The saying refers to the idea that you can't eat your cake, but also keep it at the same time. So in reference to the camp and mental toughness, we can't expect to improve the mental toughness without risking some injuries.
-
How about we all eat that cake after our next premiership?
-
I find it funny that a lot of posters on here have lamented our soft mental state in games over the past few years. Then when the coaches run a tough camp to try and improve the mental toughness of our side, the same posters are questioning whether we should do it. You can't have your cake and eat it to.....

New Balance sign on for 3 more years

Great news. I hope we get more 70% off deals this year!! -
Probably the most important aspect of our debt is what portion is funding income generating assets compared to non-income generating. With interest rates at all time lows it is a great time to be investing in projects that can generate an income for the club.

Are we better after trade period?

And he can mark.... -
I would think the large majority would hate that white guernsey. I understand that we need a white guernsey as per the rules and it's fine I can live with that. What I can't live with is some absolutely disgraceful effort to design a clash guernsey. It is honestly laughable and whoever approved it should have a hard look at themselves.

Melbourne just posted a picture of Lewis on instagram. Looks good in Red & Blue! -
I emailed the club and told them that! It is seriously an abomination.
-
I did write to them advising I thought that effort was extremely poor and that it resembles a cheap bali knock off sinlget. I also advised I believed it was one of the worst clash guernsey's in the competition.
-
I like them. Might get a pair for summer.

I never understood why he would wear that Guernsey against St Kilda? The red bars down the side are almost identical to the red on their Guernsey? Weird.

I sent them the following: Good Afternoon, While I am sure you have received a number of emails relating to the 2017 clash Guernsey, I felt it necessary to also provide some feedback. I do not expect an email back, however as a paying member of the Melbourne Football Club I felt it necessary to voice my opinion on what I think is a really poor effort in the production of the 2017 clash Guernsey. I understand that the AFL sets certain guidelines for the types of clash Guernsey’s required, but I feel that this years’ is an extremely lazy effort at constructing a clash strip. I actually don’t mind the idea of having different strips as it presents a great commercial opportunity to sell more merchandise to fans. However, I can honestly say this is one of the worst attempts I have seen from any club in the AFL (including the Hawks Power Rangers effort!). It seems as though someone has just taken a white Guernsey (because we have to) and just decided to slap the emblem on there as they couldn’t be bothered thinking of anything better to do. The only thing I can think of that resembles this would be a cheap knock off singlet you would buy on the streets of Bali! While I understand that you will be unable to change the strip for the 2017 season, I do have some recommendations for future seasons. 1. We should look at involving the members in decisions on the alternate strip (as we are the ones who will be buying them). This could be done with a ‘create the guernsey’ competition or you could provide 3 options and let people vote. 2. We should look at only have a red clash strip. The Bomber’s colours are not too dissimilar to ours and they are able to have a red clash strip so why not us? 3. I have attached a concept for clash strips produced by another MFC member that I think would be much better options. The main reason is that they would both contain the red ‘V’ which I feel is synonymous with the Melbourne Football Club brand. I appreciate you taking the time to read this email and I hope that it does not fall on deaf ears. As mentioned I do not expect an email back but I just hope that the club will accept the feedback from the people who pay money to this club and who purchase your merchandise.

Wow. So that Guernsey that was shown on the website wasn't a mistake....... How anyone could approve that beggars belief. PJ has been fantastic for the club but this is a stinker of a decision.
-
I think I'd rather email the club as although the AFL set the rules, they can still work with supporters to put together a good clash guernsey. At the moment it seems we are being ignored and they are bringing out these disgraceful excuses for a guernsey. I don't usually get upset about this type of thing but what they brought out recently is so terrible I have to get my thoughts out!
-
What's the email address to send it to? I'll do the same.
-
Agree I think it looks great as far as alternate guernsey's go. Plus it keeps the traditional red 'V' which I also like.

New balance apparel sponsorship renewed?
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Delusional demon 82's topic in Melbourne Demons
I can appreciate everyone has different tastes. I think long term it could be a great partnership. -
If these were our clash Guernsey's I'd be fairly happy with that. I'd probably remove the little emblem on the original but other than that I can't see much better of an outcome than what you've put together here. Can we honestly put this forward along with a signed petition? Would anyone else be keen to try do that?
-
They should listen as we are the ones who buy merchandise and also keep the club afloat!

New balance apparel sponsorship renewed?

You do realise that NB is one of the most popular brand of shoes amongst young people? I personally think they are a great brand to be associated with and have the potential to be one of the biggest in world sport. -
Can you please send this to the club, along with a petition requesting they swap the 2017 guernsey with this?
-
Surely they are extracting urine? That is hideous if that is what they went with. Not quite as bad as the Hawks Power Rangers top but not far off. I agree with someone's comments earlier- the first thing I thought of was a cheap Bali knock off!
