view the AFL are heavily blinkered when it comes to concussion and it [censored] me that they bandy around duty of care at the tribunal when it suits them.
  20. I’ve seen Freo a couple of times this year at Optus, and one thing stood out for me - they really missed Luke Jackson yesterday. And yes, I know we were missing players too, but he’s such a versatile weapon for them. Love to have him back
  21. Apologies if this repeats an earlier post, but I thought we looked really dangerous at centre bounces due to handballing through the congestion and having really good position for i50 entries. Ripped them apart a number of times.
  22. Loved the cheer squad really trying to generate some noise in the last quarter, then the score board had a “make some noise” screen, showing the cheer squad which only amped them up more. Super effort by the demon army, rest up the tonsils on a short turnaround
  23. The change in our gameplay was stark in the last, much less playing on. Last qtrs def still a worry But gees I’m proud of the boys, played their hearts out
  24. I'd like Longmire because (1) he's always making the finals and semi-regularly grannies, and (2) to date he plays half a year on a ground the size of a postage stamp and only gets 1-2 games on the G a year. Give him a home ground of the G which he'll then learn to play better, and I reckon he'd then have a better strike rate in grannies.
