As long as she doesn't try to get a game off the back of it. -
Angus Brayshaw Forced into Retirement
In Harmes Way replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is exactly the point that Robbo is missing in comparing a bung knee to concussion. Gus's decision was effectively made for him by medical experts, and we don't want either the AFL or the footy club concerned to attempt to exert influence on any such decision, given the invisible nature of the injury, based on commercial factors like carrying the impending retirement within a salary cap. -
But the disputed ball was on the goal line - and the kick off line (top of the goal square) is 9m out. So I'm not quite sure what you're saying here jnr.
-
I know you come from the old school of "he doesn't play for us anymore", but I for one (goes with my username) was happy to see him getting a kick and continuing his career - I think we got the best from him, and moved him on at the right time. His kick to hit up fritta in the grand final was not only the best kick I ever saw, it was the start of a massive turnaround in that grand final.

Im with you WCW - we need to start a class action against the AFL for skin cancer victims

If they argue that kicking is a football act, then it should have been a 50m penalty at least given the ball wasn't in play.

Shout out to Howes who I thought looked really comfortable and composed in game 2. He, Marty Hore and Judd McVee showed really solid support to the three tall defenders and I agree with the earlier poster who highlighted the benefit of this being that this provides the grounds for Salo to move into the midfield.

Wasn’t it just nice to sit in the afternoon Sun and football?

Harry Mackay last year couldn’t hit the side of a barn, and I wouldn’t put my house on Joe Daniher kicking a goal either. Last year our problem was kicking accuracy, not forward connection/impotency. As other posters have said, get a couple of our key outs back in and focus on straight kicking.

We should go back to last year and read the post game thread for the Brisbane away game which was also very hot and humid, and we got a towelling up until the lights went out and we then kicked 5 goals to make the loss look less awful. We still made the top 4 last year despite that showing. I'm taking the same view this year - we were very rusty and the conditions certainly didn't help. Probably most disappointing from last night was the last quarter showing after kicking 5 in the third.

Shows you what they know - I can confidently say we’ve never lost a game by 7.9 points

I’ve picked us plus all the other home teams. GWS robbed in that prelim, can’t happen twice in a row and without (I’m guesssing) the same levels of crowd noise influencing the umpiring.

Jordan Lewis has gone?

Love the boy and I can fully understand why others would love him too.

Where will the Dees finish after round 24?
In Harmes Way replied to binman's topic in Melbourne Demons
I always think us at our best is better than anyone. And I’m generally glass half full that we’ll be at our best. So my guesstimate is minor premiers with a three game gap to second place. -
That's fair. You'd want to make sure there are goal posts first.
-
Or called it the Claytons round - the Season opener when you aren’t having a Season opener
-
LVR = loan value ratio. Don't want to over capitalise in our forward line?
-
He's got a lot to answer for.

I remember we were good early last year too. Hopefully we can carry it further through the season this year
-
Any chance of a score update?
-
Sounds like we’re mixing things up a bit which is welcome news
-
Gas there been a score yet?
-
Is he our backup ruck option?
-
Hopefully we kick 17 9 this time
