After Round 3 I couldn’t say with any certainty that any current side will be top 4 . So much angst after our win against Brisbane yet they nearly knocked off Port on Port’s deck without their Captain....Richmond got towelled up by an undermanned Adelaide ....many fancied teams are winless & other maligned teams are doing better. What it says to me that it is only Round 3 & pretty much most teams will improve & some won’t. We have incredible depth ...lots of new players & at the moment it is all about getting used to each other.....different running patterns etc .....with continued game time players confidence & abilities improve & there will be very exciting times ahead. We won’t get it right all the time but we will get it right more often than not. With so many young players with so much improvement and growing to come ....I fail to see how you can state already that we won’t be top 4. Until it is a mathematical impossibility.....the sky is the limit for me.

It was interesting hearing Jono Brown on radio today “raving”about Jordan’s game....I believe Jones also “lauded” him in his presser. In the eye of the beholder” I guess ?

Such ridiculous statements ...you are not the coach or coaching panel..have no idea what they want implemented behind closed doors ...we have heaps of improvement to make & with a team full of young players that is what we will get. We won the game ..we are seeing a team that had new set ups & new players & two very important players missing ...learning to work & gell together. I am happy as a supporter to watch this team develop & improve ...it’s a very long season so let’s save our angst for when it is genuinely deserved...we are in the 8 at the end of Rd 2 ....pretty happy with that !!

We go to brisbane as a team who are predicted to make the top 8 & win over a team who are touted as being bottom 4 ...ess who are predicted by many to be top 4 go to Freo who are also predicted to be bottom 4 & they lose ... who should be happier ... Melb or ess supporters...I’m happy ?

Aaah ... we actually won...save the wristslashing for later in the year...have a look at the results so far ...not too many supporters of any team would be “over the moon” ..the best part of our team is we will only get better ....so “cool your jets “

And by the way ..,ess being flogged by Freo....ess predicted to finish higher than us....an away game .,always harder to win ...celebrate our win ...,it is still 4 pts ...very important

I will absolutely take this win....an up & coming team on their home deck ....horrible conditions...please don’t talk about their outs because our outs more than compensate theirs. I always worry when we play up & coming home teams on their own deck early in the season...we are also a fairly young team who will improve as the season goes ...so yes I am ecstatic we won !! It is 4 points !!! The best part Hogan ...Oliver ...etc ...go dees

Maybe it should be “how good our players are” you can make all the changes you like but ultimately it is up to the 22 who take the field & are ultimately a far more talented list than Brisbane have at present.

I have to be in Canberra when game is on ...does anyone have any idea where they would show AFL ?

We did have 8 tackles in our forward 50 & Geelong had zero.....apart from that agree that our delivery into our forward 50 was ordinary but our defence was horrible in the first half

In defence to Saty.....Gary Lyon himself stated that he was chatting to Tod Viney at training 6 weeks ago (as mates) & he said that Jack was right on track. Something obviously flared up after that. However personal attacks against posters in general (not just Saty) remind me a bit of the very topical Aus cricket team. Can we leave the “sledging” out of it & just talk about the team & team performance. I disagree quite vehemently with the “hand ringers & doomsayers” but respect they are entitled to express their opinions & have a place to vent. It becomes incredibly childish & vindictive on this forum when we lose ......

A season isn’t defined by one game petracca ...Oliver & Gawn were brilliant still looking forward to watching the continued development of our new brigade

What this game said to me ...tigers won the premiership with a very soft draw & an injury free list ...take one player out of their side ...Dustin Martin....& they are gone !!! Also apply that to Essendon & remove Daniher & the same scenario occurs ...I am not going to mention the name of the player that Melb could ill afford to lose ...(he is very tall), however very confident we cover all other positions ...Go Dees

What a ridiculous statement........there is no way anybody....no matter the medical qualifications they have can predict the exact return of a player from an injury......standard injuries....normal hamstring etc ....mandatory 3 weeks....however we are all individuals & no-one can predict how the body will react to different stressses.....so stop talking about conspiracy theories & just respect the medical experts & their professional judgements ....I would rather have Jack back fit even if it’s Round 5 rather than “in his words” not respecting his body enough & came back too early” .

I think you will find that”laconic” is an adjective describing person..speech ..style of writing so quite correct to use it as Saty did...didn’t see the point of raising the issue really ...”nitpicking “ come to mind ??

I just watched the north game & the hawks Gf......Wagner hit every target & marked or received every ball that was sent his way......what were you watching ?

Being a kiwi & just returning from a couple of weeks holidays there .....he would have purchased black & white because it’s NZ national colours.....def not because it’s Collingwood

I would imagine that everything involved with an AFL club is an exact science. They don’t train on a Saturday here and their training loads etc would be replicated to the enth degree of what they do in Melb. If I want to go to a training session in Melb I would have to take time off and my kids would have to take time off school (barring school hols). If you have one opportunity to see the team you follow ......I would be taking time off if possible. I am not going to argue the science of the game as I am not privy to all that and don’t have the knowledge but I would rather they do what they feel they need to do to be successful than fit into supporters schedules....sorry ?

I personally don’t care what perception outsiders have of our club......they know very little of the “in’s & outs” of MFC & so jump on the drivel that’s spewed out by media desperate for a headline. I mentioned this before...(.it seems such a long time ago) ....Christian Salem said it was an absolute beat up by the media and that if the coaches had wanted them to do the camp...they would have done it.....they were all on the same page!!!! (I asked him the question & he answered it unequivocally) It is such a non-issue so let’s all move on

If you need to feel better...read other clubs forums where a lot of “star” players are on modified programs ...relax a little...rather have him mid year fit than push him to play...we are not a one man team ...that is absolutely Goodwins philosophy!!

Ask yourselves this ...if your daughter/sister...friend etc was the victim of this “alleged “ complaint but chose not to pursue it through the courts and put herself through even more angst and degradation but instead went to the “employer” of her “alleged “ attacker & stated her case & then asked them to investigate & to see if the “employee “ fits into the standards & ethics that the organisation stands for then so be it... I can absolutely understand a woman not wanting to drag this through a court but the investigation will be thorough & just because it won’t go to court doesn’t mean that the “alleged” offender should get off scott free... surely any self respecting individual would want some form of justice? I would be extremely surprised if the AFL or the club will make any of this public & neither should they ...but don’t kid yourselves that this is a lot of “nothing “

Phew ...we need a lot then !! I prefer to look at it this way....there will obviously be natural improvements in the majority of our young team...that is a given...Lever ..massive tick...given ..max is fit & has the capacity to be a No 1 ruckman again ...given & we already have the depth...the only thing I see that could derail our 2018 agenda is injuries & that is the word that every club dreads ...not just Melb. And before I get shot down in flames by the perennial pessimists ...my basis for this argument ...Richmond ...no key injuries all year ...very unlikely GFinalists...check the injury lists & outs for the other contenders ...rest my case !!
