    A very accurate summation

Ridiculous comment ...you play who is out there ...they kicked some ā€œarseyā€ goals & if we had kicked some extremely ā€œgettableā€ goals in the first qrt ...we would have been well in control before their injuries hit.

I agree...I don’t think they are anywhere near a flag year but they always have a. ā€œRed hot goā€. I wonder however with the off season dramas which have been well documented...it might have an effect on the playing list. Buckley also seems ā€œ differentā€ & would not be at all surprised if things go pear shaped that he would just walk. They have a pretty easy run ahead ..West Coast at Optus the most challenging...however they could easily win 4 of those !

Haven’t heard one football commentator (including Kane Cornes) heap nothing but praise on Max’s game . Of particular note was his running to spots especially in the back line to help out. Lever & May were a bit fumbly in the marking & Max was supreme. He is at the moment the premier ruckman so I would think the other ruckman have to challenge him not the other way round !!
  5. Great & positive analysis...so unusual for this site . Hopefully without the blustery wind at the MCG not a factor ...we will kick a little better ...ours for the taking !
  6. Loved the game...the intent & the joy they have in playing !! Great win !!
  7. We are now not a ā€œslowā€ team. Even Balme & Gale acknowledged the fact after our practice game both saying ā€œwe were noticeably quickerā€. That was without Pickett. You seem to be pedantic for the sake of it. I think ANB is a solid contributor & also seems to be a very popular team mate but unless he has a form resurgence...I can see a few other up & comers replace him. When Tim Lamb was talking about Sparrow, Chandler & Jordan ..he mentioned how they are now 3 year players with lots of upside . Pickett is just coming into his second season & I believe he has enormous upside & can’t understand the harsh judgment so early . I would prefer to take Jordan Lewis’s opinion than someone who spouts pretty meaningless stats !!
  8. I think it was Rd 6 last year before Weideman played his first game. T. McDonald was already struggling & Jackson had played just a few games as had Kozzie. This year we still don’t have Weideman but will get B.Brown back in the first half of the year...we have a more experienced Jackson..Gawn who isn’t carrying a bit of a ā€œkneeā€ & if we are to believe what we hear , McDonald is going pretty well. Also Vanders & Smith have a year under their belt after missing over a year. All of this has to translate onto game day but we may not need to be so pessimistic.
  9. Good to see Brayshaw in footy boots ...Viney still in runners but looks to be moving well (only photos I know) . I’m happy we have got insurance in Majek...already looks like Preuss will miss opening games & with one of the other up & coming rucks injured...their ruck stocks are pretty thin. A lot of clubs will have a few players missing in first few rounds so glad we have been proactive..
  10. They was so good to watch ...they have improved enormously & you can certainly see the difference when the teams that were the inauguration teams play. I can honestly say there is a great future for AFLW !!!
  11. Such criticism for a player entering just his 2nd year of AFL. From memory Cyril was never a 4 quarter player but could win a game in a quarter. If Lewis is seeing some of those attributes...then very happy with that ! To me who judged his first season as just that ...I believe he has enormous upside which we will see building over the next few seasons.
  12. Myself & my son received ours in Dec before xmas. I only paid for mine in November ...my son earlier ...
  13. I believe Hardwick made finals in his 4th year of coaching & there was plenty of angst amongst Richmond supporters regarding his coaching . He had plenty of ā€œups & downsā€. I think Goodwin deserves 2021 before he is judged quite so harshly...
  14. Great appointment. He will be fantastic with the young players ...was a very talented player & just a great bloke. I’m really happy we have got him & think he will do well.
  15. I absolutely agree with this. I just listened to Oscar on the radio & he spoke so well about the club & the handling of his delisting. I just hope he never read the vitriol spouted about him ...I shudder to think who will be the next unfortunate player who gets ā€œdumpedā€ on now he had gone. I sometimes think we forget that the players are just young men who play to the best of their ability but unfortunately we expect them to play to our expectations & they often don’t marry up !
  16. He absolutely has to get fit. He was definitely a bit ā€œchubbyā€ this year but I’m giving everyone a pass because of the nature of the season but he needs to have a ā€œTracā€ type of preseason because he could be anything ..I’ll back in Roos opinion of him !
  17. So telling Adam Treloar that he was not wanted by senior players wasn’t his ā€œproblemā€ ?
  18. Agreed...an extremely high footy IQ & you can’t teach that. If he had kicked even half of his missed goals this would be an entirely different thread. He took Maynard out of the game against the Pies & played a brilliant defensive role against Nick Haynes who I thought was one of GWS best players this year.

Who still has a bottle of the Woewodin port in their liquor cabinet ?

Agreed...I’m pretty sure that Brisbane played outside Qld twice & had a very healthy list & ditto Port who spent most of their time in Adelaide with 2 home finals & a full list to pick from. Both teams will never have this advantage again & yet neither are playing in a GF. We on the other hand travelled all over Aust & played at the most stadiums. Hopefully this will hold us in good stead next season. Go Cats (not sure I mean that but anything better than Richmond)

From someone who was there ...with coach (bus) issues ...we arrived about an hour before Sydney game !!
  22. So harsh on Jones & McDonald. I’ve just watched reply & without the emotion you can be more measured in your comments. Sure Jones coughed up some crucial disposals but he sure wasn’t alone there. Apart from those there was nothing wrong with his game. Oscar is so maligned ....I think the Saints forwards got maybe 4 goals & Oscar wasn’t responsible for one. The goal Membrey got ...he couldn’t have done a lot with that. He at different stages covered Membrey/Ryder & Marshall. Even when May was on Marshall in the last part of the game he was out marked twice. He also allows May & Lever play their game. For those who stated without May & Trac we would have lost...how many times has Dusty, Danger,Fyfe & to a lesser extent Bont dragged their teams over the line. That’s what X factor players do & we finally have one. We did to the Saints what Geelong did to us ...it was ugly but we won. One of the best games from Tomlinson & thought Vanders last qrt was pretty good. We are a young team in terms of building synergy but we have a core of I believe 15 straight up best 22...it’s working who our bottom 6 are & with a healthy list we will play around a bit with that. Anyway I will always err on the side of positivity because I’m so sick of the repetitive boring negativity. Go Dees ?ā¤ļø?ā¤ļø?
  23. I’d much prefer to beat teams either in the eight or vying for the eight than beat up on teams whose seasons are finished. What confidence would we have in our team with that type of form ?
  24. So I guess you now don’t rate Port...Saints & GWS as plenty of ā€œsoft underbellies ā€œ in those 3 games ?
  25. Grundy to me has looked tired the last couple of games & after a four day break will def not be the Grundy of old. They are also missing 4 key players ...I’d be disappointed if we don’t put them away even without Gawn.
