  1. In regards to monumental errors by wives, I imagine Cotchin will be copping plenty on Sunday night. I can see Kennedy, Kent and Viney getting stuck into him big time. I really hope we come out and rough them up a bit (fairly of course).
  2. Stick with him Django, reckon he will explode over the coming weeks. I've got him in my Ultimate footy draft league so I feel your pain!
  3. I thought his game on the weekend was quite strong and he looked more comfortable. Personally I'm happy to leave him there rotating on the wings with Vince. Plus with his hamstring problems last season he may not be quite ready for a full midfield role.
  4. It was fitting that his first game against us was similar to the majority of games he played for us..... He will have the odd game where he has 20 touches and kicks 3 goals but these are too few and far between. Getting a guy like Kennedy who gives his all every game is so much more valuable than the odd highlight from Howe!
  5. Are you serious? Since Dunn has come into our side we've looked a lot stronger in defence as well as with Wagner as the 3rd medium tall. The only way Garland is getting back in IMO is if one of those guys get injured. He is a depth player.
  6. Really hope people start signing on! You can see where the club is heading and though not perfect we are playing some great footy. Should really be cracking the 40K and will be disappointed if we don't!
  7. I was watching on TV and remember seeing this and thinking how good he was in that passage of play, had 3-4 follow up efforts. I think they are managing him from game to game depending on the situation so this week they din't feel they needed to play him in the guts as much. I would definitely play him in the guts this weekend as the Tigers are soft in the middle and every time we beat them it's because we are harder at the ball and man.
  8. Pretty frustrating.... he is the King of making statements and then the opposite happening. Maybe he should just be quiet.....
  9. I'm really looking forward to the day they completely drop off a cliff and fall back to the bottom. Have the oldest list and are not likely to win the flag.
  10. I think it was more the amount of ball he was getting as well. He took something like 15 marks! I agree with you though our midfield was the reason we lost. They were smashed so badly the last time I can remember being that comprehensively beaten in the midfield would be the Neeld era or at least Roos first year.
  11. I could not bring myself to read Burgo's article as I'm sick of excuses. Everyone at the club, players, coaches, media should have said we played poorly and Essendon played well and we will rectify it. None of these excuses about being tired, or big headed- just accept the loss and work to get better.
  12. Getting away from the result which was obviously a disgrace, not much has been mentioned of Brayshaw's first quarter goal. That was a snap from 50m of one step! He was obviously badly underdone and probably shouldn't have played but that goal shows just how talented that guy is. The only way for us to get better is for all these talented young guys to keep working hard and begin to take the reins of this club as leaders.
  13. He definitely had it easy on the weekend with pretty much none of our players manning up on any Bombers players. I imagine in a hot game in the middle we will get smashed by the bigger bodies. I much prefer Oliver as he will be a midfield beast once he gets his fitness levels up a bit.
  14. I'd go one further and request no more fluff pieces about winning two in a row, or how we feel we have improved over the pre season. Just get out there and play the game at 100% and I'll be happy. So sick of bullsh*t articles.
  15. It was actually more a negative than positive.... I'd much rather turn up knowing we would play the same week in week out but unfortunately that's not the Melbourne way....
  16. This is the team I'd play for this weekend (injuries permitting). I know this won't be the team picked as for some reason certain players are gifted games but I guess I wish this would be the team. B: Jetta Dunn O Mac HB: Vince T Mac Salem C: Stretch Viney Kennedy HF: Watts Frost Vandenberg F: Garlett Hogan Kent R: Gawn Tyson N. Jones Int: Bugg Neal-Bullen Oliver M. Jones
  17. There's a difference between being able to run fast and breaking through the defence using quick ball movement. I know Lumumba won't be dropped but I really struggle to see how anyone could think he had a good game? He literally runs past a guy, gains about 15m and then bombs it to a pack of 4 or 5. The ball is either punched over the line or it's mopped up by the opposition. We looked so much more dangerous without him running it out of defence.
  18. A lot of teams have been extremely disappointing round 2 (us included). I wonder if the decision to play everyone for all NAB games plus then Round 1 affected us for yesterdays game? I hate making excuses but I'm just trying to understand how an AFL side can come out and look so underwhelming.
  19. Yeah I thought that was the case. I'm not a fan of the AFL website one. I'll be moving to Super Coach next season then! I'll have to start from the bottom and work my way up to the top league again!
  20. In all fairness although they had more scoring shots and we had more inside 50's, so were just as wasteful as the Giants. Really hoping we destroy the Bombers!
  21. I agree. I was amazed we didn't try and pick up another back up ruckman during the off season. Daniel Currie, Jonathan Giles or even an experienced bloke in the VFL. I would imagine they must have their eye on someone for this off season as we just can't risk going into more seasons with Gawn, Spencer and the two Kings!
  22. Can we get some New Era ones made up? *Tongue in cheek
  23. I reckon it would've been one of the years that the GC or GWS first started.
  24. If we can somehow lure Hurley over it would be a massive get. Although Dunn and Garland are OK players I still think we are a bit weak in the tall defender department. Adding Hurley would give us one of the strongest back lines in the competition. We also need to look for some speedy, skillful outside runners as we still lack a bit of pace at times. We've got enough explosive contested ball winners now, though I'm always happy to get more if Prestia wanted to join us. Exciting times ahead let's hope we can land a medium to large fish at the end of the season to catapult us into the finals!
