  1. I’m struggling with Gil throwing the goal umpire under the bus for a mistake rather than reviewing how the AFL can fix a potential future recurrence by amending the review system (procedures for initiating a review, quality of the review footage) to look after both the teams, the umpires and the paying members/supporters. It’s just lazy management, asleep at the wheel.
  2. It’s my hope/belief daz that Goody is trying to keep a few aces up his sleeve for finals and we’ll see a bit more of him in the guts when it matters. That said, he threw Petty forward against Brisbane in the finals last year when it was already too late, so what would I know.
  3. When Joel Smith is taking a shot at goal from the pocket/boundary, I have every confidence he’s not going to miss. He’s a lovely set shot
  4. Better than ok I thought. I was looking for reasons to drop him, but thought he showed confidence, some nice evasive skills with ball in hand and good foot skills. I’d like another look at him.
  5. Are/were you an élite athlete? That’s a pretty impressive and strict diet regime.
  6. I’m feeling sad for Ben Tleigh-East
  7. And in fact, that statement would make them a member of the "worst bottom 4" by extension.
  8. I thought it was really poxy football club from the old days
  9. Then I'm an outlier too. I liked your strategy/selections.
  10. Neither do Carlton fans that just yell out ball whenever one of their players gets somewhere near the opponent with the ball
  11. I thought I'd drop back in after 30 mins to see if there's any clues, but nup.....
  12. I'm surprised you can't hear the beeping and whirring of the modem as they send the decision up to ARC for review.
  13. For everyone getting stuck into Salo for not kicking that goal from 45 in free space, nobody is commenting on Bowey scrabbling around on all 4's in the third quarter failing to kill the ball in front of Carlton's goal which could equally be the difference in the game. And as much as I love Gawny, we lost the first three centre clearances of the last quarter which gave us a mountain to climb. For all the Grundy haters, he stemmed the bleeding from the middle. I think there's a few players that would be looking closely at themselves, but at the end of it all, they were a bit better at applying the pressure for longer which led to a lot of the above.
  14. The club would absolutely want Gawny's 200th at the G in front of supporters, friends and family; as opposed to the SCG.
  15. And we as paying supporters deserve better too. Good post binny
  16. We should welcome the fact that we've got tough opponents going into finals. We'll be better off overall as a result. That said, I'd rather not be playing at the SCG.
  17. I haven't done any analysis on this, but I reckon the problem with cameras for goal review technology is that they have to cover the likelihood of a touched ball wherever that might be - it could theoretically be touched off the boot anywhere inside the forward 50 arc, not necessarily just on the goal line like Saturday's instance. Therefore it's probably a larger number of cameras involved, and at all grounds, and on Channel 7/Fox to cover the cost for; as the broadcaster?
  18. How good was Kossie’s goal in the last qtr with two opponents and no gap to squeeze the ball through. Gees he’s worth the price of a (family) membership
  19. Again? Or is this rev 2 of the Craig Hutchison spat?
  20. I’m convinced Dodoro has compromising photos of someone high up at the Bombers. The bloke has Teflon shoulders
  21. I’ve enjoyed the fact that we’ve largely been flying under the radar despite the fact we’re 2nd on the ladder. After we take the choccies tonight the spotlight will well and truly be on. Games like this are a great tune up for finals, bring it on.
