  1. I get trained by an ex Collingwood player who ..yes ..was under Buckley . Still has strong links with the club. I’ll be having a very interesting chat today. From memory I don’t think there were a lot of positives but I may be wrong as it is awhile ago. My partner is Collingwood & was happy to see Bucks go. Brilliant in the Media & whilst I don’t watch Footy shows anymore I enjoyed his analysis. I’d be happy if that’s where he stayed.
  2. Wow so Goody’s gone & you now attack a senior player a day after gut wrenching news. Do we just need to keep finding people to blame ?
  3. I agree … so much arrogance from a supporter base who assume that with the team we had we should have won multiple premierships. Fact is this just doesn’t happen. It took us 7 years under Simon to win our first & we were effectively 4 years into our next challenge & I honestly felt we were a year or two away from challenging for our next . Not sure now ..
  4. My sentiments have been put so eloquently by previous posters. I don’t think I have ever been so disappointed in the club as I was today. Goody should have seen out the season. As fans who love the club we will embrace change but I’m forever grateful that I saw some of the most exciting finals & a GF that will go down in history. Thanks Goody ❤️💙
  5. You’re quite shocked …pleeease. We have absolutely justified the wider football community calling our club a basket case because the way we have handled this is appalling. I was firmly in the camp of Goody seeing out the season but now we will be front & centre of the media in all facets for the wrong reasons. So now “ all us happy clappers” who continually have to justify our optimism can read all you “negative Nellie’s” justify your opinions next season. For a start we should have increased membership at the start of the season and of course huge crowds. One of the more ridiculous comments I have read. What about shocked ..gutted ..disrespected ? That makes sense
  6. That sounds good ..won a Premiership in his second year & then coached another 12 years with out another. I wonder how long it would be till you turned on him ? I could also throw in Simpson..Hinkley ..Beveridge ..
  7. Maybe because you wait till he’s ready ..
  8. Question: is there any correlation in the fact that we have maybe round a third of our list that is young & do not have AFL hardened bodies. We all know players need a few preseasons to build their bodies for the rigours of the game. Consequently we maybe don’t look as fit as other teams. Our senior players probably won’t get any fitter /faster (Max is the outlier) & we lack in the middle tier type of player. Also thank you for your positivity..I’m O/S & so missed game …looked a couple of times at D/L & retreated very quickly. Caveat: to all the negative Nellie’s ..I am asking a question…not making a statement of fact.
  9. The tenet of the topic is Time to go Goody with a question mark. To me that is asking a question. You & others think he should & others think he shouldn’t. So we are all answering the question with our opinions. Maybe if you didn’t constantly allude to the fact that anyone positive is either a “Happy Clapper” or a misguide fool we could have had a more balanced discussion.. ?
  10. Upheld
  11. Plus we re/sign arguably one of the best young players for 9 years ..says something about our club
  12. Yep ..there is ..we are getting better..the players are adapting to the game plan & as they do ..everyone & everything improves. Far from a finished product but the players were up & about on Sunday .. connected with each other & the coach. You’ve gone so far down the rabbit hole of negativity that you refuse to acknowledge any positives. Maybe stay of this topic… plenty of other topics you can vent your nonsense..
  13. So you aren’t prepared to see the obvious improvements in our game plan come to fruition in 2026 & then judge Goody? But you’d be happy to see a new coach come in ..with new ideas ..new assistant coaches & then have to build a relationship with the playing list (who by the way are 100%behind our coach ) and basically we start again..not sure of the logic behind that. I’d say out of the 9 games played on the weekend ..way less than half were of great quality for 4 quarters . It was a very good win in the end.
  14. Fantastic ..,guess we won’t be reading you in 2026
  15. Carlton players to lift for Voss after that disgusting “murder slur” which ..”surprise ..surprise” was by a Collingwood member.
  16. We could talk “ad nauseum “ about the inequalities of the AFL. It’s a bit like society..the rich get richer ..the poor get poorer and the middle class cops it. I am still passionate about the MFC but I have lost passion for AFL in general …
  17. 😂
  18. In all seriousness…in footy and even in life ..you plan …you train and it all looks pretty good. Then comes the intangibles which you can’t control …key injuries at the wrong time ..players just simply out of form …& to quote Goody simply trying to meld the old & young with a new game plan. I’m totally disappointed with the season because I reckon if one of Trac or Clarry had played to their potential & if one of May or Lever didn’t get injured ,.I firmly believe that would have been enough to make the 8 but I had no illusions that we would go deep, I have seen enough of our game plan to see an exciting 2026 going forward. What is irrefutable is that Goody has the players back & they have Goody’s back. Put me in the “hand clapping majority”.. I don’t really care. I truly believe Goody will be coach next year.
  19. What you fail to understand is that “true” supporters also like to look for positives & hope. That does not mean we don’t get bitterly disappointed when we lose or we don’t question the coaches but you seem to think your analysis of a “true” supporter means you must show negativity and blame. Goody will be coach next season and who knows how many pages this embarrassing thread will be up to by seasons end ..guess it just makes you feel better and “cranky”.
  20. In all fairness..you must give Trac & Oliver a full preseason before writing them off. I don’t need to mention the issues last year for Trac & a couple of years for Clarry. I think you forget that May snapped his plantar ..it’s not healed ..he would play under enormous duress which is why he’s inconsistent. He’s written off by many one week & then brings it on the weekend. You only have to listen to Turner to see who he credits for his development. Viney had a pretty serious rib injury ..then concussion but his last couple of games have been pretty good. Max ..no more needs to be said. Salo does his job as does Langdon. I’m pretty confident they’ll hold up …def for next year & I also think Melky will be good to go for 1 more ..
  21. Agreed ..they have played 1 top 8 team since Rnd 11 ..they travel 7 times & I think 3 of those were at Marvel ..they have the most protected midfielder in the AFL. The next few weeks will be interesting . There has been more comment from Oppo coaches alluding to the favourable run Collingwood gets..(games at home .. umpiring etc) …I’ll reserve my judgement after the next few weeks ..my only concern is in a tight one ..they always get the 50/50 decisions .
  22. In the interview Brad Green gave, he intimated we had a good senior group of players ..an up & coming very good group of younger players but maybe we were missing the 26 yr plus players. This is the age group that the Pies have topped up with …
  23. Brad Green on a very good interview with The Deebrief was very positive about Caulfield and dismissive of The Age article re funding etc. “I shake my head & wonder where they get their info from”. (Paraphrasing). It was an informative..balanced & positive interview . All our resident doomsayers will cast aspersions but it’s worth a listen.
  24. So Carlton has round 100,00 members ..2 Coleman medallist’s as forwards ..a Brownlow medallist in the midfield ..an All Australian fullback.., is this the measuring stick we should be aiming for ..how’s their finals record in the last 30years. Seemingly their members still sign up regardless ..
  25. In what way? They basically quote the statistic's of five or so players ..all correct & then acknowledge our new /newish players. Doesn’t say to me we should be a team that’s flying . I think West Coast could do exactly the same thing with their list. Trac is brilliant at clearances ..his kicking is dreadful ..but not sure it does anyone any good to put that in the mid season report. After all we have many posters who are more than happy to post about negatives ad nauseum. It’s quite nice to read something a little bit positive
