NON-MFC: Round 17
Agreed ..they have played 1 top 8 team since Rnd 11 ..they travel 7 times & I think 3 of those were at Marvel ..they have the most protected midfielder in the AFL. The next few weeks will be interesting . There has been more comment from Oppo coaches alluding to the favourable run Collingwood gets..(games at home .. umpiring etc) …I’ll reserve my judgement after the next few weeks ..my only concern is in a tight one ..they always get the 50/50 decisions .

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
In the interview Brad Green gave, he intimated we had a good senior group of players ..an up & coming very good group of younger players but maybe we were missing the 26 yr plus players. This is the age group that the Pies have topped up with …

Training Ground?
Brad Green on a very good interview with The Deebrief was very positive about Caulfield and dismissive of The Age article re funding etc. “I shake my head & wonder where they get their info from”. (Paraphrasing). It was an informative..balanced & positive interview . All our resident doomsayers will cast aspersions but it’s worth a listen.

Time to go Goody?
So Carlton has round 100,00 members ..2 Coleman medallist’s as forwards ..a Brownlow medallist in the midfield ..an All Australian fullback.., is this the measuring stick we should be aiming for ..how’s their finals record in the last 30years. Seemingly their members still sign up regardless ..

We're Not Dead Yet - The 2025 Season
In what way? They basically quote the statistic's of five or so players ..all correct & then acknowledge our new /newish players. Doesn’t say to me we should be a team that’s flying . I think West Coast could do exactly the same thing with their list. Trac is brilliant at clearances ..his kicking is dreadful ..but not sure it does anyone any good to put that in the mid season report. After all we have many posters who are more than happy to post about negatives ad nauseum. It’s quite nice to read something a little bit positive

Max Gawn shanks left - AGAIN
I’m sure I’m not the only one who heard Max say on Triple M when he said (paraphrasing) I run into goal with Chocco’s words echoing in my head on how to kick it & i automatically “shank” it”. So maybe the player not always blaming the coaching ?.

Finally some sense ..

Time to go Goody?
The “happy clappers” read the room/thread. When the usual doomsayers (who by the way weren’t too unhappy last week) have reason to vent no point in trying to post any other view. So go for it …have fun pointing every negative you can think of …not one positive in the club you follow …

CASEY: Rd 12 vs Essendon VFL
You were obviously at the game which is infinitely better than watching on tv … I was on a plane so saw very little …what position did they have Jeffo mainly playing ?

NON-MFC: Round 13
Just on the AFL summary of the Carlton v ESS game “ Carlton are moving the ball quicker than Melbourne through the corridor “ etc. Is the AFL using AI to write their game summaries ?

PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
How can you possibly correlate Dermie with Max. For a start the high performance team & all the bells & whistles that go with it were just not available in Dermies era as is the post match recovery they do today. When Max is too sore/not fit ..he will take himself out. He is coming to the end of his career and it wouldn’t serve his longevity if he’s constantly playing under duress. I mean there wouldn’t be a player out there who is not carrying something ..

PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Not sure why Jeffo has to lay tackles ..put pressure on for sure ..I mean Elliot kicked 5 goals and laid 2 tackles ...Jeffo kicked 5 & laid 1 …

TRAINING: Tuesday 3rd June 2025
I find it amazing that from watching these sessions (& kudos to you) that you come up with these assumptions. We have a high performance team who would analyse these players to the “nth degree “ and I don’t believe one bit that any training would be taken lightly. My interest in reading these reports are how the players look mentally ..how connected .,what are the vibes like. I’d be extremely surprised if you could tell us anything relating to game plan etc ..& I mean that in a nice way otherwise every club would know exactly what we’re doing …

McStay a test for this week …

Time to go Goody?
Collingwood sitting on top has 3 main forwards aged 32..31..32..a midfield consisting of a 37 yr old & 32yr old..I could go on ..they kicked 7.17 to 3/4 time with those 3 forwards playing …so a few of your points aren’t that valid …We still have 2 young forwards at Casey building form & I’m convinced they will be part of our team going forward . There were a myriad of different reasons for our poor start …

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
Interested in why you say that. I’m only going on this weeks game as I feel we are a team on the improve whilst Collingwood isn’t going to get much better. I’ll take tackles as a sign of pressure .. Pies 90 had 89 ..Roos 82 ..Forward tackles Pies 20...Roos 10. Dees 89 tackles .Syd 82…forward tackles 20..Syd 9. What the Pies..Geelong even Bris have is system. They have had the nucleus & a big nucleus of their players together for a very long time & often it’s their system that gets them over the line. Still think it may be a step too far to hold this form all the way through to a GF ..hopefully..

What are they saying at Moore Park?
Agree with the above ..that prelim in 2018 was terrifying…they were nice afterwards on the train ..saved their vitriol for Freo & the Pies. I have been many times to the SCG …just a completely different experience there … nothing like going to a game here

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
Agree with all the above but I thought this would happen (truly). We absolutely have to get synergy with May..Lever & Turner as our 3 big backs. This is the backline that we would want to be running with . When our injury list is as good as it is (at the moment) & we had such a thrilling win …it’s hard to leave anyone out. Have to trust the coaches on this one …

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
According to supporters st the Casey game he literally played 20 mins of each qrt ,,, He also said (Lever) he would play one game at Casey …if everything was ticked off with coaches ..into the firsts

NON-MFC: Round 11
Bulldogs have had one win against a top 8 side ..GWS …

Time to go Goody?
Definitely time bing81 to start that thread or maybe “Time for respect for Goody.” Goody has been an extremely honest coach. If you listen (properly) to his press conferences …pretty much everything he has said has eventuated. His new game plan is becoming more evident as it becomes more entrenched with the players & the melding of two different playing groups is starting to show & that is also because we are finally getting a more consistent playing group after slowly recovering from a raft of injuries. He has been a great “game day” coach this year and he absolutely has the playing group. This is the most exciting footy we have played since our premiership year. There will be ups and downs but I think it’s an exciting time to be a Dees supporter again ..

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
Was able to do it because McInerney wasn’t playing so it was a bonus for Max & gave him some valuable breaks

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
So glad you mentioned that ..Harris Andrews looked the worst. On the Brisbane forum they mentioned the design several times ..hysterical

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
I said to my partner I thought they were using Maxy sparingly and saving him for a Herculean effort in the last quarter as it has been a weakness. Have no idea if this was right but he certainly had an incredible last quarter .
