  1. Colin Garland ? Played 141 games ..is back in Tassie.. not sure if he has children but would be in the demographic?
  2. Riewoldt no 1 pick …Franklin no 5 pick …Amiss no 8. The King twins have def not lived up to the lofty expectations..yet ..Hawkins was a very slow starter. I have no idea whether Matthew will make it but have zero interest in saying 2025 is a make or break year for him. I want to at least see him play a few AFL games before casting any aspirations. I do know for a fact that the coaches believe in him …he doesn’t need to be a Franklin or Riewoldt …there probably will never be players like them but if he can play his part in our young developing and promising forward line ..I’ll be happy ..
  3. Years !! …please . He was drafted 2022 and it’s now 2025 so effectively 2 years for a skinny tall forward so far. I’d be happy for him to get a few games at AFL this season and it would be a good progression …
  4. 1 ..because he’s an experienced massive ruckman who doesn’t expect to be the No 1 and from all accounts is an amazing people /club person so will be a great ruck coach & 2 because Verall isn’t ready yet ..but surely too early to say he won’t make it
  5. Probably not the right topic to put this on but there’s a great listen on RSN with Alan Richardson. Paraphrasing..Gawn & Trac are close to full fitness and importantly have missed only contact training which the club is ok with as they are so good at that. Oliver is very happy mentally and flying physically…club very excited. Also so happy to get Mentha and think he is tracking well. Hoping they finally have McAdams body right and if they can keep him fit and he is right now ..big bonus. Super impressed with Langford & Lindsay and they’ll be thereabouts round 1 sounded a bit more positive re Johnson playing Rnd 1. They feel that JVR is right to go ..it’s his time. Petty will be a valuable swing player for us. Rivers is wanted by both midfield and backline coaches so very happy with his progression & finally re Kozzie ..WA teams are keen to get him but as far as MFC is concerned Kozzie will be with us for a long time. He and his family are very happy here. Anyway I feel very excited after that listen ..
  6. Apparently Kynan Brown was helped off the ground ..walking between 2 trainers ..did you notice that ?
  7. I tend to think that Kozzie’s comment about wanting to play in WA with the Indigenous team has been construed that he wants to play for Freo. Poetic license ..Tom Morris ..Sam McClure are perennial offenders
  8. Why and where was it said that KOZ stated he wants to play in WA. I have read that if a team came out of the Northern Territory he would want to play there but then I’m guessing most Aboriginal players would be keen to play in that team. I have however read in reputable articles (The Age for one) that he is very happy here and has interests outside of footy in Melb …
  9. In any elite competition/business etc the margins between top ..middle & bottom are generally minuscule. Take our last season ..our injury list impacted some of our top players. They were replaced by our up & coming players but not elite players. Still the margins in our losing games were minimal & flip a couple of those results and we make top 8. Positives from our disadvantages of last year those young players got games & AFL experience..we gained another 2 top 10picks.. & at this stage of the preseason we are travelling pretty well. If luck goes our way (in the uncontrollables) we can flip the results pretty quickly. We’re training well ..our list is pretty fit ..we just need what every team can’t control ..a bit of luck
  10. I still felt your post was derogatory, Maybe you take the advice that Binman gave GW. If you don’t agree with her then let it go. Posters can make their own mind up as to what we believe …we don’t need to post our opinions. They are only of interest to yourself ..
  11. If we get a fit Spargo back then a massive plus as far as I’m concerned. I think a few forget his contribution before he went down the very long injury path …
  12. He’s is recovering from a shoulder …was in a sling a month or so ago
  13. In his radio interview he felt his injury had finally taken a turn for the better and was pretty confident he would be right for Rnd 1 …they are being very conservative with him ..,
  14. He suffered a “syndesmosis injury against the GC Suns and didn’t play again. Pretty sure that doesn’t come under “finally” omitted..
  15. This…thank you. How many other social media post etc from other MFC players have we seen …he is actually just one of many . I’m more interested watching /hearing about our new recruits & younger players. They are the ones who will lift us up the ladder..we know what we can get from our older brigade.
  16. Maybe listen to Spargo’s radio interview on RSN …only positive vibes re Clarry & Trac…
  17. That was a fantastic interview. So interesting to hear about his injury especially ..he has certainty done the hard yards there. One of the better interviews to listen to …
  18. Deestar9 replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
As soon as Dean Cox ruled himself out of WC job..this was def on the cards. Not bad timing..Cox will effectively be there for the preseason of the whole team. The coaches under pressure next season will be a tad nervous with Longmire in the background…
  19. Really?? I’m assuming you’re retiring from D’land then as 90% of your posts constantly attack & put down posters ..so absolutely Happy Days if that’s the case
  20. Given that he’s a premiership player from Werribee .. I assume he’s been told he will get an AFL opportunity if he’s good enough. Why would he come just to play for Casey ?
  21. You’re quite right ..JT stated “they’d put a lot of work into this draft” so he was picked for a purpose. Happy to see how it pans out before he’s relegated immediately to Casey (as some posters assume ) .
  22. Werribee premiership player …forward/ruck ..very tough
  23. Thanks for refreshing my memory … i obviously read too much D’land …
  24. It’s so very predictable…preseason finally starts & we’re all (mostly) excited to read about the players ..coaches …anything really as it is a time for optimism after a couple of dismal years. It’s fantastic that we have posters who can get to training and give us their insights and opinions. But once again ..anyone who is different or purports to have some relationship with staff or players …out come the knives. I miss WCW & I enjoy Saty ..in fact I read every poster who has been to training & takes the time to post. I have never read a post where two people who have actually attended training criticise each other ?
  25. Can’t believe we are into the first week of preseason and you’re already in with the negativity. Let’s just enjoy the fresh start ..new coaches ..admin ..players etc before the nit picking starts. That’s why it’s important to have posters like WCW post about preseason training. That’s where we will see changes to the game plan etc. Pointless procrastinating about it now .
