  1. She has gone to see her daughter in Amsterdam who has given birth & it was a rush as there were a few worries. Should be back in a week or two .,,
  2. Didn’t play...elbow injury
  3. I think it is offensive to say “Jones dumped” just as it was equally offensive to say before his 300th that he was was a “perennial “ loser. He is a 33 yr old ...had a huge few weeks...surely “ managed” is appropriate.
  4. If we win against north & are clear top of the ladder...is that the first time in Nathan Jones career that Melbourne has been on top of the ladder ?
  5. Can’t believe that Goody hasn’t even been questioned...unbelievably rude...Robbo is so ignorant!!
  6. He is absolutely not the difference between us winning or losing that game. You have an extremely short memory if you don’t think our heart & soul ex Captain doesn’t deserve this game. He was the one reason that I went to the football at times. He deserves this honour ?❤️?❤️ j
  7. Always think the new in’s need a qrt to pick up the pace of the game & their place in the game. Thought all 3 ins and the team started to get a bit more cohesion in the 3rd qrt & broke them down in the fourth. Was Petty off inj in the last ?
  8. I think it may have been Goody/Gawn who stated that with up to six players having none or one rotation it allows around 70 rotations to be shared by other players. Great benefit to the team.
  9. Happy to give him a pass with it being his first game & also horrendous conditions. However would have to show marked improvement next week. On song his delivery into the forward line is a weapon & he was generally a good shot for goal.
  10. It was reported off a news feed which is why i prefaced it with “apparently” however Dermie also alluded to the fact that he hoped it wasn’t a broken eye socket with the amount of bleeding. Not on here to score points ..I would be devastated if he misses weeks but would think if it was a couple of stitches ..they could have possibly done that at the ground. Let’s hope for the best possible outcome.
  11. Let’s hope against hope it’s not that bad but I think from the presser Goodie had some idea it wasn’t good news. At least once it settles down he should be able to keep up fitness levels etc with no contact to the head but have no idea what this type of injury means in terms of rehab
  12. Apparently broken orbital bone ..2-4months
  13. Celebrated the Fremantle win in the Frank Grey Bar on Level 3 till 5pm when the bar closed ...
  14. They did that to us last time we played them. Took huge amount of marks & slowed our game right down. Made it a very unattractive game to watch . Shouldn’t work this time round .
  15. Not sure I stated anywhere that we “ played a complete game”. We are a long way from our full potential which is exciting. We also fielded 5 players with very limited AFL experience but with enormous upside. My point was enjoy the wins ..we all know we have huge challenges ahead but I believe the team has enormous upside. The difference to me was even though we are not yet playing our best...there is a maturity there that hasn’t been seen before. I agree with a comment that Nick Riewoldt said...with the game as it is today.. you only have to be a little off & teams whether they’re well below or above you will run over you. So maybe don’t expect us to be playing our very best footy 3 games in. It will evolve!!
  16. A very accurate summation
  17. Ridiculous comment ...you play who is out there ...they kicked some “arsey” goals & if we had kicked some extremely “gettable” goals in the first qrt ...we would have been well in control before their injuries hit.
  18. I agree...I don’t think they are anywhere near a flag year but they always have a. “Red hot go”. I wonder however with the off season dramas which have been well documented...it might have an effect on the playing list. Buckley also seems “ different” & would not be at all surprised if things go pear shaped that he would just walk. They have a pretty easy run ahead ..West Coast at Optus the most challenging...however they could easily win 4 of those !
  19. Haven’t heard one football commentator (including Kane Cornes) heap nothing but praise on Max’s game . Of particular note was his running to spots especially in the back line to help out. Lever & May were a bit fumbly in the marking & Max was supreme. He is at the moment the premier ruckman so I would think the other ruckman have to challenge him not the other way round !!
  20. Great & positive analysis...so unusual for this site . Hopefully without the blustery wind at the MCG not a factor ...we will kick a little better ...ours for the taking !
  21. Loved the game...the intent & the joy they have in playing !! Great win !!
  22. We are now not a “slow” team. Even Balme & Gale acknowledged the fact after our practice game both saying “we were noticeably quicker”. That was without Pickett. You seem to be pedantic for the sake of it. I think ANB is a solid contributor & also seems to be a very popular team mate but unless he has a form resurgence...I can see a few other up & comers replace him. When Tim Lamb was talking about Sparrow, Chandler & Jordan ..he mentioned how they are now 3 year players with lots of upside . Pickett is just coming into his second season & I believe he has enormous upside & can’t understand the harsh judgment so early . I would prefer to take Jordan Lewis’s opinion than someone who spouts pretty meaningless stats !!
  23. I think it was Rd 6 last year before Weideman played his first game. T. McDonald was already struggling & Jackson had played just a few games as had Kozzie. This year we still don’t have Weideman but will get B.Brown back in the first half of the year...we have a more experienced Jackson..Gawn who isn’t carrying a bit of a “knee” & if we are to believe what we hear , McDonald is going pretty well. Also Vanders & Smith have a year under their belt after missing over a year. All of this has to translate onto game day but we may not need to be so pessimistic.
  24. Good to see Brayshaw in footy boots ...Viney still in runners but looks to be moving well (only photos I know) . I’m happy we have got insurance in Majek...already looks like Preuss will miss opening games & with one of the other up & coming rucks injured...their ruck stocks are pretty thin. A lot of clubs will have a few players missing in first few rounds so glad we have been proactive..
  25. They was so good to watch ...they have improved enormously & you can certainly see the difference when the teams that were the inauguration teams play. I can honestly say there is a great future for AFLW !!!
