If you can’t see why Melksham is so important in a very young forward line & with an out of form Fritsch …then all other points you make are invalid. His experience..ball delivery and on field coaching is exactly what we need right now

This is a great thread …not stupid optimism but well thought out points. Hopefully the doomsayers stay out of it and we can have some balanced opinions ..

Jackson says he’s staying ..his coach isn’t worried ..sounds like a beat up like the Clarry stories here. If it was true it’s been stated it would only be the MFC because of his relationship with Goody & some teammates. Half this forum want Goody gone …🤨

When you win a premiership I assume every supporter thinks they’ll win a few more but it just doesn’t happen ..they’re very hard to win. Ridiculous to blame the coach etc…. I could blame the umpiring that gifted Collingwood the premiership over an equally deserving Brisbane . Totally disagree re Collingwood supporters & I’m married to one. They are probably the most blindly loyal to their coach & players than any other team. But the most ridiculous comment is saying that it’s a weakness to have supporters who choose not to denigrate & moan about the coach ..players ..in fact anyone ad nauseum . I think that whilst 2025 probably won’t reach the lofty heights you demand …I can see a lot of positivity for the future. Oh & I’m also a loyal 50yr member though I’m not sure what diff that is supposed to make …

And you pick that up From the open Goschs park training sessions. I’m assuming you don’t attend the closed sessions at Casey or when they’re doing their indoor stuff? We are not a top 4 team ..could def push top 8 if we can keep the forward line together for more than a week & we finally get some reward on the scoreboard. That will come but overall I’m def see small improvements every week. With the composition of our team that’s a positive. We are definitely in a development year and we have more positives than negatives…

Pies rested Pendlebury ..checkers had an abdominal strain ..Maynard is managing plantar fasciitis & De Goey is a liability at the moment. They play a system based game which they’ve played (with a few tweaks & the odd new player) for 4 to 5 years. Geelong is similar. We’re not at that stage ..yet. It’s still a very long season so I’m not quite as carried away with them …Freo have fallen off a cliff

So glad Brad Green tweeted his disgust at the journalist who door stopped Clarry & also about journalists treatment of him in general. Also Gary stating basically that the Sam McClure story about Clarry being upset about game time is also not true. I know who I believe ..

I sincerely hope he doesn’t read the “respectful” discussion on here. With both Oscar Allen & Harry McKay taking personal leave with one of the main reasons being the hate & vitriol coming their way …I could completely understand him taking leave. This forum has discussed Carrie ad nauseum & yet as soon as T.Morris (Trac gave an inspiring speech in the rooms 😂) says something..some jump on it . As Max said today it’s May ..he doesn’t care what happens next year ..he just wants Clarry with a smile on his face next Saturday .

Whatever your background is you don’t coach Melb ..you’re not involved with the coaching panel in any way. Maybe before you flat out criticise the selection of the team …let’s see how they go. Maybe our coaches know a bit more about the players and their capabilities than you do. Constructive criticism is helpful but not sure why you flat out bag coach & players before game is even played ?

But we’re not a top team ..yet. We are in the process of blending our new talent with our “old” talent. Of course you don’t play the same way every week as you don’t play the same oppo every week & you may not have the same players every week. You win differently. Instead of wasting negative energy on Goodwin just try & enjoy the evolution of the team and the players. It’s actually fun

I read the interview with Fritta where he acknowledges his love for the MFC & where he wants to play his whole career with them. He also acknowledges his form slump & how he is working hard to overcome it. Once again as supporters we over analyse his game & what we perceive as lack of effort ..we never acknowledge the human side of it. He had injuries last year ..pretty serious ones & he know’s he’s not back to his best. He’s def worth giving some time too because to be honest if we go anywhere this year ..we need him.

There’s a very good article in the Hun today about Beveridge. I think we were crucified over issues last year & really JUH’s “antics” probably surpass all our issues rolled into one. My stand is still to support our coach & coaching team & let him ..the players & club be judged at the end of the year.

So Beveridge couldn’t win a friend last year ..supporters wanted him gone ..media said he was gone (multiple times) club hasn’t committed to a longer contract ..all of a sudden this year ..he’s a genius ..,parallels anyone 🤨.

Wow …so how good are we with all the above negatives to win in just one quarter & we even get 4 points for it . Have a look at all the teams ..on average most win with one exceptional quarter.

Played on the same day ..we played in 28 plus deg in the middle of the day ..they played under the roof at Marvel.

I think we are either No 1 for forward entries and 5th for Sometimes I wonder what game you watch, it’s almost how you think the game should be played not how our new gameplan will be. What stood out for me was the relentless pressure when we didn’t have the ball …sadly missing in the last few games. We had an incredibly undermanned defence but we won on effort and commitment from 23 players. We can only improve.. small steps but exciting steps

That is just embarrassing…I so hope other supporters don’t read our forum ..I mean really you are crediting the win to the supporters 🫨
