Wildcard Weekend
This is a great idea. Winner gets greater probability of #1 draft pick through lottery/similar to avoid tanking. Not a fan of the og proposal. I don’t think it’s fair to have 7-10 placed teams play potentially 2 additional games to a top 4 prelim final opponent.

The real state of the game
Love this. Especially remove the insufficient intent rule. F’ng joke. Either go back to the way it was and throw it in (my preference), or be like soccer and the opposition gets the ball every time it goes out.

The Run Home
At least there's a good test for the dees in each of these last 6 games. If we do make the 8, we'll be hardened and ready to go.

My 3 word player analysis V Essendon
As much as I don't like umpire 22, I thank the lord he's no Dean Margetts.

Angus Brayshaw Forced into Retirement
What a load of [censored]. There's lots of reasons why people might not financially support the club, especially these days, but it doesn't mean they don't love the dees any less. I myself see my family's financial memberships as a charity contribution (esp. over the 2010's decade and my paid up wife rarely ever comes). Does that make my fam. any less of a supporter? Does anyone who doesn't get down to watch training any less of a supporter? If you don't get to every single Melbourne based game, home or away, does that make you any less of a supporter?

Whispering in the Umpires Ears
Despite the article suggesting that in game decision making isn't affected, I've been of the opinion that this actually has been the case for some time. I've seen multiple instances where the umpire has paid a very late free kick and I've said to my boy "that one he missed has come down from upstairs". That said, I haven't been unhappy with any of these perceived third party decisions (I think we've generally been on the receiving end).

My 3 word player analysis V StKilda
Hunter. Freed up Langdon. Chandler. Solid linkup game. Kicks one OOF but outside that was very good.

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs St. Kilda
I actually thought the sections of the game where we continued to try and move the ball forward in chaos/scramble mode resembled 2021 as well. I guess we were playing a team at $3.40 to win odds, and it ended up showing, but our retention of the ball in congestion esp. using handball was very good (and we didn't really overdo it for once). The game style we've been trying to perfect this year really shone out yesterday, I hope it gives confidence and holds up against the stronger defensive teams. Next week against Freo will be a good test.
