Only just able to listen to podcast …I think the “rant” was very measured & absolutely brilliant. Nothing more to be said but ..thanks.

You obviously haven’t read articles or listened to discussions (not Binman’s) where the High Performance teams are arguably one of the most important factors. It’s not rocket science that you have to keep the performance levels of teams..players to a level that has them “cherry ripe” for finals but the challenge this year is there’s been an extra game ,,,5 day breaks ..some teams with 2 byes etc. Players would also have their own personal programs ..,goals etc. This year has had more anomalies in terms of scoring ..results..upsets that I can remember..so good luck trying to work out all that & also when “other teams “ are loading. Whether you want to acknowledge this or not football is a science ..we only see the obvious things but it’s what we don’t know & shouldn’t know.. is quite simply what goes on between those four walls.

Sour & silly comment. It was a great win missing 2 of our greatest players and a team effort executed very well. The disrespect you show our premiership coach is unbelievable. Did you actually notice last night how “tall forward lines” weren’t effective. No-one picked us ..the odds were against us and yet we won . Maybe just enjoy the win & leave the sniping out of it …

Disagree …Petty knows how to mark defensively & offensively & his marking has def improved. JVR has been capable all season of back up ruckman & it doesn’t seem to have diminished his output in any way. I’m sure the high performance team knows better than us & it’s drawing a long bow to say that Petty or JVR is at more risk of getting injured by playing in the ruck than other areas of the ground. With Petty fit..if we bought in Fullerton we would have to probably drop Turner. The game won’t be lost on our ruck selection…it will rely on all players doing the jobs they are given and those jobs will be plans that hair been put in place for the situation that has arisen …Max not playing.

"Very sore" Max Gawn in doubt for next Saturday vs Essendon
Deestar9 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Def agree with the Casey players but the Melb listed players will be playing to the clubs requirements…would have markers they must achieve each week. This is why maybe we don’t attract a better calibre of player because the Melb way comes first? Who knows …or maybe we’ve had a lot of injuries…weird playing schedules & only now have we a few more listed players available… -

I’ve read many training reports bemoaning the lack of talent at Casey only to see these players come in to the senior team surrounded by senior players and they preform admirably…AMW springs to mind. No-one replaces Max but let’s see what happens ..back whoever comes in & judge after the game -
"Very sore" Max Gawn in doubt for next Saturday vs Essendon

In 2018 WC lost Naitanui ..,Gaff & Shepherd & went onto win a GF …it’s about the collective efforts of every player at each match. Do that & we are in every match , -

So I guess you can rattle of the names of competent ruckmen who were available? -
Absolutely correct 👍🏻

OMG …I’ll say this once more …there was no defending of Clarry !! Gawn (I made no mention of Goodwin) was merely explaining a different quite unselfish role Clarry has been playing and BTW he wasn’t the only player discussed or the only player whose role will now change with Trac missing. I personally found it interesting as sometimes in the “heat” of the game you miss these things. So just an informative conversation …maybe do yourself a favour & listen rather than make your own unfounded comments!! -

Maybe listen to how Gawn explains what Clarrys role has been which (as I said) will now change as Trac is out. Not sure where I stated his possession count ..fitness .. etc . was not up to scratch. It’s not too hard to listen to Gawn …very enlightening actually. A lot more enlightening than what gets thrown around here, -
Wow …love this post …I’m sure eventually you’ll be worn down by the continuous negativity and sniping by the vast majority of posters but until you do …I’ll enjoy your posts !

Instead of these emotional uninformed posts maybe listen to our captain who describes the type of role Clarry has been playing for the club ..a very unselfish role that will change because of Trac’s unavailability…before you post such rubbish… -
Against a bunch of kids. ?? …our age profile tonight was exactly the same as North except they have heaps of top end young talent & effectively we were missing 2 top midfielders in Trac & Brayshaw ( I count Brayshaw as a miss because we lost him as the season started.) & also Lever who solidifies our backline. So …maybe have a good look at our team & realise how young it is . Not many teams would be running out with an 18yr old & 2 19yr olds’s .., we are incredibly down on confidence but we are hanging in there. Tell me how many forward lines ..even half forward lines have one player over 24 yrs ??

Is it possible to just laud another player without denigrating one of ours ?

Ethan ..the young guy who had the heart transplant & who was the story behind our Narm jumper

He was holding his second son Louis who is 5 months old. He’s very big !!

I know this is not really the place to post this but didn’t want to start a new topic. However there is a very great read about Clayton Oliver in the HS today …very insightful. It’s fantastic to have some positivity for him & the club in the media. We don’t get a lot of it.
-
Not sure if this is why but on TMac’s excellent interview with Cornes & Buckley he said that we do more “high impact” running rather than long distance so this probably gives us an edge when moving the ball & also “holding the ball” decisions …
-
Pretty sure at the end of Round 8 JVR was 1st in the league for contested marks & Fritch was 3rd. Petty 14th but that will def improve
-
Absolutely brilliant writing …enjoyed that summation !!

People just need to hear Eddie Betts & even Jack Riewoldt describe the degree of skill & execution in that kick & goal ..not one suggestion it wasn’t deliberately executed…
-
BBB..Hore & Billing’s were doing their km’s on the ground after the game last night so they may not play today & be held over as emergencies / possible inclusions for next week. The team would have trained up for this stretch of games so I think if any change maybe just Bowey straight in
-
Not sure I disagreed with any of the sentiments you expressed (except the Maynard incident & we can agree to disagree) My position is “in my opinion” I felt the incident should have been graded on the lower side..meriting a fine. In no way do I disagree with the new rulings but I am very happy the club is challenging the “penalty” of the ruling.
