Harry Mackay last year couldn’t hit the side of a barn, and I wouldn’t put my house on Joe Daniher kicking a goal either. Last year our problem was kicking accuracy, not forward connection/impotency. As other posters have said, get a couple of our key outs back in and focus on straight kicking.

We should go back to last year and read the post game thread for the Brisbane away game which was also very hot and humid, and we got a towelling up until the lights went out and we then kicked 5 goals to make the loss look less awful. We still made the top 4 last year despite that showing. I'm taking the same view this year - we were very rusty and the conditions certainly didn't help. Probably most disappointing from last night was the last quarter showing after kicking 5 in the third.

I’ve picked us plus all the other home teams. GWS robbed in that prelim, can’t happen twice in a row and without (I’m guesssing) the same levels of crowd noise influencing the umpiring.

I always think us at our best is better than anyone. And I’m generally glass half full that we’ll be at our best. So my guesstimate is minor premiers with a three game gap to second place.

Thanks for posting that WCW, very informative. I'm particulalry interested in the Beyond Bank presence as I'm a customer and the only branch they have in Melbourne is in South Melbourne, which is hugely inconvenient.
