POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
We were ahead for over 60% of the game so why do you say that? Last week we played far better football & lost but should have won. This week we hung in there âŠCarlton played out of their skins & either team could have won. We were not lucky ..we deserved the win

POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Two players who won the game Hunt & Melky âŠno coincidence that they are desperate to play in a GF. Hopefully it now spurs the rest of the team to play the footy we train to play âŠfinals footy

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Goody said it perfectly in the presser âŠevery supporter..coach & player should be filthy with that loss . Iâm always super positive but to see our team so dominant & not capitalise on the scoreboard was galling. Of course theyâre always going to get the ârub of the greenâ but really with our dominance..shouldnât have mattered. As the reporter in the presser saidâŠif you looked at the stat sheet ..should have been a 4 to 5 goal win to us. If we showed half the intent they did it would have been a 10 goal win. So angry. It will also be a very long time till I go to another game against the Pies. It is so unpleasant from the very start. If we donât pick up our attitudeâŠit doesnât look promising!

CHANGES: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Do you also forget that May wasnât playing âŠPetty of and onâŠlost Turner early to concussion & Max had done his ankle and probably should have been off. QB always seems to be in a loading phase as well. Itâs very hard to replace players in real game time. Think we have the players this time to give us the win .

NON-MFC: Round 19, 2022
They have also won every game after ours by roughly a goal or less ..the teams that they best are in bottom 4 or close to it & I think all season apart from Adelaide & GC Suns away their wins have all been at the G. They also (like our run last year ) have had a very good injury run. We will see where they are after the last 4 games of the season. Given their finish last year they were afforded an easier draw âŠdrawing twice ..many of the lower placed sides. I am still out on how good they are . I also realise we will see how good we are after the next 4 games. Pretty sure the pies last 4 games are all at the G whilst we travel to OS the last of a 6 game hiatus from the G & then finish away . A tough draw with no favours for the reigning premiers. Still if weâre good enough weâll do ok

CASEY: Rd 18 vs Footscray
I would come regularly to Demonland to read your posts. Had a good laugh & enjoyed your very well articulated responses to the negative hysteria we inevitably get whee we n a game is close or we lose . Posters should note thatâs is possible to get your point across without demeaning & vitriolic replies. Well done !!

SO ITS COME TO THIS
My take on the season & how it is unfolding 1. InjuriesâŠthe type of player we have lost & also injuries in games have hurt us badly this season âŠdidnât have that issue last season . That has meant players in different positions or playing in different structures which brings a lot of different pressures. Players missing big chunks of the season will take quite a few weeks to pick up their game form & there are no easy games to do it in. You canât change your whole game plan because we lost TMac so itâs figuring out in season the best options. Also VFL this season is def below par & so to me it makes sense to play Gawn & Jacko into form in the AFL. I watch the VFL closely and am a tad reluctant to get too carried away with players form in that comp 2. Every team has had 6 months to study us & work out a plan to beat us. We are the Premiers & the Hunted & nearly every team we have played this season has played out of their skins. So the players have to learn a different type of mental resilience & pressure along with getting themselves up every week. I donât think itâs a surprise that our younger players are often in our bottom 6 or so. 3. Of course there is loading etc which is just another factor and would contribute in some way to our current form. I absolutely believe we are a â work in progressâ and donât doubt the belief and talent of our coaches and fitness staff âŠthey gave us probably the hardest premiership to win & deserve our support. Itâs a really tough year and will things turn âŠI hope so. Have no doubt that when MFC is on we are still the team to beat . Our form in the last 4 games of the season will give us the answers.

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Geelong
That wasnât the point ⊠if you are able to go & choose to go.. I still applaud that ⊠Iâm guessing you go to support your team & if it boosts Geelongâs coffers âŠso be it .. not all games are our home games & Iâm very happy that our supporters go to games at oppo venues to support our team !

Agree âŠalso Langdon irrelevant. Such a narrow ground makes the wings irrelevant. You canât change your game plan to suit I ground . Letâs see how Geelong goes on the MCG

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Geelong
This is a part of an article written by The Mongrel Punt on the Adelaide v Melb game. I found it interesting reading comments by independent commentators. "Matching them up, they attended a similar number of ruck contests, but that is where the comparison stops. ROB got 48 hit outs from his 70 contests, 16 to advantage while Weideman's 73 contests. netted only 11 hit outs with four to the advantage of his own team. The story is the same for practically all key stats, with O'Brien pantsing Weideman in clearances, tackles, marks, disposals, metres gained, intercepts and even free kicks. Having said all that, Weideman would have known that he was probably not going to win the taps going into the game, so it looked like he intentionally put his body into spaces that O'Brien was looking to use to tap to his mids, while the Melbourne midfield looked to steal the ball as it was tapped down, which they did so very effectively. So while I'm giving O'Brien the nod as a pure ruckman, the way Weideman was able to work with his midfield was everything that Melbourne could have wanted from him in terms of outcome. He still needs to watch some undisciplined play that gave away free kicks, but as a role player, he did very well and will likely be congratulated in the Monday game review."

De Goey is the New Story
Iâll try to believe you are not serious. He is paid by a club whose members put their hard earned dollar in to support said club ! 1 âŠdonât care whether itâs consenting adults or not âŠit is a shocking look from an AFL player in the middle of a season off his face & exhibiting offensive behaviour 2âŠyou can pontificate all you like about whether AFL players are role players âŠbut whatever arguments are thrown up âŠthey are . Drunk offensive young men who are excused because they âare having funâ become men who think being a [censored] with women is acceptable.

Caro Apologise to Dees Fans
With what I rememberâŠthe only games that stand out to me with oppo supporters booing us is EssendonâŠthey are by far the biggest whingerâs. Collingwood are just quite frankly in a category of their own

GAMEDAY: Rd 12 vs Sydney
Wonder how many Weid /Brown comparisons weâll have by the end of the match. Maybe we can just laud the good play rather than sniping at someone whoâs not playing.,,

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
Hmm. If we had gone into the game without May & then having to deal with Petty struggling with a kneeâŠmaybe we would be better prepared. Throw in no Langdon..Trac struggling with flu..& a raft of young players going from trying to win to now being hunted every week ..that takes time to adjust and learn. We still have one of the youngest teams going round & consistency takes time to build. In this system of equalisation I donât believe we will ever have a team that goes through undefeated. Our stretch of 17 wins is phenomenal & I still believe in Goodwinâ s mantra of building a team to win finals. I think this will be our hardest year âŠmy only concern is our tall forwards but I think I felt the same last year . Is this the time we do our ramped up training ?
